Forms :: Change Block Status In Custom.pll?

Mar 9, 2010

I have a requirement to get decrypted value of national_identifier from database and display in Social Security number, when user queries for employee in employee form of HRMS. Also, National_identifier should be in encrypted format in database table always.

To meet above requirement, I am using custom.pll. In WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE I am getting decrypted value of national_identifer from database and assigning it to :person.national_identifier(database block) by using COPY function, so far it is working as expected.

When user query for employee, he/she able to decrypted value. but if user closes the form it is asking 'Do you want to save changes you made' as there is a change in :person.national_identifier.

Do we have any property to reset record/block status to something like unchanged, so we will not get 'Do you want to save changes you made message'.

How To Monitor ALTER TABLESPACE Ddl Change

Jan 8, 2013

I can use trigger to monitor ALTER TABLESPACE ddl statement against a particular tablespace in a schema.

CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER HOT_MAIL_DDL_CHANGE
AFTER ALTER TABLESPACE <tbs_name>
ON SHANNURA.SCHEMA
BEGIN
INSERT INTO HOT_MAIL_DDL_AUDIT_LOG VALUES
(SYSDATE,
SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV', 'SESSION_USER'),
ORA_SYSEVENT,
ORA_DICT_OBJ_TYPE,
ORA_DICT_OBJ_NAME
          );
END;
/

I think, line no.2 isn't a valid statement. Or can I use AUDIT instead - in fact, I want to monitor/audit only ALTER TABLESPACE ddl statement and that too for a particular tablespace only.

Server Administration :: Trying To Change Tablespace And Datafile Properties On Fly

Aug 21, 2011

This facility has one last 10g database and a very problematic tablespace and last datafile associated with it. The tablespace was set up with INITIAL_ EXTENT of 131,072 (128K) instead of the more 'normal' 4,194,304 (4M) and NEXT_EXTENT of 262,144 (256K) instead of 4,194,304 (4M).

More worryingly, the datafile has INCREMENT_BY set to 1 (8K) instead of 1,280 (10M) or 2,048 (16M).Has anyone ever updated sys.ts$.dflinit and sys.ts$. dflincr to modify the INITIAL_EXTENT and NEXT_EXTENT, and sys.file$.inc to modify the INCREMENT_BY?

My question is what are the advantages and disadvantages having one single tablespace versus multiple tablespace?

Easy to maintain when you have single tablespace. but hard to track the IO issues if you have one single tablespace.

SQL & PL/SQL :: Monitoring Status Of Procedure?

Feb 24, 2010

I've got a pl/sql procedure that i would like to monitor its progress. Its been running for quite a few hours now and i dont really know if it is stuck in a loop or if it is just taking too long read/execute queries. Is there a way to find out what is the status of the procedure? or what it is currently doing?

I looked at views like v$sessions or v$session_longops but they dont actually tell me what it is currently doing. All of them just point to the call to the pl/sql procedure. Also, is it possible to look at the physical files on the filesystem to know if there is actually any processing going on and files are being written to? Is this possible or a files written to only after a commit?

SQL & PL/SQL :: Fetch Records Based On 2 Status

Jan 25, 2013

create table test_exp (oid number, ioid number, status varchar2(20));

Below are the insert statements.

Insert into TEST_EXP (OID, IOID, STATUS) Values (1, 100, 'NEW');
Insert into TEST_EXP (OID, IOID, STATUS) Values (1, 101, 'DISCO');
Insert into TEST_EXP (OID, IOID, STATUS) Values (1, 102, 'CANCELLED');
Insert into TEST_EXP (OID, IOID, STATUS) Values (2, 103, 'NEW');
Insert into TEST_EXP (OID, IOID, STATUS) Values (3, 104, 'DISCO');
Insert into TEST_EXP (OID, IOID, STATUS) Values (4, 105, 'DISCO');
Insert into TEST_EXP (OID, IOID, STATUS) Values (4, 106, 'NEW');
Insert into TEST_EXP (OID, IOID, STATUS) Values (5, 107, 'NEW');
Insert into TEST_EXP (OID, IOID, STATUS) Values (5, 108, 'CANCELLED');
[code]...

Now my problem is we should fetch the data based on the below rules

If an OID contains 2 IOIDs for which there is a NEW and DISCO status attached, then fetch the 2 records
If an OID has only 1 of these status, then ignore the same
If an OID has none of the 2 status, then ignore the same.

The expected output will be like below:

OID|IOID|STATUS
1 |100 |NEW
1 |101 |DISCO
4 |105 |DISCO
4 |106 |NEW
