View 4 RepliesI had droped one user from my oracle database..but when i run this below query i found that user exist
SQL>select username from dba_users;
but when i try to connect that user i get result
SQL> connect sunil/sunil
ERROR:
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
Now tell me how to remove this user from result of this query
SQL>select username from dba_users;
I have a strange problem when creating a view in user from another user
I have a user called "Cash_tst"
its syntax creation is
-- Create the user
create user CASH_TST
identified by ""
default tablespace CASH
temporary tablespace TEMP
profile DEFAULT
quota unlimited on cash;
-- Grant/Revoke object privileges
grant connect to CASH_TST;
grant dba to CASH_TST;
grant resource to CASH_TST;
-- Grant/Revoke system privileges
grant create any view to CASH_TST;
grant unlimited tablespace to CASH_TST;
I want to create a view
CREATE VIEW TAMER
AS SELECT *
FROM AROFL.RA_CUSTOMER_TRX_LINES_ALL_BEFO
"AROFL" is another user on the same database
when try to create the view "tamer" i got message of
"insufficent privilege"
although i granted "create any view" to the user "cash_tst"
how to Refresh materialized view by other user than owner.option is there to give drop any view/table grant to other user. But can't do this as it's a system privileges.
Is there any option to refresh a view without dropping the structure?
I have a view in schemaA called viewA for example. The view is quite complex, with multiple joins.I've granted ALL to schemaB to the view, and to all the referenced tables within the view.However, when I run execute the view from schemaB, I get a ORA-00942 table or view does not exist.
SQL> select * from schemaA.viewA;
select * from schemaA.viewA

I suspect that Oracle is creating to temporary tables/views internally (or using something that is already there), and that I need to grant access to these temporary objects.
An user is running some queries and that's making database hang. I want to view what queries this user is running. Can this be done by session auditing turning on?

So, the situation now is that the table only has these three partitions, and we are not able to empty the table, so that we can later purge it and recover the

free that space and empty the contents of the table?

I need to recover a dropped table, I have a RMAN backup of midnight and the table was dropped at 7:00 PM today. I do not have flash back enabled on the database. I am thinking of restoring midnight backup and applying the archives just before the table was dropped and opening the database in resetlogs method.
Flashback query is working fine for dropped table,but throwing error when trying to get back the previous date by dropping a column from a table.
FLASHBACK TABLE emp TO TIMESTAMP TO_TIMESTAMP('2013-07-13 05:00:00', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS')
SQL Error: ORA-01466: unable to read data - table definition has changed
Is that a limitation of Oracle by not having query to flashback a column but a table.

Developer is re-creating the table now though. But I am just curious whether we need to change these parameters (db_recycle_cache_size) in order support any similar requests in the future.

Is it possible to audit when a constraint is disabled, enabled or dropped? Sometimes I wonder why some constraints are missing. To make sure someone is dropping I would like to audit that action. Further, I would need to compare schemas to realize if some constraints are missing. As it names are generated automatically by oracle, how could I easily run a select to compare the constraints that does not match between schemas?
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to restore the schema and its associated objects once it is dropped?
1. The flash back database feature is not ON in the database where schema was dropped.
2. The data files/ table space has not been dropped
3. There was no export taken for the schema.

After a power failure, I have now dropped disks in my 2 diskgroups DG_RACDATA1 and OCRVD.
Disks has been renamed and prefixed by DROPPED...
Their state is now "FORCING"
Mount status = missing
header status = unknown
Mode status = Offline
These disks was belonging to a failure group with redundancy so the cluster still works ...but I have lost the redundancy.
How to reuse these offline disk or confirm that what I plan to do is good:
Shall I put them online ? ALTER DISKGROUP DG_RACDATA1 ONLINE DISK DROPPED0000_DG_RACDATA1
Shall I drop them ? ALTER DISKGROUP DG_RACDATA1 DROP DISK DROPPED0000_DG_RACDATA1 FORCE
and then: zeroing them and readd to failgroup ? but how ?
can we recover a dropped table from database as well as recyclebin.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a Materialized View on a remote database from a simple view. The reason is, the data owners don't want to grant explicit tables privileges to external subscribers.
A new schema is created to publish data in the form of a view. I've created mlogs on the master tables, and granted them to the subscriber, but it's still complaining about a missing primary key on the view. A primary key does exist in the master table.
Is there another work around for this situation without having to work inside the data sources' environment?
is it possible to create primary key on view and use this view for creating foreign key .
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe wrote one data load process to load GZ files into Database.during process we will change client facing view definitions to backup table so that we can work on base tables.
This view definition changes are related to FROM and WHERE clause (not columns/type). during load process, client/user may connect to current server and accessing these views. My question is what will be the reflection of changing view definition while user is accessing view?
I created a scenario-
STEP1: Created a view-
create or replace view view_01 as
select object_name from dba_objects union all
select object_name from dba_objects union all
select object_name from dba_objects union all
....
View definition is replaced by new definition while select is executing on that view. select returned number of records as per view definition one.

There is a requirement in my database that I want to restrict the user from directly running queries on database from third party tools such as pl/sql developer and toad.
There is a utility in SQL product_user_profile through which this can be done but it is only restricted if you run the query through sql plus. If I want to restrict and (give suppose select,insert) to a user for directly running queries through PL/SQL.
I created an externally authenticated user in database. And can login without password with below syntax.
SQL> connect / @TESTDB
Connected.
SQL> show user;
USER is "SCOTT"
This scott user has a proxy permission to another DBuser PROXY_USER. Previously I used to login using below syntax.
connect scott[proxy_user]/password_for_scott@TESTDB
So now, what syntax should be used for this "ExternallY Authenticated" user to login as a proxy user?
how can i assign permissions to one user to add,delete,edit data and other user should be able to perform all functions or selected functions
