I just installed Apex and want to create an application that accesses data in a non-Apex schema. However, when I create an application I can't see objects in other schemas. I tried specifying the schema and tablename (e.g. apps.gl_je_headers) but that didn't work. I can only see objects in the APEX schema. How do I reference other schemas when I create an application?
View 1 RepliesIm using APEX 4.0. We startet with APEX 2.2 and upgraded it till 4.0. Database is 10g
The application generates emails which schould be send by APEX background job via APEX_MAIL.PUSH_QUEUE. Currently no mails will be send. Mails are added to APEX_MAIL_QUEUE only. I don´t see anything in columns MAIL_SEND_COUNT and MAIL_SEND_ERROR. Administrators of email server say that they don´t see any attempt to send the mails in our mail queue in mail server logs.
It´s possible to send mails with UTL_SMTP!There is no error produced by APEX push_queue background job.But there are several jobs running:
Schema: FLOWS_030100
Job: wwv_flow_mail.pusch_queue(...)
Job: wwv_flow_cache.purge_sessions(..)
Schema: APEX_0400000
Job: wwv_flow_mail.pusch_queue(...)
Ok, it´s possible that´s this is an error of our database administrator.
1. Shouldn´t I see the two background jobs (push_queue, purge_sessions) in schema APEX_0400000?
2. Should I kill push_queue job in schema FLOWS_030100? Where schould the jobs run?
3. How can I debug push_queue? Even if I run it manually I don´t get any return values/errors?
4. Must the jobs have job id 4002 and 4001?
When I invoke SOAP Web-Service using APEX_WEB_SERVICE.MAKE_REQUEST, then I'm able to get response from web-service. However all German character are replaced by JUNK data. However data is coming fine when I test web-services using SOAP UI.
I tried to invoke web-service using UTL_HTTP. However when I use UTL_HTTP, then I'm getting following error.
ORA-24247: network access denied by access control list

We have 2 apex schemas
APEX_030000
APEX_040200
Before executing the apxchpwd.sql, found the "alter session command" sets schema to APEX_030000. So we changed that to APEX_040200. Then we executed the sql script. It executed fine.
But now when we try to login to apex, and pressing enter after providing the username/pwd, it raises the following exception
Error Error in PLSQL code raised during plug-in processing.

I have two applications both in the same workspace. I want to log into one of them, but then have a link to a page in the second application, without having to enter a login to the second application.
Trying to follow the following from a while back, but cannot make it work in apex 4.1.1. Is it possible to access two application with one login? Both application are using the same ldap authentication.

The link I use to the second application is a javascript pop window for displaying the second application and call it with the java pop up url

However, it still asks me for the login to the the second application. I found other conversations that said to fill in the cookie name in the Session Cookie Attributes in Security, Authentication of the second application and entered the cookie name LOGIN_USERNAME_COOKIE here. However I still get the second application login screen now with a bunch of numbers in the username field.
What am I missing to get this to work without having to login again for the second application?

I am new to Oracle APEX, and have a few questions regarding the user information.
I've created a new workspace on my local APEX installation, created some users in the workspace, and divided them into roles as "Managers" and "Employees". I am the only Dev and Admin of the workspace, and the users (Managers and Employees) I have created are viewers.
I'd like to create database tables in the workspace where some field would refer to the user ID of the created user as a foreign key, and their role. Similarly, I'd like to create pages where a particular region is displayed only if the logged in user is a "Manager". How can I access the user data and the role data using SQL?

I have installed APEX on my local machine, created a workspace, and added a few users with roles.
I am creating an application, similar to a Library app, where I have a table that stores Books information (BOOK_ID, BOOK_NAME, etc). I'd like to create another table BOOK_USER with two columns, BOOK_ID and USER_ID. BOOK_ID would refer to the BOOKS table, and I want USER_ID to refer to the table that stores user details of the workspace that I am using. The data entry would happen from a page that has two LOVs, one for book name (using BOOK_ID as the value) and another for user name (USER_ID, or whatever field APEX uses to store user's ID). Can I do that in APEX? I've found ways to access and authenticate a user for a page, but how to get data of all users in the workspace? In other words, how to get all usernames in a LOV?
How can I access this "file:///C:/Users/RI/m_1.html" external file within the apex page?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a number of pages containing charts and gantts. I want the user to be able to filter the data shown in these various charts. More than that, I want the user's filters to persist between pages. So, if they select "Key project = 'Y'" on the gantt page, the gantt will filter - and if they then navigate to a report (bar chart) page, that will also be filtered for Key projects only.
To make this happen, I plan to have an identical sidebar on all these pages. This will contain maybe 8 dropdowns and tickboxes allowing the user to create or remove these filters. Eventually some users might save preferences for certain choices within these dropdowns.
Since the sidebar will almost always be identical from page to page, the smartest approach would seem to be to create one sidebar (as html region) and access that sidebar from all pages rather than copying the code from page to page. Then I thought I'd create application-level items in order to create global variables for each of the dropdowns.
My question is: is this approach possible? And can I create a "global" region in Page 0 and then access it from other pages? (This is how I thought it would work but I have tried and can't see how to do it.)
I'm setting up APEX REST security by following the instructions from [URL]...Everything works great according to document.
I can acquire a token, then passing it in the header to get needed data from REST service. Consumer acquires an token by going on web browser to [URL]...
It will be redirected to[URL]... asking for username and password on browser. Once entering them correctly, it will be directed to Redirect URI defined in the OAuth2 client with the token in the URL.
My question is that is it possible to do token acquiring by coding (like in Salesforce) without going to web browser? We've tried doing that, it will stop due to redirect to sign-on.

We have integrated Oracle Access Manager 11gR1 with Oracle Apex 4.1. The OAM-Apex integration is working fine. Now we want an additional header variable to be passed from OAM to the Apex application. This new header variable will be user's sAMAccountName in Active Directory. OAM is integrated with AD and the AD users are successfully able to access the Apex applications.
The three header variables which are configure in OAM right now are:
Header variable name Value
1. OAM_REMOTE_USER $user.userid
2. OAM_REMOTE_USER_EMAIL $user.attr.mail
3. OAM_REMOTE_USER_GROUPS $user.groups
We need an additional header variable as mentioned below:
Header variable name: OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME
Value: $user.attr.samaccountname
The new header variable was added in the OHS server's dads.conf file like shown below:

But we are not able to read the value of this attribute in the Apex application.On the Apex application, we have a text box which shows the value of this header variable. This textbox is attached with the following stored procedure call to fetch the header variable:

The textbox shows the correct value if HTTP_OAM_REMOTE_USER is passed to the get_cgi_env method but does not shows anything when HTTP_OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME is passed to the same method. if I am missing some configuration to pass the HTTP_OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME haeder variable from OAM to Apex.
I have multiple application set-up using session sharing within the workspace.Technically all works fine, however it does not play nice with user behaviour.
Example:
Users logs into APP_ID:100. Since he isn't authenticated yet, he provides user/pass and the APP_SESSION is authenticated.
Now if the user switches using to another application (using a link provided in application 100) he gets redirect to APP_ID:101:APP_SESSION all is fine.
The session is already authenticated, the application shares the session and the user gains access to app 101 without having to authenticate again. All's fine!
However users don't behave they way. Instead of using an easy link in the application. They will use their own bookmark or type in the url for app 101 manually. That way the next application is either called with f?p=101:1:[SOME OLD SESSIONID FROM BOOMARK] or f?p=101 (with no further page or session info) In both cases instead of using the already authenticated session apex spawns a new session, which of course isn't authenticated yet thus forcing the user to authenticate and come complaining they have to login again.
Similar behaviour problems exists when the user opens a browser and tries to open both applications in each in a tab next to each other.Both tabs fetch there own initial session id and start writing it to the same cookie each in turn invalidating the other tab's session.These can lead to some fanatic ping pong actions. Thus it's impossible to open 2 applications sharing session in the same browser.
Is there any remedy for these situations?Can apex be as smart as for instance first trying to resume the session stored in the cookie and only if that session is invalid, start a new session?

When I was looking through various threads and guides, I've encountered checkbox corresponding array names like "g_f01" - "g_f50". And so far i saw that these names are derived from item name in generated HTML code, for example:

And this one stands for array name "g_*f10*".However, when I tried to do the same thing - i receive item name which looks like "*p_v04*", and therefore, I can't figure out, which array name should I choose to adress it properly.

ErrorERR-7621 Could not determine workspace for application (:) on application accept. I found some threads related to this but in different way not exactly when I am getting this error.
After 2 or 3 times, this error will not come and I can able to logging into workspace What is the cause for this issue??
Each time when I import an application into my workspace in local 10g XE using the APEX 4.2 Application Builder, I get the "ORA-02291, constraint wwv_flows_fk violated..". The application I whant to import was originally exported from [URL]. I found out, that it has to to with wwv_flow_application_install.get_workspace_id in the installation script, which obviously returns NULL and not my current workspace id as I suppose it should. I replaced wwv_flow_application_install.get_workspace_id by '<my worskspace id>' and then the import does work.

I had an error importing an application into Production that was exported from Development. The application exists and I was trying to replace it.
The error I received was:

Unless I'm not understanding this error it means that it can find the ACTION part that is attached to the WHAT part of this Dynamic Action? The Dynamic Action does work when the application is run (in Development)also, there are 3 others that are similar to this one. The export was created by the export utility in the Application Builder.
If I export only the page and import that into Production the import is successful and the page runs correctly. This is error is happening only when I try to import the entire Application.There are many other changes made which is why I was trying to do an Application export/import instead of individual pages.
I have to modify the Form layout of an existing application (Application Express 4.0.2.) where the data for each field is retrieved using SQL statements
Presently the form looks something like this and the Data for each field is rendered properly in this layout:

What I'm trying to do is to move "FIRST NAME" underneath "LAST NAME" and "UNIT #" next to "LAST NAME" This part is very simple. However, the issue I'm having is as soon as the "UNIT #" is moved next to "FIRST NAME", the data for "FIRST NAME" and "LAST NAME" simply disappear
