Report Gives Correct Output In Previewer But Not When Deployed

Feb 19, 2009

A report we developed gives correct output when run in the report designer's previewer (paper layout). But when we deploy the report in the web server, give the same inputs and run it it gives the wrong output. I.e. it shows extra rows that should not be there.

Why do you think this is? We are unable to locate the problem source.

Forms :: Open File JavaBean For Web Deployed 6i?

Feb 5, 2008

I want to use dialog for selecting file in Fomrs 6i.I attached d2kwutill.pll into form, i uploaded d2kwut60.dll into <ORA_HOME>/bin and coded WIN_API_DIALOG.OPEN_FILE to open file. Everything works fine on the machine I'm developing, the open file dialog works and it returns file name. But when i upload form on remote machine where i access through the web it won't work.

I uploaded d2kwutil.plx on remote machine to the directory where forms reside. This is when I attach library without storing full path of it which is in my case c:someFormsDir - note! on remote machine Forms reside on d:Forms, and on local machine I have only c: HDD D: is cdrom and i can't change drive letters.

I also try to upload d2kwutil.plx in c:someFomrsDir on remote machine although forms there reside in d:Forms, but on local machine library(and forms) reside in c:someFormsDir.

None of two above examples work.

I upload d2kwut60.dll in <ORACLE_HOME>in direcotry - doesn't work. I even upload d2kwut60.dll in orahome2in direcory, doesn't work. On my local machine d2kwut60.dll is in ORA_HOMEin where ifsrv60.exe can be found, the same i do on remote.

When I puch button to open dialog for choosing file Internet Explorer freezes.

SQL & PL/SQL :: To Build A Hierarchy And Output It Into A Sub-report

Feb 26, 2010

I want to build a hierarchy and output it into a sub-report. Since the data in few hierarchy fields exceeds 4000 characters and therefore m getting the ORA-01489 error and the entire report was failing.

So i have used user aggregate function to print the out put. I have also used row_number() to print sequence in query output.

the query that i am using is

SELECT pr_id,
REPLACE (REPLACE (twadmin.STRAGG2(distinct RPAD (to_number(curr), 2, ' ') || ')' || NVL (DECODE (medical, NULL, clinical, medical), 'UNKNOWN') || '###' ||
RPAD (' Causality as per rport ', 50, ' ') || ': ' || reporter || '###' ||
RPAD (' Causality as per report2 ', 50, ' ') || ': ' || hospital || '###' ||
RPAD (' Dechallenge', 50, ' ') || ': '|| dechallenge || '###' ||
RPAD (' Rechallenge', 50, ' ') || ': '|| rechallenge), ',', CHR(10)), '###', CHR (10)) causality
[code]......

the output of the query is

ID Causality
-- ------
3755101 )Blisters (Blister)
Causality as per report1: Probable
Causality as per report2: Possible
Dechallenge : Not Applicable
Rechallenge : Not Applicable
2 )Mental status changes (Mental status changes)
[code].......

but the expected out put is

ID Causality
-- ------
3755101 )Blisters (Blister)
Causality as per report1: Probable
Causality as per report2: Possible
Dechallenge : Not Applicable
Rechallenge : Not Applicable
[code]........

but it should be as

1)
2)
3)
..
..
..
10)
11)
12) for the values in the causality field

Forms :: Print Report Output To Local Printer On Button Click

Apr 19, 2007

In Sales Order Form there is a print receipt button. In current situation On Clicking the 'Print Receipt Button' it submits a XML Publisher report(PDF output) to the concurrent manager. Currently to print that report i need to go view--> requests--> view output and then print. According to my new Requirement i need to print that report directly to local printer on one simple Print receipt button click in form.

I am trying to call the printers on server using custom.pll. The report is running successfully but it is not printing output to the local printer. I need to print the report to the local printers based on responsibility. Local printers are available on apps server.

Is it possible to print the document using custom.pll? Is there any other alternative to print the report on simple button click in form.

I searched many forums but i found customizations on form level. I am trying to customize the form using custom.pll. I found many examples like URL..... but i don't think i can use these practices in custom.pll. ADD_PARAMETER & RUN_PRODUCT dont work in custom.pll. I need to complete this requirement immediately.

Environment: Apps 11.5.10.2, Forms 6i

Here is the code that i am using in my custom.pll.

if (v_form_name = 'OEXOETEL' --and v_block_name = 'LINES_SUMMARY'
and name_in('parameter.ACTIONS') = 'PAYMENT_RECEIPT' )THEN
l_organization_id := Name_In('PARAMETER.OE_ORGANIZATION_ID');
l_order_header_id := Name_In('ORDER.header_id');
select to_number(oe_sys_parameters.value ('SET_OF_BOOKS_ID')) into l_sob_id from dual;

SQL & PL/SQL :: How To Select Correct Record

Sep 17, 2013

I have a table of below structure:

CREATE TABLE Emp_addrs
(
EMP_ID NUMBER(15) NOT NULL,
ADDRESS_ID NUMBER(15) NOT NULL,
SITE_USE_ID NUMBER(15) NOT NULL,
SITE_USE_STATUS VARCHAR2(1 BYTE) NOT NULL,
SITE_USE_CODE VARCHAR2(30 BYTE) NOT NULL)

Insert Script code :

insert into Emp_addrs values ( '1207' , '1846', '2342','A');
insert into Emp_addrs values ( '1207' , '1846', '2343','I');
insert into Emp_addrs values ( '61618' , '165200', '261449','A');

[Code]...

A combination of emp_id & address_id can have multiple site_use_id's. I want to select the max(site_use_id) where site_use_status ='A'.
Now Site_use_status can have either = 'I' or 'A' value.

For a combination of emp_id and address_id , there could be cases when there is no record with site_use_status ='A'. In such cases I need to select the max(site_use_id) (and obviously site_use_status ='I').

Just to clear my requirements, out of the above records I want the following records:

'1207' , '1846', '2342','A'
'61618' , '165200', '261449','A'
'1003' , '1004', '1007','A'
'1005' , '1010', '2002','I'
'2005' , '2010', '3002','A'

PL/SQL :: Calculating Correct Offset For SQL

Nov 22, 2012

formulating sql query

INVENTORY_ITEM_ID     TRANSACTION_COSTED_DATE     TRANSACTION_TYPE     R
123     28-06-2012 21:36     Intransit Shipment
123     23-07-2012 01:25     Sales order issue     28-06-2012 21:36

SQL & PL/SQL :: Extract Correct Value For Child Records

Mar 22, 2011

Test case: drop table test;

create table test (id number, last_name varchar2(15), first_name varchar2(15), empno varchar2(15))

select * from test;

insert into test values (143,'frank','kadel,watson','j2098,k09876');
insert into test values (143,'steve','kadel,watson','j0987i,kuy765');
[code]....

The requirement is as follows: I need to split the rows by first_name and assign the respective empno in the results child rows if there is any.

For example:- Where id = 143, the resultset should be like this.

ID LAST_NAME FIRST_NAME EMPNO
---------- --------------- --------------- ---------------
143 frank kadel j2098
143 frank watson k09876
143 steve kadel j0987i
143 steve watson kuy765

sofar, i am able to come with the query to split the records by last name but unable to find the way to extract the respective empno and assign to the splited records correctly.

SQL> select id, last_name, EXTRACTVALUE(x.COLUMN_VALUE, 'e') first_name, empno
2 from test,
3 TABLE(XMLSEQUENCE(XMLTYPE('<e><e>' || REPLACE(first_name, ',', '</e><e>') || '</e></e>')

SQL & PL/SQL :: Selecting Correct Record From The Table

Sep 26, 2013

I have a table with following structure:

CREATE TABLE ID_comments
(
ID CHAR(10 BYTE) NOT NULL,
S_COMMENTS VARCHAR2(255 BYTE),
P_COMMENTS VARCHAR2(255 BYTE),
C_COMMENTS VARCHAR2(255 BYTE)
);

For each Id, I can have multiple records.

Below is the insert script of one of the ID:

Insert into ID_comments values ('0813654254','','JR/0813653606 single','');
Insert into ID_comments values ('0813654254','','JR/0813653606 single','');
Insert into ID_comments values ('0813654254','','JR/0813653606 SINGLE','');
Insert into ID_comments values ('0813654254','','JR','');
[code].......

Now I want to select only one record from this table for an ID, which will have "not null" values for s_comments,p_comments,c_comments columns. If for some ID , there is no "not null" row for any column, then pick up the "null" row/value for that column.

Correct SQL Language For Oracle / Toad

My colleague sent me a sql script to copy and execute in Toad for Data Analysts (see attached). Once I execute I get error messages on the date and a few other lines. My question is should I completely rewrite the script?

I would rather have this in a grid format anyway with the same data instead of how this script is pulling. I'm very green when it comes to this (if you didn't notice) and need some insight esp. on the date format considering the date column has 10 digits i.e. 1209105576.
