Application Express :: BIP Report Using Webservice - Could Not Convert Null To Bean Field

I have a BI Suite implementation on one server. And a database with ApEx on another server.
I want to call a BIP report from within my ApEx application using the webservices (runReport) available in BIP 11g.
I used soapUI to test my webservice. Result : OK
When called from within ApEx, ApEx gives me a succes message but the report isn't generated. Instead the console on the BIP server shows the following error:

'sizeOfDataChunkDownload' is a field of the webservice that is left empty. That indeed is the only difference between my soapUI test and the ApEx situation. In soapUI I removed all empty fields. In ApEx this does not seem possible...
Some extra information:
- the webservice is created on this WSDL : /xmlpserver/services v2/ReportService?wsdl
- it's defined as a SOAP v2
- no basic authentication
- the reports are defined in the BIP environment; not in ApEx

I am trying to output some html in an Apex (v4.1.0.00.32) interactive report in a computation field but it just outputs the html..How can I put something like a br tag or a non breaking space {noformat} {noformat}
eg

i am running the following configuration:
Oracle Database 11.2.0.3
Application Express 4.2.1
apex_listener.2.0.1.64.14.25 on Glassfish 3.01
Everything works fine except the restful webservices. In SQL-WorkShop when i create a simple GET webservice and klick on "Test"" 404 not found" comes up in the browser.In the log i can see:

I created an report and made it accessible as Restfull server. When I checked the url, I got an XML back. So the service is working.
As test I wanted to create a webservice reference to that same page, but receive ORA-06502 PL/SQL: numeric or value error: hex to raw conversion error whenever I test the service. I tried all kind of options.
Settings:
URL ...........
HTTP MEthod : GET
Parameters
app
page
reportid
(and even parmvalues, lang, output)
outputformat : XML
When I test this service I receive above error. I use Apex 4.1

I have a region with 4 fields - ID, name, address, telephone. A user can search on any one of theses fields, depending on which field they search on the query is different e.g. Searching on telephone is a different query to searching on address. The query will bring back the same columns, so I just need one report.
How do I create a report where depending on the field the user searches on, it uses the same report but different query.

i need to consume web services within my apex Apps, i tried sample app from here: URL....it worked, but response time is about 15 seconds, then i tried another with Google Geocode APIURL.... and again time is 15-16 seconds. It's normal response time from Apex Web Services or is there something to do.

I have a HTML region with two select lists and one button. The select lists are P103_SPORT and P103_YEAR. I want the user to make choices from the select lists and click the button to pass their choices as parameters in a URL. I set the button to redirect to a URL. In that URL I am using the notation &P103_SPORT. and &P103_YEAR. to include the user values. Currently when a user clicks the button, a new window opens with the URL, but nulls are being passed for the 2 items (sport and year). When I click the DEBUG button for the page, these items have nulls for values, even though the user selects values from the select list.
what I'm missing here? Why does DEBUG show null for the items when I can see values in these items?

Having this issue in Apex 4.1.1 and 4.2 (haven't tried it in versions prior to 4.1.1 yet). So I got my standard IR, and trying to create a private report with control breaks, aggregations.
Once I save it as a private report, It applies the same on my primary report.
It's no big issue as I can flip back to Primary report and delete the control breaks, aggregations but is some kind of bug? Ideally it shouldn't modify my primary report unless I try to save it as "Default Report Setting".

I have a Page containing 3 reports and I was wondering if it is possible to re-execute only one of the these reports using a button or preferably a Select List which allows me to choose which of the 3 reports I wish to 'refresh/re-execute'. I may be totally wrong here but I assumed that choosing the option to submit a Page will cause all regions to refresh i.e. re-execute the SQL queries they are 'based on'.

I have a Report Region with Type SQL Query and Source "SELECT * FROM <table>" where <table> has a primary key from a sequence. Under Report Attributes, I have Report Column "ST_NM" with Show and Sort checked and having a Sort Sequence of "1". I assume this is to set the iniital display sequence but regardless, the report rows display in Primary key order initially.

1) How do I set the initial display sequence to be other than the primary key sequence?

What is the code/javascript/url behind the test report button on report queries component?
We are having DSN problems using the print url given on the report query. The URL works for some of our developers and not for others.
The test report button on the report query appears to work for everyone but I do not know what is behind the "Test Report" button. If I could recreate the test report button on our page this would be GREAT!

APEX 4.0.2 Project Gantt Chart - Error Code: 2002 Message: Empty input
I found the actual dates are mandatory, while the chart tolerates missing planned dates - which is a complete reversal of what actual project data would have.baseline project gantt with parent-child relationship
What I found though is if some planned dates are missing, the generated XML seems to default with data from previous rows.my red lines indicate missing from/to dates (actual data also shown underneath chart) URL.....

Had some issues with a page on which i changed the value of an item using javascript and added a dynamic action (dummy pl-sql) that submitted the item. The problem was that if i also used $x_disableItem to disable the item in the function that set the value , the value submitted was always null. However if i used the "Disabled" attribute from the item Settings and remove the calling $x_disableItem in the function, the value submitted is correct.
To reproduce , create these objects on a page (default everything not specified):
<li>P1_VALUE - textfield
<li>P1_SET_VALUE - button calls "javascript:setValue();"
<li>P1_SUBMIT - submits the page
<li>Dynamic action:
- Event - Before Page Submit
- Execute PL-SQL (begin null; end;) - Page item to submit P1_VALUE

So i have two questions:
1) Why is the implementation different (would have expected to behave in the same way)?
2) When using the javascript API function $x_disableItem , why is the value submitted null?
P.S: For the workaround i removed the $x_disableItem call with calling a custom function that toggles the read-only attribute of a given item.

I have select list which has null and other values. I have created a blank HTML region with the following text
Report for the year &P2_YEAR. and for geography &P2_GEOG.
Now P2_YEAR works fine because, it is always populated with a year. However, &P2_GEOG has 'All' as null value since we can see the report for all geographies. However, if the all option is selected, the above &P2_GEOG. shows as null. Since its not a PL/SQL proc, I cannot put in a NVL. I am guessing one possible way is to write a PL/SQL code before region and then check if its null and then try to populate a new hidden field and show, something like that. Wondering if there is a way to do it directly in the HTML region?

I have a form that based on a table,
Col1: text field
Col2: text field with Disabled =Yes and Save session state = Yes
I create a dynamic action on Col1 to set value for Col2, when I submit page an error raised: Session state protection violation
visit: [URL]...
My purpose is: Col2 is set value by Col1 via Dynamic action, and is read-only, user cannot modify.

I created a table (software defect details) and an interactive report on it. Users can go to the details form where they can manage many information: STATUS is one of them and they can change it or not.
I would like to send an email when SUBMIT botton is pressed only if field STATUS has changed. How can I detect this? I mean, I wrote a procedure in order to send an email and it works, but it runs always: I cannot set it running only when the content of STATUS_ID has changed.
how to understand if a field value has changed and, if possible what the old values was? I know how to do that by using a trigger (:old.status, :new.status) but I don't when using an APEX procedure.

I have a need to change the LOV of a page item's select list based on the selection in another page item's select list. So in other words, for a page item that is a select list, I need to use one LOV normally, and a different LOV if the value of a different page item is set to X.
A dynamic action would be useful here (on change where Select List 1 = x), but I don't know how to take the action of changing LOVsfor Select List 2 based on that action.

1.- i have a product_item field (wich is a lov and user choose one value), so i need to call a function (sending it the selected value product_item) that will return me some data about the product i selected, for example :
if the function return 'A' then
disable the next item on tabular form, lets say quantity
else
enable the next item on tabular form, lets say quantity
end if
2.- i need to determine the result of two items operations:
total := final_quantity - start_quantity
the user will introduce start and final quantity and i will determine the total.

We are using APEX 4.2, 10GR2, RedHat5.
I have a report that comes from SQL Query (updateable report). I'm using the apex_item.text and apex_item.hidden on fields. I'm using a button to submit and after submit process to add some logic that I need.
There could be 1 - 10 records in the report. There is only 1 field that is needed to enter a value, but the value of this field determines the value of another field. I think that I can do this with a submit button and an after submit process where I loop through all the records. I think I have this handled.
This is the question
When the value of that field is changed then the value of another field in the same row changes immediately. All the examples I've seen so far are for a single record and that doesn't work for us.
I guess this is a MRU process but I haven't seen an example where a dynamic action is possible on a Multi Row Update.

In a detail tabular form I am referencing a date picker field from the master form as default value.This is the situation in the detail form:
TABULAR FORM
Column Name: FECHAREGISTRO -- the field's name in the detail tabular form
Default Type: Item (application or page item name)
Default: P68_FECHAREGISTRO -- It's a field in the master form and also is Date Picker format
Reference Table Owner: SAMPEDRORIVEROS
Reference Table Name: BITACORAABOGADO
Reference Column Name: FECHAREGISTRO -- It's a date field in the database
At execution time I have the error:
report error:ORA-01790: expression must have same datatype as corresponding expression
I think it is because i must use to_date and to_char in order to change the datatype and i have tried using:
Default: to_date(to_char(:P68_FECHAREGISTRO,'DD-MON-YYYY'),'DD-MON-YYYY')
and in Default Type: PL/SQL Expression or Function but I get a different message at execution time:
report error: ORA-01722: invalid number.

- Apex 4.2
- Application Theme: Bluejay-22
- Page Template Class: Two Level Tabs
Required:
- Convert 2nd Level Tabs of (Bluejay-22 Theme) to be Drop-Down Menus as in (Application Builder Theme)
- Where can I find documentation for app_AppMenuMultiOpenBottom3
Current Situation
- Only the first level tabs are converted to match the (Application Builder Theme).
- The Drop-Down menus of the second level tabs are not working
