PL/SQL :: Storing File In Blob Object And Publishing Content As Email?

Jun 14, 2013

Oracle Database Version: 11.2.0.2.0

We have a requirement below:

The basic requirement is to send an email to the user about order information, with specific subject and the corresponding e-mail body.

Here the E-mail body is very exhaustive, so we are asked to store the content of the e-mail in a word document and store this word document in a tables column of type BLOB.

Once we store this file in the BLOB column, when we send the e-mail to the customer we need to publish the content of the file in the e-mail body and send the e-mail to the user (This E-mail body has some dynamic content as well, that needs to be generated on the fly). This e-mail sending part is done by the shell script.

How can i publish the content of the BLOB object in the e-mail body.

insert into tz1 values (1, 100);

PL/SQL :: How To Convert BLOB To BASE64 String And Back

Aug 15, 2012

We have a forms application in Forms 10g. We scan a document and gets it to a image item in the Form. Now, we need to pass this image to a 3rd party application (document mgt. system, ). They have given us a web-service for this. We have to convert the image to a BASE64 string and then invoke the web-service method and input it.

The, 3rd party application document management system will also send images as BASE64 strings through the web-service. We need to convert them back to a blob and put to an image item in the form so that it can be viewed by the end-user.

So, how can we convert a image item in form (as BLOB) to a base64 string and also do the reverse???

SQL & PL/SQL :: ANSI Join Returning Wrong Dataset?

May 25, 2011

...continued from "Problems with full outer join"I think that ANSI joins in Oracle doesn't work correctly. Or am I doing something wrong? The query looks like this:

select nvl(k.id_pers,t.id_pers) id_pers, k.dat_avst
, id_trans, dat_trans
from
( select ka.id_pers, ka.dat_avst, ka.dat_nasta_avst

[code]...

It's a full outer join between one table (with a subquery) and an inline view with two tables You can see the returned rows in the listing below. The query returns one row where there is a match between t_trans and t_kontoavst.It also returns two rows from table t_kontoavst with no correspondence in t_trans.Finally it returns 26 rows from the table t_trans with no correspondence in t_kontoavst. But among them there are many rows in contradiction to the conditions:

and trunc(dat_trans) >= to_date('20040101','yyyymmdd')
and trunc(dat_trans) <= to_date('20050604','yyyymmdd')

Actually it seems to return all the 27 rows in t_trans (one of them joined to t_kontoavst).These conditions are actually not part of the join so I changed it to:

where trunc(dat_trans) >= to_date('20040101','yyyymmdd')
and trunc(dat_trans) <= to_date('20050604','yyyymmdd')

It's not clear to me if this where condition belongs to the joined result or just to the right joined inline view.With this change the correct rows from t_trans where returned but unfortunately the two rows from t_kontoavst with no correspondence in t_transdisappeared. I thought maybe that is because dat_trans is null for these two rows after the join. Therfore I also includeddat_trans to be null. This can only happen when t_trans is missing

where dat_trans is null
or (trunc(dat_trans) >= to_date('20040101','yyyymmdd')
and trunc(dat_trans) <= to_date('20050604','yyyymmdd'))

But that didn't change the result I have also tried right and left joins and it produces similar errors.One other thing i tried was to replace the inline view with one of the underlying tables t_trans. But the result was the same.Data returned from the original query (see query above):

ID_PERSDAT_AVSTID_TRANSDAT_TRANS
1945050505022005-05-011721642005-05-16

JDeveloper / Java & XML :: Split HTML Content By Tag

May 15, 2012

I need to modify the content of all HTML content to be sent as response from our server according to the tag. say for example, only text content inside a td or div tag will be modified. As per solution we have thought the content will be captured in the Filter of the server. Here, we will split the content against tag and modify the desired text, and then merge them again.

So, for example, if my content is,
.....
<tr>
<td valign="center">Claim Event Code  </td>
<td><input type="text" class="field" name="EventCode"size="20"></td>
<td valign="center">
<SELECT name="pClaimStatus" >
<option value=""selected></option>
<option value="A">Notified</option>
<option value="B">Opened</option>
.....

then my desired output (may be an array) will be like this --
1. <tr>
2. <td valign="center">
3. Claim Event Code
4. </td>
5. <td>
[code]......

so that now I can work upon item 3, 13, 16 and so on. Is this method is ok? if so how could we split and get such array in java.

SQL & PL/SQL :: Comparing Schemas - Content (data) Identical

Jan 20, 2011

I have two schemas with 149 tables in each schema, what I need to do is to prove that the content(data) between the two schemas is identical. I know that all the table names between the two schemas are the same, just need to prove that there is no difference in data.

So the query needs to prove that Schema A content = Schema B content

I know I cant do a simple select from Schema A.tab1 minus select Schema B.tab1 but since there are 159 tables, I am not sure if this is an efficient way of doing it.

Application Express :: Scrollable Content Region - Template?

Jul 31, 2013

I have just implemented a "Data Load" function which is the OOTB page type in apex 4.2 which allows the end user to go through a wizard and import csv data into a table.

 When the user is viewing the data to be imported - they have to scroll across the length of the screen (depending on how many columns you are loading). I noticed there is a Region template called "Scrollable Content Region". I tried applying this template to my region, and when this didn't work, to a container region.

The scrollbars appear (horizontally and vertically) but they are greyed out as the region is still at max width and you have to use the browser to scroll instead.I think this looks untidy as the header colour-styling ends, as well as other regions being stretched.
