I have below text stored in a DB table, am querying the same text in SQL Developer and am getting the correct reading order
Correct Data
Arabic : %بوليستر 70%, قطن 30
English : 70% Polyester, 30% Cotton
But in Oracle report am getting the wrong data like below

we have upgraded our discoverer from 3i to 4i and from 4i to 10g. After that we faced a strange problem related to arabic font
when opening discoverer desktop and open the list of the saved reports. some reports that was saved by an Arabic name are display by name '????'(question marks)
also another issue when opening it . It open normal but some columns that are Arabic are displayed in this way (ßÇÑÊ-ÇíÌíÈÊ Êáì ßÇÑÏ- ÝÆÉ 100 Ìã). so i must change the column font from "tahoma" to "arial" or any other font that support Arabic.
- my NLS_lANG =american_america.ar8mswin1256
- this problem didnot happens on the discoverer 3i
We Implemented Unicode facility in our application, in forms its working fine. But, while running report in pdf arabicCharacters are not displaying Properly.
we did the following settings in uifont.ali

Arial..Italic.Bold.. = "Arialbi.ttf"
Arial...Bold.. = "Arialbd.ttf"
Arial..Italic... = "Ariali.ttf"

I am generating a arabic report in Report Builder 6.0.8.11.3...It shows ok in report builder but when i generate PDF it shows garbage charachers.

in uifont.ali there are entries of fonts in PDF section.
I have a problem with arabic number in oracle report 11g. I made all the steps of 10g but it is still not working the characters(sentences in arabic are working fine) but number are not:
Steps:
1- Adding arabic fonts in uifont.ali file.
2- adding c:windowsfonts to Froms_path, Reports_path in Regedit
3- add parameter REPORTS_ARABIC_NUMBERAL IN regedit and making it's value CONTEXT.
I have developed a RDF report which when linked to my application called OTM, it returns data which are not expected.
My report has two lexical parameters which are of date variables.
When i run the report from my application it asks for the parameter valeus and when i specify it, the report is not returnign the data within the date range i specified. it returns me all the data.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a report that runs fine if I run it from the developer whether to preview or to file. The users are running this report from an Oracle Forms app and have a drop down for the destination format. If they run it to PDF for example, the report runs fine. If they run it to TXT132, TXT180, or TXT they get a "REP-1219 'FIELD_NAME' has no size -- length or width is zero".
Of course I am unable to get into the test application right now and as I mentioned above, I am unable to duplicate the error when I run the report from the developer. I am not sure why I would get a REP-1219 only when running to a Text file.
how i can change the value of text in the runtime?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a report (written with Oracle report builder 6i) for the SMS system.I want the the report results (list of mobile numbers) to be outputted directly into a text file.I have accomplished that with the following parameters:
DESTYPE = File
DESNAME = C:file_name
MODE = character
this work well for the first time but in the subsequent runs, the report rewrite the same file deleting the result from the run before.can I manage to have each run result written in separate file with the name formatted in specific way like (sms_parametervalue_date) or something. or at least is it possible to change the system parameter DESNAME via user parameter at runtime, so I can input the new file name into the parameter form.
I know how to append fields to text, but how do I deal with the variable length? I want to place text on a report and inside the text I have data from two different fields. It works great except that my fields are 35 characters long. If the data fills the entire field it looks great, if the data is only 10 characters long, I have a huge gap between the end of the data and the text that follows. How do I fix this?

When I run the report the second line is shortened and the last two words are moved to the third line. Because I have a carriage return behind those two words, this then moves the original third line to the fourth line. Why does Oracle Reports do this when there is plenty of room and it looks fine in the layout?

My dynamic logo has some min and max movement position, Say in the below diagram my dynamic logo min movement position is line no 6 and max movement position is 9.
Suppose i have only 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 items then LOGO should fit in the line no 6, if i have 6 items then logo should come in the 7th line, if i have 7 items then logo should come in the 8th line ect.,like that max 8 item will come in the report, if items are 8 then logo should fit in the 9th line number.

Well i like to display the Values in Boiler Plate/Text. For Example, i have Report with Address Columns. for Tin No: i have Hard coded as TIN: 34XXXXXX01 and i like to change this hard coded item as TIN: 34XXXXXX02 so during Runtime if the input is changed the above item to be changed.
Inputs given in Report Parameter;
if the input is given as 81
TIN: 34XXXXXX01
if the input is given other than 81
it should print as TIN: 34XXXXXX02

For any field that should be by default right-to-left (arabic), the reading order is changed when entering the field, but the keyboard is not changed to Arabic automatically. The user has to type ALT+ Shift to manually modify the language.
I worked before with Forms 2000 and Forms 6i (in client/server mode only), it was working fine. Is it impossible on Web Forms? Must I use a Java Bean? If yes, is there something existing to perform what I need?

View 1 Replies View Relatedwe have 2 databases with AR8MSWIN1256 characterset (arabic). our client machine has English windows installed. our .NET application, which runs on the client machine, using ODAC and it reads and writes from one db to another db. We have no problems with nvarchar fields containing arabic, but with varchar fields it seems that it reads the data just fine - we can see it in GUI.but when it writes the data to the second db, arabic becomes question marks. We tried to set client NLS_LANG in registry to AR8MSWIN1256 and to WE8MSWIN1252. It doesnt work.
