View 4 RepliesI'd like to know if it is possible to track DML actions issued on a specific table by a specific user, for example , i tried :
AUDIT SELECT on SCOTT.DEPT by HR by ACCESS;
I get an error, where is my syntax error ?
i want to know if it's possible to do it without trigger ?
i have a block of multiple records where the user can edit the shipment totals of products being sent to branches.
some branches can't receive certain products and usually we just default the shipment value to zero but the user can still edit that value.
What i want to do is iterate through that block and check the branch and product and set the update property to false for only that record. is that possible.

am new to SQL server. I have below statement what is ON [PRIMARY]. I want to write a similar create script to be written for Oracle & need to understand the importance of ON [PRIMARY]
Create table [emp]

[e_sal] [decimal] (20,0) NOT NULL

I have a table Employee which gets updated and Inserted very frequently. Wanted to increase the PCTFREE value for this table
select table_name,pct_free,chain_cnt from user_tables
where table_name='EMPLOYEE'
EMPLOYEE NULL 0
is the output. I altered the pctfree like below
ALTER TABLE EMPLOYEE PCTFREE 30
and I can see Table altered but the value is not reflecting in above command again. Where else I should alter the value and cross check that value is changed.
What Influence PCTFREE on Shrink?.

Let's say we have Table - A and we would like to replicate specific row transaction to Table B.
Here are the rows in *Table A*
Time: Lets say 15:00
A1 Just Updated @15:00
A2 Just inserted @15:01
A3
B1 - Daily Delete Row -i.e just deleted a while back - Non scheduled process --executed by application @15:02

B3 - Daily Delete Row - i.e just deleted a while back -- Non Schduled process --executed by application @15:05
B4 - Just recently purged (As part of 180 Day purge ) - Scheduled process executed by operations team @15:10
B5 - Just recently purged (As part of 180 Day purge ) - Scheduled process executed by operations team @15:10
B6 -Just recently purged (As part of 180 Day purge ) - Scheduled process executed by operations team @15:10
Current Data in Table B (Before Replication) @15:00
A1 (without updates)
A3
B1
B2
B3
B4
B5
B6
Expected rows in Table B (via replication/snapshot/materialized view / or any other method)
*Replication at 15:30*
Table B - Read Only
Expected rows after replication-
A1 -- Newly updated details
A2 -- Newly inserted row
A3
B1 - Daily delete row is expected to be replicated
B2
B3 - Daily delete row is expected to be replicated
***Note row B4 is not expected to be replicated to table B.
Questions:
1) How can we get updates, inserts and daily deletes replicated while ignore large purges?
2) How can large purge changes be reflected in replicated tables as well without deleting daily deletes?
I have a database which consists of various orders and various field.
I have a variable called createddatetime . I want that whenever i should run the database it should display records from
Yesterday 06:00:00 am to Current Date 05:59:59 am
Now to implement this i tried to put this syntax
and to_char(Createddatetime,'dd/mm/yyyy HH24:mi:ss') between 'sysdate-1 06:00:00' and 'sysdate 05:59:59'
But nothing comes up
where as definitely there are records between times because when i do and Createddatetime between sysdate-1 and sysdate I see valid records coming up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOur oracle database has been running great. This past wendesday the application was unable to access a specific table. Sutting down and restarting the database seemed to have fixed the issue. Last night the database has been working since that restart on wednesday morning. Suddenly stopped working. We stopped and restarted the database again this time getting ORA-00600 error as shown below. We are able to make a connection to the database and can even access the tables in question. The application is complaining about the connection to the database. I understand that ORA-00600 is an internal error what I need to know is what the internal error code 549 actually is. I have tried googling to no avail.

I want to set up advance replication for 3 master site (multimaster) I created 3 master site named orc1,orc2,orc3 and followed up oracle replication management of API book instruction I created 2 tables(tes1,test2) in hr schema in all 3 master site with the same data. then I created the following steps
1-CONNECT repadmin/repadmin@orc1
2-Create the master group named hr_test_repg
BEGIN
DBMS_REPCAT.CREATE_MASTER_REPGROUP(
gname => 'hr_test_repg');
END;
/
4-add tables test1 and test2 to the group
BEGIN
DBMS_REPCAT.CREATE_MASTER_REPOBJECT(
gname => 'hr_test_repg',
type => 'TABLE',
oname => 'test1',

I could create DBMS_REPCAT.GENERATE_REPLICATION_SUPPORT for test2 but not for test1 and it produces error

I have 1M Records coming from an External Data source as a Flat File (using ETL). Now I need only Yesterday's data only to load in my Database Table.
this can be done using Bulk Load and Filter.
write the CODE.
Second Part:-
Hint: if I need to update only those records been updated Say the Address1 field is updated. So this records need to update in my Master Customer Table.
If I have many fields in table and any records that are modified (coming to me from External Datasource as a Flat file) how to identify and update that record in my Master Customer Table?
Is there such a thing as:
NOT LIKE IN (record%, %record, etc)
What I need is NOT IN with the ability to query by wild card. NOT LIKE IN doesn't seem to work for me. Is there another way to do this without having to write out each statement (WHERE NOT LIKE record% AND NOT LIKE %record, etc.)?
We have just migrated from DB version 10 to version 11.2.0.3.We have found out, that we have to do a revision of old queries, because there are probably differencies in the syntax. where are these differencies described? Here is an example, what google didn't told me.... I have some condition where table_1.id = table_2.id ( +) What doesn't mean ( +)?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am familiar with using tnsping with the standard sqlnet.ora/tnsnames.ora or other oracle connection definition methods. Can I specify the actual connection definition on the tnsping command line? Something like:
tnsping server:port:instance
DECLARE
T_PASSWORD VARCHAR2(40) :=null;
BEGIN
T_PASSWORD := select MAX(TPASSWORD) from APEXPWD;
if :p101_PASSWORD = T_PASSWORD then
I'm not getting the syntax to LOAD the value of APEXPWD.TPASSWORD from the Database into the VARIABLE T_PASSWORD in APEX so that I can compare it against the users PASSWORD. This allows me to compare if the user has a temp password and then redirects them to the correct change password page. Everything is working except getting the T_PASSWORD variable set correctly.
I have this ORACLE SQL and just about understand join syntax in the From clause, i.e.
SELECT *
FROM TABLE 1 LEFT OUTER JOIN TABLE 2
ON TABLE1.FIELD_X = TABLE2.FIELD_X
However, I've inherited the sql below.
SELECT
RELOCATION.START_DATE,
STUDENT.SURNAME,
STUDENT.FORENAME
CURRENT_SCHOOL.BASE_ID
RELOCATIONS.STUD_ID
[code]......
I particularly don't understand this part
' FROM (MYDATABASE.STUDENT STUDENT
LEFT OUTER JOIN MYDATABASE.BASES CURRENT_SCHOOL '
why the table name student is referenced twice?And again for ' MYDATABASE.BASES CURRENT SCHOOL '?
When I put this into SSRS it shows only links between the tables STUDENT, RELCOATIONS and CURRENT_SCHOOL. Bases isn't mentioned in the tables diagram. it is still referred to in the raw SQL.
The above SQL works fine, i just don't understand what it's doing!

When running in 9,10 or 11 I get the error ORA-22806: not an object or REF. After investigation I found that the problem is the bind variable ":bind.variable". Notice the dot between bind and variable. If i remove the dot or replace it by underscore everything work fine.
I am just looking for some documentation about this problem to know if it was some new restriction starting in 9i and if there is something to set to make it work like in 8i or maybe it will be better to change all our program that are using this kind of syntax. Actually i did not find anything on metalink.
