SQL & PL/SQL :: SP Executes Fine In One Server But Not In Another One
Jul 9, 2010
I have some trouble with a stored procedure I've created, when I run it in the server dedicated to developers it runs fine, and updates 100,000 record in 23 seconds, but when I run it in the production server it collapses and don't update anything. Here's my code.
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE cdc_sp_comp_tablas_paudit IS
TYPE t_folio_log IS TABLE OF cdc_compara_consulta_paudit.nconencfolio%TYPE;
v_folio_log t_folio_log;
CURSOR c_folios_bd IS
SELECT a.nconencfolio
FROM cdc_compara_consulta_paudit a
, cdc_consulta_encabezado b
WHERE a.nconencfolio = b.nconencfolio
.......
In one of my form , there is some code "next_record;" in the key-next-item trigger of one field. Here before going to next record, it is executing the WHEN-VALIDATE-TRIGGER of all the items in that record. Is it the default behavior of oracle forms? Can we override this?
trim down the following sql to within 255 characters help: select indate from ( select case count(inputDate) when 1 then inputdate end as indate from commLeaseBut5
...
This sql is check a date field in the database for record which, if the date field is blank it should be a new record. Then the sql will assigned the current timestamp and stored to the new record. Otherwise, the sql will return the record timestamp for display.
I am using oracle forms 10g and basically we have a system that takes over 300 photos on a daily basis, this all works fine and with no issues except for say maybe 2-3 photos a month. Occasionally we will get a 'corrupt photo' (it not actually corrupt, it displays in everything as it should except forms) . When we encounter these photos forms just crashes out and the user is unable to query the record with the associated photo until it is deleted and a new one is taken (or alternatively if we take the photo from the database open it in paint.net and just hit save it will then work). There is no difference that we can see in the photo which doesnt work and those that do work. I have tried using WRITE_IMAGE_FILE to save the photo to disk and Read_Image_File to read from the disk to see if that makes a difference. If i save the file as jpeg and no compression it still crashes, if i save it with low compression it works fine but we lose quality which we dont want to lose. Bitmap wont work at all. Saving as JFIF and GIF works fine without any compression but we still lose quality.
The photo will display fine if we use a javabean to display it but in this instance a javabean is not an option.
One weird thing we noticed is that when we are on the form that crashes with these photos and query back a working photo first, and THEN query the 'corrupt photo' the corrupt photo displays fine, but if we go into the form and query a corrupt photo first forms crashes as explained.
Tabular form works fine for first entries, but upon going back to add more records Page 55 has a button that links to the 'Approval' page which is a tabular form (Page 56).A text field at top of this tabular form receives the pass of a varchar2 field from page X which is an identifier (not PK). Tabular form query has condition WHERE ISO_NUMBER = :P56_ISO_NUMBER
When I add records on the first pass to the tabular form and click submit all is fine and dandy. When I get out of the tabular form and go back to it and add additional records I get this error:
Error in mru internal routine: ORA-20001: Error in MRU: row= 1, ORA-20001: ORA-20001: Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process. current checksum = "C4B43B9A17A41D287D55DEFE9B035944", item checksum = "607C07E22C9B03E6A45AF44EDC06BB31"., update "SPICE_HUNTER1"."DOC_APPRV_DOC" set "APPRV_DOC_ID" = :b1, "DOC_INFO_ID" = :b2, "ISO_NUMBER" = :b3, "DOC_APPROVER" = :b4, "DOC_APPROVED" = :b5, "DOC_APPROVAL_DT" = :b6, "DOC_COMMENT" = :b7, "APP_USER" = :b8Here's what I've done to try to figure it out:
1. Ran debug and saw it was happening in my MRU; and 2. In the past what I have cleaned out tabular form table data because I've found that when I'm in this testing mode going back and forth with changes gets fouled up, but with a clean slate it still happens. 3. I had Hidden the ID fields, and then remembered this was one of the issues with versions of this error. (I actually logged this one to remember!). So I made them Display as Text (Saves State) and unchecked their boxes.
Below is the sample code working fine in 10g and not working now in 11g.
CREATE OR REPLACE AND RESOLVE JAVA SOURCE NAMED "PSTest" AS import java.sql.SQLData; import java.sql.SQLException; import java.sql.SQLInput; import java.sql.SQLOutput; import java.util.List;
....

Current Oracle version is Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bit and the version we are upgrading is Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit
i am trying to install Oracle 10.10.2.0 on Windows Server 2003 standard x64 Edition Service Pack, but when i try to run the installer or open DVD it gives me below error.
"The image file D: is Valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine."
I have installed Oracle Grid on a standalone server and setup Oracle db 11.2.0.2 on Oracle Linux 6.2 64 bit server. When I reoot the server and run crs_stat -t,several daemons havent started thus the ASM and db instances are also down as below
I am forced to manually start the daemons via command crsctl start resource -all then I manually start the ASM and db instances. Yet when I run the commands
crsctl config has CRS-4622: Oracle High Availability Services autostart is enabled.
crsctl check has CRS-4638: Oracle High Availability Services is online.
Thus I would assume the daemons would start automatically during boot.
I was trying to delete the database in the test server. When i was deleting listener was already stopped, i continued deleting using dbca, it shown me some alert that datafiles cant be deleted because system could't find database, since listner was stopped so only service was deleted(the one showing in the windows administrator toolsservicesOracleServiceTEST).
All the datafile parameter files are still there. How can i delete the datafiles and parameter files belongs to that database or how to create the deleted service, so that i will start the listener and do the complete deleting of the database.
I have to migrate production database version 10gR2 on windows 2003 server to oracle 11gR2 on windows 2008 server . So far i have just installed the oracle software on 64bit windows 2008 server. How to move the data or migrate from old server to new server .
I have exported data of one user an importing into another schema at another server. when i am trying to imoport it is working fine for quite no of imports into tables, but after some time it starts giving me below mention error...
IMP-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file: < IMP-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file: < IMP-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file: <ے IMP-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file: +A IMP-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file:
...
I have a requirement to read flat text file(around 15000 lines) residing at a client location from DB server and write into a table in One cell.
I tried UTL_FILE and DBMS_LOB but, i am not able to access client location to read the file as it reads path from Oracle Directory.
eg. my client path is 198.168.1.1 and my DB server is in unix say 192.168.1.10. file location is: \192.168.1.1shareabc.txt So I created One Oracle directory as MY_DIR having DIRECTORY_PATH as '\192.168.1.1share'. But both UTL_FILE and DBMS_LOB is not able to access the file.
Error Message: ------------- Unable to process CLOB -22288 ~ ORA-22288: file or LOB operation FILEOPEN failed No such file or directory
Few Details for reference: ------------------------- File Location: \192.168.1.1shareabc.txt Unix DB Server location: 192.168.1.10 Table : Test (filename varchar2(30), Content CLOB) Oracle Dir: MYDIR Directory_Path: \192.168.1.1share
after a long time,(i never remember when was the last time i installed 9i)i was asked to install 9i.So, whether i install server or cilent i get this error <attachment>
after i ignore it and finished the installation,The server installation gets abruptly ended for the client i get TNS errors.
working on setting up connection between a Windows 2008 server and a pair of Oracle 11g DBs in a RAC Cluster. One Database (let's say DatabaseA) is in one data center, and the other (DatabaseB) is an a secondary, backup database. The RAC Cluster is all set up, working fine, etc. However, I Need to set up the machine.config file on my Windows Server, to go only connect to DatabaseA, unless it fails, in which case, we want it to connect to DatabaseB. Think we could do this if the host app server was Linux/Unix, but it is windows, and I just don't have the background as to the parameters to set up in the machine.config file. They are similar, but different, and we want a very specific behavior (use DatabaseA, unless fails, then DatabaseB). Application is .NET 4.0 app.
I have installed Oracle server and SQL Server on separate machines which cause me a time delay of 21 seconds for each execution. Why executions delay? I have set RPC out (true).
Note: My main concern is either if the query is correct/incorrect it executes for 21 seconds._
Another case when I have both servers on the same machine it executes in milliseconds. I have tried Following methods in SQL SERVER.
*1, Using OPENQUERY:* SELECT * From OPENQUERY(Linked Server Name,’Select * from OracleTableName ‘)
*2, Using Exec:* DECLARE @sql NVARCHAR(MAX); SET @sql =(’Select * from OracleTableName ‘); EXEC (@sql) AT Linked Server Name ;
How to reduce the time delay caused for the execution?
I will have to proceed with Oracle 9 database refresh from production server to integration server. 5 biggest schemas must be exported and imported. They constitute 97% space used in a database. This is very big database so I would like to be sure that everything will go smoothly. That is why i want to ask you some questions.
Have you got any clues for me before I start with exp/imp? From my side i will tell you that I will have to exp/imp schema by schema because there is small space both on production and integration disk for a dump. First thing I thought are dependencies between schemas that are exported and that which are not, and also between schemas that are exported/imported one by one.
This is procedure that I plan:
For every schema that is to be refreshed { 1. Export schema with ROWS=N CONSTRAINTS=Y 2. EXPORT schema with ROWS=y CONSTRAINTS=N 3. Import schema from step one 4. Disable all the foreign key constraints using ALTER TABLE DISABLE CONSTRAINT. 5. Import schema with rows } ALTER TABLE ENABLE CONSTRAINT
With above procedure i think that I will avoid problems with dependencies between schemas exported/imported one by one. But my concern is if there are any dependencies between those schemas and schemas that are not exported. Is there an way to check it before refresh ?
I am trying to find the unix process for one of my application in the database but I am unable to view the same. To simulate, I did the following.
1. My database runs on different server. 2. I invoked "sqlplus" from another unix box to login to the database. 3. I found that the process id (ps -ef |grep sqlplus). 4. When I execute the below mentioned query it does not display the process id that I am looking for. But the osuser, username, program and machine details are correct. How can I know the process details from the database?
SELECT SYS.GV_$SESSION.OSUSER, SYS.GV_$SESSION.USERNAME, SYS.GV_$PROCESS.SPID, SYS.GV_$SESSION.MACHINE, SYS.GV_$SESSION.PROGRAM, SYS.GV_$PROCESS.PROGRAM ,SYS.GV_$SESSION.SQL_ID FROM SYS.GV_$PROCESS, SYS.GV_$SESSION WHERE SYS.GV_$PROCESS.ADDR=SYS.GV_$SESSION.PADDR and SYS.GV_$SESSION.USERNAME='TEST' and SYS.GV_$SESSION.MACHINE like '%hostname%'
I have database in single server. I already have ORACLE_SID=stagedb. So i want to create new sid and named as proddb. Is it possible have multiple db in single server? This server not running as RAC. It run as single only.
I've a question regarding difference of character sets, while taking a export(logical backup) of database on directly to server(linux RHEL 2.1 AS) and export on a client (windows xp prof machine, where only a oracle 9i client is installed). On server it seems to fine and okay, but on client node i'm getting following error for almost all tables.
EXP-00091: Exporting questionable statistics.
My question is :
[1] Is it creating any sort of problem, if later on i import the data which was taken from client node.
[2] Why there is a difference(marginal) in dump(.dmp) file size.
[3] Is there any way to overcome it, or it is the natural behave of it. Means not a problem.
[4] If i'm using a long or blob as datatype for some of my table,is they have any problem if i persist like above.
Additional Information about character sets On server node :
Export done in US7ASCII character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set server uses WE8ISO8859P1 character set (possible charset conversion)
On client node :
Export done in WE8MSWIN1252 character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set server uses US7ASCII character set (possible charset conversion)
database administration , we are planning to use amazon cloud database , this database does not allow us to login to server machine , unfortunately amazon don't provide ssh to this machine , in general for doing any of adminstration task on the database will there be need to log into the machine ? we can always log in through toad or any other sql client but we cannot do ssh to server..general can this limitation effect administration ?
I want to install Oracle 11g R2 in windows 2008 64 bit server. How can I know whether my server is ready to install Oracle ie is all components are available in server or any patch is to be applied etc.
I'm trying to connect a oracle client application on the client machine to a remote oracle server on the server machine but i get a connection fail.
On the server machine I configured oracle server in the following way:
Installed oracle server. Created a database "DB_Test" with the database configuration assistant Created a LISTNER with the Oracle NET Manager with the following parameter:
Protocol: TCP/IP HOST: server pc hostname (ENZOVAIO) or server machine address ip (192.168.0.71) in the network lan Port Number: 1521 Created "dbtest" service with the Oracle NET Manager with with the following parameter: Service Name: "dbtest" Protocol: TCP/IP HOST: server pc hostname (ENZOVAIO) or server machine address ip (192.168.0.71) in the network lan Port Number: 1521
All services on the server machine are running and I opened port number (1521) in the router. On the client machine I installed SQL PLUS and SQL Developer.
With SQL Plus as by the official documentation I have entered the following command:
CONNECT username/password@[//]host[:port][/service_name]. In my case is: CONNECT SYSTEM/oracledb@//ENZOVAIO:1521/testdb.
With SQL Developer I have entered the same parameter.
But with both SQLPlus and SQL Developer the connection fails.
