I need Sequence generate in each row in tabular style form

(I dont want to use sequence because when i delete the row its conceder delete row in sequence )
I created a block for EMP table on tabular style. if in first line empno entered is 1then i don't want to allow the end user to enter 1 in second line. but when-validate-item is not working because first_record and next_record is not allowed. I need to validate before saving the data into emp table and immediately after empno is entered into empno item.
View 16 Replies View RelatedWhen I build simple tabular form in APEX 4.2 it displayed 10 rows per page by default. When I changed that number in Number of Rows field to 15 nothing happens. Again only 10 rows per page were displayed. Next field on the right to Number of Rows is Number of Rows (Item). Tabular form works as expected when I use this field and define number of rows with hidden page item. So workaround issue (bug?) is easy. Is this some kind of bug or I miss something obvious?
View 1 Replies View Relatedhow do you generate serial numbers? i have an invoice where i have to add items, so i want the numbering to start from 1 everytime i start a new form and increment by 1 as i i enter a new record. For this i have put my code in when-new-record-instance but problem is if i delete a record and enter a new one, the serial number starts from the nex number.
For ex. if i have 4 items with serial numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and i delete the item at no. 3 and add a new item , the serial number comes as 5.

By default number that "starts" with a leading zero with decimals - zero is removed. 0.49 => .49
I'm adding for e.g. the mask "FM990D0999". 0.49 => 0.49
Ok this is fixed.But if I have an integer without decimal. 1 => 1.0
If I change the mask to FM990D9999 1=> 1.
I would like to have a zero leading when it's 0.49 but also no decimal when it's an integer => 1

when ever i am executing the form i want to see the serial number generated in the display item and when i inserted a new item or row it should show the corresponding rownum.

I have a data block with hundreds of records. I display data from the block on a tabular form. One of the items on a block is a "Employee Id". I also have a search button on a form. It lets the user enter "employee Id" and press the search to find the employee in a tabular list. Everything works just fine FIRST_RECORD and NEXT_RECORD commands do the job of finding. When the "Employee Id" is found I use Go_Item to focus on a found record. My question is how to make the found record to be the top/first item displayed in a tabular form. I spend two days searching forums for the answers. Unfortunately this is a user requirement and I must find a solution.

I need to query above data with a column "Srl_Num". Its serial number and serial should like 'AA1','AB1'. In serial number is last digit 1 is "Ctn_Num" Column Value. First Letter 'A' of serial number is 'A' and second letter of serial number will change. When it reaches till 'Z' Then first letter will change.I mean if serial number is 'AZ1' Then next serial number will be 'BA1','BB1','BC1' and so on.

In my form I have a submit button, when i click on it a sequence number to be generated and displayed in a text box.
I have created a sequence and tried inserting into table, it works fine however it's not getting displayed in form.
Note: Tried giving sequence.sequence_name.nextval in initial value of the text box, didn't work showed FRM-11324 error.

1) I make a change to column 3 and press submit. The values in columns 1 & 2 (that were not changed) are overwritten with null during the update (submit). Column 3 is saved correctly.
I deleted my tabular form and re-created it thinking that I may have trashed something. But it appears that is the way it works. How do I prevent the unchanged editable columns from being overwritten with nulls?
