Heterogeneous Connectivity :: Database Link Between Oracle11g Express Edition And MySQL using Odbc
Nov 8, 2012
I am using oracle 11g express edition and MY Sql database How to establish database link between them using ODBC gateway. I am using ODBC gateway Mysqlodbc connector.
I have installed unixodbc 2.3.1, postgres odbc driver (psqlodbc-07.03) and dg4odbc 11.2..On querying : select sysdate from dual@dblink_postgresql, the following error occurs:
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message: [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Can't open lib '/oracle/psqlodbc/lib/libpsqlodbc.a' : file not found {01000} ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from DBLINK_POSTGRES
Similar error appears in the trace file as well.
[unixODBC][Driver Manager]Can't open lib '/oracle/psqlodbc/lib/libpsqlodbc.a' $ isql -v postgresql postgres postgres@2012 [01000][unixODBC][Driver Manager]Can't open lib '/oracle/psqlodbc/lib/libpsqlodbc.a' : file not found [ISQL]ERROR: Could not SQLConnect
However the file is present in the location and has no permission related problems.

Oracle 11gR2 Linux 6.x Sybase 12 (on Windows) unixODBC 3.2.x Sybase Client 12 ------------------------
Given the following files or structures that are important to the proper operation of the ODBC Gateway connecting to a remote Sybase database:
listener.ora tnsnames.ora initmydblink.ora ( my version of the initdg4odbc.ini ) dblink (not a file but the dblink in the Oracle database) odbc.ini odbcinst.ini
What files (and what properties within those files) may/must be changed if the remote Sybase db and system is different (i.e. the Sybase database source has been changed to something 'new')? For example, I can that the odbc.ini file is going to have to be alterer to point to the new database server IP address, database port, database name?
select from the postgre databse works just fine (however when i select data column alone it returns as date, if i select it together with som condition in where clause it returns varchar).
-- this runs ok select t."idbill", t."idpoint" from "crm"."bills2points"@dl_carecloud t ,"crm"."bills"@dl_carecloud brg where 1=1 and t."idbill" = brg."idbill" and t."idbill" = 9685; [code]....
What are the steps required to change an ORACLE stored procedure (on a AIX/UNIX machine) using OTG to connect to a DB2 database, to an ORACLE stored procedure that uses ODBC or JDBC connectivity?
All I need to do in the stored procedure is a simple insert statement into a DB2 table.
What kind of ODBC/JDBC driver do I need on the UNIX machine? unixODBC?
What would be different in the ORACLE stored procedure for it to use ODBC connectivity rather than OTG.
I am trying to configure HS for Excel file. I am getting following error:
SQL> select table_name from all_tables@ODBCEXCEL; select table_name from all_tables@ODBCEXCEL * ERROR at line 1: ORA-28513: internal error in heterogeneous remote agent ORA-02063: preceding line from ODBCEXCELHeres my setup: [code]....
Oracle 11g on linuxdestination : ms sql server 2005 i need to create the db link from oracle to ms sql server to view the tables , is it posibble without configuring the gateways( as looks like it is licenced product)
I am working on oracle and pl/sql since some time. so just a novice. I don't know much about sql server or transact sql, etc..I have a requirement to create an interface between Oracle and sql server.
we have a database on oracle and another on sql server. my requirement is to create an interface between oracle and sql server and see how can I update one (or more) tables (I am guessing using pl/sql) on sql server.

oracle server NLS_CHARACTERSET is UTF8 and mysql server Character set is UTF8, how should i configure the parameters HS_LANGUAGE(initsid.ora) and CHARSET(odbc.ini)? now i configure the CHARSET = UTF8 and HS_LANGUAGE=AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P15,but the sql query reslut like this:
SELECT "id","name" FROM "accounts"@LNMYSQL _______________________________________ xy-20120712-00016728 é士焱
we have microsoft sql server, oracle gateway server (11G) and database server (10.2.0.5) we already make the full setup, and it's working.
we create materialized view into oracle server to read a data from sql server, but the refresh of MV take long time so we are planing to create the materialized view into oracle gateway server.
create MV into oracle gateway server?i mean i don't want to download oracle database instance for only one MV.
i have created the DB LINK from Oralce 11gR2 to MS Sql Server 2005,able to access the view of Sql Server from Oralce, but the Columns which have Datatype nvarchar(max) in Sql Server am not able to access through DB Link.
Just installed Ora 10g Express Edition. It has a sample database. But is there a rather larger database outside that I can download and import into Oracle for some learning reasons?
am having problems starting Oracle Database 10g Express Edition on Fedora. Here is what I did in order to start it:
[root@x1-6-00-c0-9f-bb-ba-57 ~]# /etc/init.d/oracle-xe start [root@x1-6-00-c0-9f-bb-ba-57 ~]# xhost + access control disabled, clients can connect from any host
Is it possible to use Database authentication in APEX through database link, and how? Also is it posible to read roles from users through database link?
I have a question regarding db link. I have a query that uses a database link, i speed it up by adding the DRIVING_SITE hint and it worked when executed from
sql*plus or pl/sql developer.
It returns results in 3 seconds or even less. However, when i put this query back into the APEX application, specifically into an interactive report page -- it runs for 3 mins!
I have a requirement where users will select an instance (db link) from an apex LOV and the data in an interactive report will query based on the db link selected. I can use a db link in an interactive report query but only if I provide the exact name of the link. If I do something link select * from foo@:P12_ DBLINK it doesn't work. It seems my only option is to use something like apex_collection.create_collection_from_query and then I can build my query with dynamic sql and use a variable for the dblink name. Then I just create an IRR based on my collection. Does that sound like that correct approach and/or am I missing anything?
Now I have a question : I had Application ERP (use Oracle 10g) and another Application PLM(use MSSQL) , I want to integrated this two application, but I do'nt know how to begin ? is this any document can study? Beside , Is Oracle 10.2.0.1 transparent Gateway for MSSQL is free?? or charged? if free , where to download?
I would like to install Oracle Express Edition on Linux. I have some troubles on x64 architecture of Linux with win32 progs that runs via wine. And I need Oracle for developing. So, I would like install x32 Oracle Express Edition, but I can't find it anywhere. Is it exists.
Why is Oracle Express Edition 32x exist for windows, but there is not Oracle Express Edition 32x for Linux? We are using widely Oracle 10g. And there is many special difference with 11g. But there is no anywhere 10g version. Where can I download it (for Linux)?
I would like to develop a system with Oracle 9i as the database and PHP 4/5 as the front end. I am not able to establish the connectivity to the database. What should I do now ?
We have a 2 node RAC installation on IBM AIX 5.3 with Oracle Standard Edition. We need to create a manual standby database (becoz Standard Edition does not allow Dataguard confign). Can we do this on a different platform (eg: Linux/Windows). This is to make use of existing servers for the standby environment.
I am attempting to connect to an Oracle 8i database via the Oracle 9.02 ODBC driver and I am receiving the following error message upon testing the connection in WinXp's ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box: "Unable to connect SQLState=IM004 [[Microsoft]][[ODBC Driver Manager]] Driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_HANDLE_ENV failed" .
I am running Oracle Client 9.2 on a P4 machine running winXP.
we have a database available in UNIX machine A which can be connected from client in UNIX machine B through port 1521. If we give ping command from UNIX machine A to B or B to A, 0% packet loss, means connection established properly through firewall in port 1521.
Now we are setup one more UNIX machine C and installed a client here. This machine is available in different group, means if i give ping command from machine C to A, 100% packet loss. But from machine A to C, connection established with 0% packet loss.Because of this, when we tried to connect to a database from client in Machine C to database in Machine A, we got "time out" error.
My query is: 1. Is this because of not opening of port 1521 through firewall? 2. If so, is it enough to open port 1521 through firewall when we connect from machine C to A? 3. Any additional setup is required in firewall apart from opening of ports?
need to know how to connect remote database (ie my office oracle database) from my personal laptop. Using TOAD Software. me with the step by step procedure, and what software's I have to download.
I'm using following connection string: +connectionString="Driver={Oracle ODBC Driver};Server=someDb;Uid=useruidr;Pwd=password"+
when I call method "Open" on "OdbConnection" I get following exception: +ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified+
"someDb" is specified correctly in tsnames.ora, "...client" and "...clientin" are added to PATH environmental variable ORACLE_HOME is set to "...client"
I have Oracle Client 11.2.0.3.0 installed Operating system is Windows 7 32 bit
When I change Driver to "Microsoft ODBC for Oracle" it works fine. However I want to use Oracle ODBC Driver.
I am having a application which is on Widows NT Operating system.I am using Oracle 10g Database, Developer suite 10g And 10g Application server.
My application uses Run_report_object to generate reports.Run_Report_Object is called in forms and Report server is configured in the same Application server where FMX are placed.
The report generation was working fine as long as oracle default login was used. When i created a form to handle login on my own, Report server is throwing "Unable to connect to database" error. My login forms takes the parameters from user and calls default logon command in on_Logon trigger.
