SQL & PL/SQL :: TIMESTAMP With Time Zone And Interval

I'm having trouble using interval data types in a procedure. I need to pass a number of minutes as a parameter, and then use them for arithmetic on a timestamp with time zone. This works no problem:

create or replace procedure tstz(mins varchar)
as begin
dbms_output.put_line(systimestamp - interval '10' minute);
end;

I've tried a few variations of data type and type casting for the parameter, but I can't make it work.

My requirement is that
I want to add 2 hours to DateTime i get here i.e. add two hours in result and display the resultant date and tine in time zone '+05:30'. I also want to check that the resultant time falls in business hours (9 am to 6 pm).

When i run the below query the time zone changes from -06:00 to +06:00 How do i retain the same time zone -06:00? Im in Oracle 10GR2.

I would like to know how to convert the following:

to the format:
"MM/DD/YYYY HH:MI:SS AM"...
I believe there is a time zone issue here as well, since the should actually be around 11:30am. I am not sure what time zone is being used.

I am able to see 1Hr difference in my date fields of SQL output because in UI (User Interface) date field was stored in BST format but DB time zone is in GMT format so how to find a solution for 1 hr difference, here i don't have Privileges to alter DB time zone and i couldn't use function as i have so many SQL's and can't apply that function manually. SO is there any other option to change the DB time zone with out alter it and with out using function.

I have a UI which is java and database in oracle 10g and database resides in India. Now the user use this application across the world. Date related value stores in IST format.
Now the requirement is whenever any user open the application in USA ,then date value should convert into their local time zone. So is there any way in oracle to convert and show the date value according to their local time zone.

I have created a job using DBMS_SCHEDULER with named schedule.
After i have modified the schedule using the below queries,
exec dbms_scheduler.disable( 'JOB1' );

I am using the client system to change the setting and the time zone differs from that of production. Even though the job is scheduled to run at 5 AM it show the start date as 6:30 PM which is the client system time.

i have to divide into 3 groups and take a count 7am-12pm, 12pm-7pm, 7pm-7am groups
It looks so complicated to me, because IN time and OUT time together how we do it.
suppose one person 6am IN and out 8PM means he will be in 7am-noon , noon to 7pm, 7pm-7am -- 1, 1 1 on 3 interval another scenario is if one person in 2am in the morning it has to be previous days count. Is this possible to do it in query.

how to create a view from table which containes rows from every minutes. In view I want to select only rows at 15 or 30 minutes interval.
eg. my base table has 60 rows for 1 hour. The created view must contain 4 rows on 15 minutes interval basis at the boundary of that interval.
O/P of view should be like this.

I have create a mview using a dblink with the refresh difference of every 10min. Suddenly I check the mview refresh date and time it was not getting refreshed automatically at the time interval specified.

I have a simple query which will return either A or B depending on the projected oven out date and time. If the projected oven out date and time is between 6am and 6pm, A should be returned. Otherwise B if time is between 6pm and 6am of the next day. My problem is that I do not know how to display A or B depending on the projected oven out date and time. I am using the query below to get the projected oven out date and time.

I have a column where I have time stamp with date and time(8-May-10 10:20:55 Am) from that i will get only time(10:20:55 Am)[query for this mentioned below] Now i need to append the time to current date and insert into a Timestamps column only .
so my result should be 17-May-11 10:20:55 Am(Assuming current Date is 17-May-11) . I tried search it by i found a way in sql server by using DataAdd and DataDiff .

Oracle Database Version : 9.2.0.8.0
Some of the datafiles status have been changed to 'RECOVER', because the datafiles are physically missing.
Now, how can i find that when (timestamp) the status of the datafiles have been changed, as i am unable to find when the datafiles have been physically lost?
Please consider both the case :
1) when the database is in ARCHIVELOG Mode.
2) when the database is in NOARCHIVELOG Mode.

I have a problem, we have some datas in a table for example 7500 rows in a table name called table1 upto 11:am today. but after 11:25 am i have only 5500 rows. in that table.
the table can be accessed by many users here. we dont know when the delete happended in that table. is there any query to find the transaction log of this particular table.
the deletion should be happended between 11:00 am to 11:30 am. but we have retrieved the data using timestamp query. but we need to know when the query issued and by which user the query has been issued.
