I am trying to update records in the target table based on the records coming in from source. For instance, if the incoming record is present in the target table I would update them in the target else I would simply insert. I have over one million records in my source while my target has 46 million records. The target table is partitioned based on calendar key. I implement this whole logic using Informatica. Looking at the informatica session log I find that the informatica code is perfectly fine but its in the update part it takes long time (more than 5 days to update one million records). find the TARGET TABLE query and the UPDATE query as below.
TARGET TABLE: CREATE TABLE OPERATIONS.DENIAL_REGRET_FACT ( CALENDAR_KEY INTEGER NOT NULL, DAY_TIME_KEY INTEGER NOT NULL, SITE_KEY NUMBER NOT NULL, RESERVATION_AGENT_KEY INTEGER NOT NULL, LOSS_CODE VARCHAR2(30) NOT NULL, PROP_ID VARCHAR2(5) NOT NULL, [code].....
I am trying to insert records into target table from three source tables by using function in a package and I am getting error as follows.
SQL> create or replace 2 PACKAGE casadm.sis_load_cpl_sis_reb_pgm_hist 3 IS 4 /********************************************************************** ******************

I need to insert data in Table A from Table B where most of the fields are identical and might some of the fields will be more in Table A.
ex: Table A: a,b,c,d,e,f Table B: a.b,c,g,h
How to insert this using user_tab_columns in cursor and if I am giving the i/P as my table names . This needs to be configurable and reusable rather i mention all the fields in my logic.
i have a existing table called table_1 to did some changes to it, but i need to do a source search to find where all in the code that we reference this code to ensure that there is not a variable declaration that sets this to a specific number. how do i do a source search. i alter a existing column (overbook_max) to number(2) tonumber (3)
We have a requirement to archive and purge the tables dynamically based on the control table input. For that we have to design a control table to gather the necessary information and passed to generate the queries.
I have designed the table as below. But in this case I am not able to handle the parent and child relation ship.
Suppose one table needs to be archived and purged and that table is parent table and it is having 2 child tables, so first required data will be inserted into target table and delete from source parent and child tables. so before deleting from parent we have to delete data from all 2 child tables.
Suppose one table needs to be purged and that table is parent table and it is having 5 child tables, so before deleting from parent we have to delete data from all 5 child tables.
To handle this scenario how can I design my control table.
For archive and purge the query like this. INSERT INTO towner_name.ttable_name (SELECT * FROM sowner_name.stable_name WHERE condition_column<=(sysdate-30)); DELETE FROM sowner_name.stable_name WHERE condition_column<=(sysdate-30);
for purge the quey is like this. DELETE FROM sowner_name.stable_name WHERE condition_column<=(sysdate-30);
This is my control table and I have 300 tables list to archive and purge.

wedb_au.OFFER_HEADER is Parent Table. child tables for wedb_au.OFFER_HEADER are wedb_au.OFFER_SERVICE,wedb_au.OFFER_BODY,wedb_au.OFFER_EMAIL,OFFER_TAX. wedb_au.OFFER_SERVICE is child table and parent for this table is wedb_au.OFFER_HEADER wedb_sa.OFFER_CUSTOMER Stand alone table no relationship wedb_us.OFFER_CUSTOMER Stand alone table no relationship [code].......
I currently try to transfer a partition of a table from a source to a target DB. For first test purposes I take both SYS users to avaoid privilege problems. I created below procedure from code fragments out of the net.The partition CSS_201001 from table CTRL_SETTLED_SHIPMENTS shall be transferred (I tried both with already existing partition and non existing on target destination), but I always get the following error at DBMS_DATAPUMP.OPEN:

I got html source code inserted into the table as CLOB (or BLOB). And I would like to search a some word from that. When I find a some value I can write this one into the column. It would be easy if this code is xml but isnt.
I want to replicate single table data/modification from source db to destination DB.procedure or steps how to create replication between source and dest db for single table.
table_1 contain records on employee and the supervisor they are under at a certain date.
As some employee(00001 & 00003) have a different supervisor from different date, I'll like to extract from table_1 the record of each employee in the table that only contain the supervisor info on the most recent date. And from table_2, i'll like to extract the employee's name. These records extracted from both the tables would the be put into a new table,table_3
Example: For employee 00001, only extract record that have the most recent date which is 04-APRIL-2004 and not on 01-MARCH-2004
I have set up a view that pulls news & events records.
SELECTc.priority, c.startDate, p.headline, p.newsID, p.kicker, p.category, p.webPath, p.makePopup, p.thumbnail, p.shortDesc, p.storyType FROM(so_news p LEFT OUTER JOIN so_news_deptLevel c ON p.newsID = c.newsID) LEFT OUTER JOIN so_departments d ON d.deptID = c.deptID
[Code].....
For events I want only the events that have a p.startDate equal to today. I have tried setting that line up a few different ways.
p.startDate = sysDate didn't provide any records for events p.startDate = TO_CHAR(sysDate, 'MM/DD/YYYY') freaked the system out and nothing appeared for either parts of the union
The problem I am facing analyzing a certain table s trying to get a proper start and end date for a specific field such as TICK_COL, because there are so many other fields are being updated in this table - all using MTC_DATE - this is causing iterations of TICK_COL.
So first step was to just use lead to get the end date for all iterations so I could picture how this might look with a start and end date
My first bright idea? I tried using Rank as well, hoping to rank each of this tick_color changes as 1, which works for the exception of when tick_col changes to RIWH or RIGR again.
The ranking function doesn't see the 2nd change to RIWH as entirely unique and assigns it a 2 and 2nd change to RIGR a 3. If I could rank each of those as 1 I could query these results as an in-line view where rank = 1 and do lead to get the start and end date, finished,

10 rows selected.I want the output like as follows, all those missing date i need to carry on the last one's number
The date value I have created for this sample is monthly, based on the condition the data value I may need to generate weekly also. That's Monthly or weekly either one.
How can we partition a table based on date if it does not have a date column.
Actually I have to compare two tables on daily basis and fetch few rows from those two tables and enter it to a third table. But both these tables does not have a date column.
I am confused if i need to alter those tables and add date column or if there is some way in which i can compare the data from the two tables for that particular day only and not the whole table data.
In a data block(it lists all the records created), I tried to search for the records which are created on a particular date. So I entered the date in query mode in that data block. But it is not returning any rows. But if I searched through other fields in that data block except that date data type it is returning the appropriate records.
1.Is it necessary to reorganize a table and index after the deletion of records from table ? Because i see some change in table size after table and index reorganization.
2.Will re org table and index improve the database performance ?
Oracle 11gI have a large table of 125 million records - t3_universe. This table never gets updated or altered once loaded, but holds data that we receive from a lead company. I need to select records from this large table that fit certain demographic criteria and insert those into a smaller table - T3_Leads - that will be updated with regard to when the lead is mailed and for other relevant information. select records from this 125 million record table to insert into the smaller table.
I have tried a variety of things - views, materialized views, direct insert into smaller table...I think I am probably missing other approaches. My current attempt has been to create a View using the query that selects the records as shown below. Then use a second query that inserts into T3_Leads from this View V_Market. This is very slow. Can I just use an Insert Into T3_Leads with this query - it did not seem to work with the WITH clause? My Index on the large table is t3_universe_composite and includes zip_code, address_key, household_key.
CREATE VIEW V_Market asWITH got_pairs AS ( SELECT /*+ INDEX_FFS(t3_universe t3_universe_composite) */ l.zip_code, l.zip_plus_4, l.p1_givenname, l.surname, l.address, l.city, l.state, l.household_key, l.hh_type as l_hh_type, l.address_key, l.narrowband_income, l.p1_ms, l.p1_gender, l.p1_exact_age, l.p1_personkey, e.hh_type as filler_data, 1.p1_seq_no, l.p2_seq_no , ROW_NUMBER () OVER ( PARTITION BY l.address_key ORDER BY l.hh_verification_date DESC ) AS r_num FROM t3_universe e JOIN t3_universe l ON l.address_key = e.address_key AND l.zip_code = e.zip_code AND l.p1_gender != e.p1_gender
Step 1.Insert all records from the external table into the export table. Truncate the export table first
Step 2.Read in a record from the export map table
Step 3.Search through export table records looking for the key words BRANCH =. Compare the branch code with the branch code form the map table
Step 4.If a match is found mark all records in the export table for the worksheet with the global ID from the export map table as follows..The first line of a worksheet is marked by the words WKSHTS..The last line of the work sheet is marked by the words COMPANY CONFIDENTIAL..We will need to capture the line break so also mark the next line after the COMPANY CONFIDENTIAL line
Step 5.Continue with Steps 2 - 4 until all records have been processed from the export map table.
first I have to create a procedure ti insert data from external table to export table.Global id will be blank.it will be updated by the mapping table's Global Id when The EB COLUMN's data(i.e 8p,2Betc ) will match with the BRANC=NA,2Betc of the datasheet loaded from the external table.. FOLLOWING IS THE SAMPLE DATASHEET
WKSHTS AAAAA BBBBBBBBBBB ELECTRONICS INC. TIME REPORT-DATE PAGE SORT - BR, SLSREP AEC FIELD SALES REPRESENTATIVE 16:14 09/21/12 1 BRANCH = 2B EMPLOYEE NAME SALVAAG, GREGG Days in the Month 28 [code]....
THERE ARE 2 pages..I have to split this LONG REPORT STORED IN WKSHT_LINE COLUMN OF EXPORT TABLE to 2 records..like wise 500 pages are there means 500 records.. AND THEN FIND BRANCH= after that which two words will come i.e NA,2B etc if it will MATCH WITH MAPPING TABLE"S EB COLUMN"S DATA,THEN MAPPING TABLE's GLOBAL ID WILL BE UPDATED TO EXPORT TABLE's GLOBAL ID WHICH IS BLANK
Trying to auto insert the newest records from one table into another Table. I have a vendor provided table that is part of my database (running Oracle 9i) so I can't change the underlying structure to it or their process stops fluxing. However, I can add a trigger to it. What I want to do is this:
When the vendor's software inserts a new row (through their own automated process) I want to insert data from that same new record into another table of my own. (where of course I can re-format it, etc., and make the data my own)
The original vendor table does not have a insertion timestamp field to work off of.What is the best way to trigger an insert off the latest inserted record? It works to replace all the records in the entire vendor table but I only want to insert one record at a time.
I am having trouble retrieving the Max, latest date, from a table with a join to one another table and other fields from both.I was able to get the MAX service_date grouped by id. But once I tried to add more fields to the query and another table it won't work.
Here is what I have:
selectMAX(cs.service_date), cs.notes, cs.applicant_id,wr.program_code,wr.last_name,wr.first_name,wr.region_code,wr.status_cd from cs join wr on cs.applicant_id=wr.applicant_id where wr.status_cd='AC' group by cs.applicant_id
I would like to backup all source code (packages, procedures, functions, etc) every day automatically. Is there a built-in feature of Oracle to do this, I've been going through the Toad IDE and its getting to be too time consuming.
I assume I could use the export command, but not entirely sure what to specify.
I would like to backup a few tables along all code and set something in place (trigger maybe?) to send me an email when a modification is made to the production code environment.
