REVNUMBER is a VARCHAR2. I've set it to increment by letter in alphabet to note the revision of a document, i.e. IR*, A, B, C... . This works beautifully.
VERNUMBER is a VARCHAR2. I've set it to increment by number but starts from null to 'IR' to 1, 2, 3...
Until now, I've been incrementing VERNUMBER without problem if, instead of IR as the first incremented value I leave the field null. The user has asked that IR display. I've tried using IR as the default but I still need to increment from there so I don't see it making a difference between that or dumping it as the first condition of the following. The problem is I get an invalid number error either way.

I got this error: ORA-01722: invalid number. The problem is m.customer_id has data type NUMBER, p.add_data is VARCHAR.

I checked the data type acquired by the view and the table involved and confirmed that it was of number type.Weird thing for me is that I changed the where statement as

I have a pkg with a procedure that uses dbms_sql to process a varchar2_table. Each record in the table is a delimited string, such as "Priority^2", or "Destination^7". The goal is to split that string on the hat and update a record in the panelfield_users table. It works perfectly if I replace the first substr/instr on :pColumn with a hardcoded number, so I know that the binding is working to that point. It is only when I try to get the latter half of the string that it chokes. I keep getting a "invalid number" error. The displayorder field is an integer field and all values will be 3 digits or less. If I pull the sql string out into an editor, it runs just lovely.

I have Oracle 11g Express on my laptop and my desktop. I have a workspace that I've been using for a week now on my desktop. Now, for some reason, I am unable to log in to my workspace from my laptop. I know for sure that the credentials are correct because I can log in using my desktop with no problem. APEX 4.0 Sometimes, I am getting the below error when I tried to logging into APEX workspace (after giving workspace name, User name and password), Expecting p_company or wwv_flow_company cookie to contain security group id of application owner.
ErrorERR-7621 Could not determine workspace for application (:) on application accept. I found some threads related to this but in different way not exactly when I am getting this error.
After 2 or 3 times, this error will not come and I can able to logging into workspace What is the cause for this issue??
I'm trying to set up a PL/SQL dynamic action that is triggered by clicking on a button. The dynamic action sets two values in a table and then I would like to redirect to another page. Setting the values works fine. The code is below:

Unless I'm not understanding this error it means that it can find the ACTION part that is attached to the WHAT part of this Dynamic Action? The Dynamic Action does work when the application is run (in Development)also, there are 3 others that are similar to this one. The export was created by the export utility in the Application Builder.
If I export only the page and import that into Production the import is successful and the page runs correctly. This is error is happening only when I try to import the entire Application.There are many other changes made which is why I was trying to do an Application export/import instead of individual pages.
I am using Apex 4.2. On a click of button a Dynamic Action is written, which calls a DB Package. The DB package has exception handlers and also the package has two output parametersError Code and Error MsgSo in my code(Dynamic Code) i make a call to the package and checks the value for Erroc Code.

We just upgraded from Application Express 4.0.2.00.07 to Application Express 4.2.2.00.11. We are using one common application to authenticate and redirect to other applications.
URL....The upgade from 4.0 to 4.2 went fine, existing applications work, Builder works fine. But none of the packaged applications install, all of them fail with that error. Is there some post-upgrade step to complete to get this to work?
Also, it doesn't appear like we can select the application id when installing these applications! Our environment has a convention, of sorts, for application ids. Is there a way to over-ride the app id?
When I build simple tabular form in APEX 4.2 it displayed 10 rows per page by default. When I changed that number in Number of Rows field to 15 nothing happens. Again only 10 rows per page were displayed. Next field on the right to Number of Rows is Number of Rows (Item). Tabular form works as expected when I use this field and define number of rows with hidden page item. So workaround issue (bug?) is easy. Is this some kind of bug or I miss something obvious?
I would like to display the row number in the report region at the beginning of each row for each page (based on the number of rows to display per page).
So if the number of rows per page is 15, I would want to show each row from 1 to 15. When going to the next page (16 - 31) I would like to show row 1 to 15 again next to each row. And if the number of rows per page is 20, I want to see row numbers 1 to 20 on each page.
Since I believe an Update button only processes the current page, I would like to then use this row numbers (1 - 15) to get the values of the displayed column for each row to perform an insert to another table.
In an Application Procedure, I'd like to reference some items that are local to the current page. Obviously, hard-coding like the following won't work unless it happens to be on Page 25.

I'm trying to update a number field on an apex page by summing up the values of multiple page items. I've tried to follow this tutorial

especially the "Create a Set Value Dynamic Action Using PL/SQL" part.
In the tutorial example they return an page item value P3_SAL multiplied by a multiplier they've determined by another page item's case. What I want to do is much simpler in that I just want to add up multiple page item values and then display them in a number field at the bottom of the page.

I am getting many warning messages in the error console using Firefox V 13. This one seems to be the most prevalent. It's not causing problems except that on some machines it causes the error console to pop up and is distracting for the users.
