Oracle Warehouse Builder 11.2 - Deploy To New Repository?
Feb 24, 2012
I have a big probleme with owb 11.2.
1. I have export MDL file from owb 10.2
2. I created owb repoisitory on server where I have installed my database 11gr2.
3. I have installed OWB 11gr2 on another machine.
4. Imported MDL file to new repository.
We plan to deploy oracle EBS R12. what are all the components needed to build this infrastructure. ex. Oracle 11g database, oracle 10g application server.
also which solution should be deployed to ensure the Enterprise single-Sign On (ESSO).
I have been facing issues deplyong OEM 11g agent on Oracle 10g Target databases. I have installed OEM Agent 11g which is functioning perfectly. Now i am trying to deploy management agent 11g on Target databases which are a Oracle 10g RAC system of 4 node on Oracle enterprise linux 64 bit. Below is the error log..

i want to use Graphic builder for make a chart in report builder. how can i use them for create a chart report? i need to see some samples for create my project. put a sample of .OGD and .rdf
I am running emca -config all db -repos recreate command and recreating the repository. Doing so I am getting error while uploading the repository. The Drop and Create is going fine. The exception that I am getting is :
CONFIG: Error uploading configuration data to the repository oracle.sysman.emdrep.config.ConfigurationException: FATAL Configuration Exceptions

And the emca config file is showing exception with i18N jar file.

why this exception is coming while uploading the reporsitory.
I am using Oracle Form Builder and Graphics Builder 6i. In Graphics Builder I create a graph from this query view but in result my result is reverse which i want..
============================================================== Create or Replace View V_Mnth_Attn as select emp_id, max(nm) name, max(cid) cmp_id, max(dpt) dpt_id, min(case when to_char(dt_attend,'dd') = '01' then abrr end) "D_1", min(case when to_char(dt_attend,'dd') = '02' then abrr end) "D_2", min(case when to_char(dt_attend,'dd') = '03' then abrr end) "D-3", min(case when to_char(dt_attend,'dd') = '04' then abrr end) "D-4", [code].....)
because i want values in graph of all columns but i got only employee id on values and on get all values on x axis .
Trying to translate FMB (Base Language-English Translation language-French) . Have followed all the steps as given in a metalink Note:70117.1
Create a project and module and add a version and add a translation and then export the strings to same fmb
As per the note I should see the french labels etc when I set the NLS_LANG as FRENCH_FRANCE.WE8ISO8859P1 and run the form But I still see the English labels.
What am I missing ,
-- The note points out to install French Fonts but I don't know which fonts to install and how to install them from ? -- Also Do I need to select a french font and script using Edit > Change Translation Font in the Translation Editor before exporting the strings ?
My data warehouse application involves partitioned tables where indexes are originally unusable on the last partition and only built until the next partition is created. We have a query tool that our users use to query this table that has an option "include not indexed data", which is essentially telling the tool whether to include that last partition in the query. IF this is checked, and they are filtering against on of the indexed fields, there is the potential for an Oracle error stating it tried to use an unusable index so our tool basically builds the query like this:
select ... from ( select ... from table where partition_key < (last usable partition key) union select /*+ NO_INDEX */ ... from table where partition_key >= (last usable partition key) ) where index_field = :value
I have had a difficult time getting reasonable data to test this myself, so I'm asking the question here:
Is Oracle probably pushing that outer filter into the inner individual queries in the UNION? If we were to move the index_field filter into the inner query against each of the individual queries in the union, would it make a difference performance-wise?
i want to use oracle translation builder to translate forms and reports from English into Arabic i run run the script SQLBLD and create new db connection an finally create a new project when am trying to import module i got the error NX-00201
I am using Oracle forms builder 10g version. Since last week, I can't open layout editor of any of the forms using my builder tool. I tried rebooting, restoring, creating new form etc. Some times it works, but after a couple of hours the issue returns.
i tried to call Report Designer 5.0u Editor (MRD) it is not supported Oracle tools products from form builder Ver6i i try to use RUN_PRODUCT built-in but is not work, how i can call products not supported by oracle like Crystal Reports XI , Report Designer. I located my file in my local PC C: empVD.mrd
I am trying to build a data warehouse for Consumer Price Index and so I have downloaded data from the Bureau of Statistics. It is in excel format and since I am working with Oracle Warehouse Builder I have converted it to .csv file so that I can use it as a data source.
Question1: Is it practical to use single .csv file as a source of data for a data warehouse?
Question2: I have 3 dimensions tables and a fact table. The dimensions are one for the Region(as the date is organized in region, states etc),two is the consumer goods and services (as the data is organized in groups of goods and services, services/goods types) and finally time(year and month),
Now how am I going to do the mapping here?Is it possible to do a one to one mapping here as all data required by the dimensions is located in the .csv file.
Before I begin, I want to clarify that I am newbie in the administration of data warehouse.I need to know how to calculate the sizes of the archive and redo on data warehouse DB, in order to make an initial sizing of the BD on disks level.
We are working on a Data warehouse (ard 50G ) architecture with the following acquired environment:
Single server X3650 M4 Dual CPU ( 16 core in total ) with 48G ram Oracle standard 10g x64 Windows 2008 x64 128 SSD x 8 IBM ServeRAID M5110e SAS/SATA Controller
Due to budget concern, we will be running the App server(Business OBjects 4.0 w/ Tomcat and DB server on the same machine. ) We have a user base of around 30 ppl on the app server.
We intend to have external redundancy using IBM raid card on raid 10 configuration. I wonder what kind of disk config yield better performance if we only have write update in the morning and 95% read for the rest ?
Raid 1 for OS (128SSD x 2 including DB logfile ) Raid 10 for DB server ( 128 SSD x 6 )
I heard ASM provides better disk management but just wonder it increase performance in anyway.
The following code is a stored procedure I plan to use to populate a Data Warehouse dimension using data from two OLTP tables which already exist in my database. Notice that in my cursor select statement, I calculate an attribute using substr and instr, and I also assign a true or false value to a flag using a CASE statement.
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE populate_product_dimension AS v_Count NUMBER := 0; v_NumRecs NUMBER; /*Declare a cursor on the following query which returns mulitple rows of data from product and price_hist tables*/ [code]....
In my mind, Product_Code is declared correctly in the Cursor declaration Select statement.
How I can maintain a replication scheme from a production database and a standby. I was watching the advanced replication methods of Oracle, but what I want is in the evening to run a process and modify the database incrementally and thus leave until the next night.
And the server I want to allocate to the standby database, also implements other processes, so my settings would be:
Production: Oracle Database 11g Linux 5.5 Standby: Windows 2003 Database 11g
Maybe that data is important, let me make clear that what I want is that the database is updated incrementally.
I am soon engaging in a project where we will deploy three triggers to each table in a customers live database. One each for Inserts,Updates and deletes.
These triggers write or update a row in a separate table on a different schema.
We have experienced locking issues on these tables previously with SQL Server. Are there settings we can look at to improve performance?
I'm trying to deploy the schema using DATAPUMP API. The user from which the schema get deployed has the direct privilege of CREATE USER (not through role). But got the insufficient privileges error.
Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/USER ORA-31685: Object type USER:"SCOTT1" failed due to insufficient privileges. Failing sql is: CREATE USER "SCOTT1" IDENTIFIED BY VALUES '4EBB0DDE3C79FE47' DEFAULT TABLESPACE "USERS" TEMPORARY TABLESPACE "TEMP2" PROFILE "APP_PROFILE".
But the user get created successfully when run the CREATE statement manually.I have created the user manually and again run the deployment procedure. Got the below error for ROLE_GRANTS.
Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/ROLE_GRANT ORA-39083: Object type ROLE_GRANT failed to create with error: ORA-01932: ADMIN option not granted for role 'EXP_FULL_DATABASE' Failing sql is: GRANT "EXP_FULL_DATABASE" TO "SCOTT1"
The user has EXP_FULL_DATABASE with ADMIN Option and IMP_FULL_DATABASE with ADMIN option direct privileges.which privileges the user needs to deploy the schema successfully?
I planing use latest APEX listener and Apache with mod_jk on new server.I wonder what are pros and cons use APEX listener standalone comparing when deployed to J2EE container e.g. Glassfish? URL.....
