How to focus on current record in oracle forms.
for ex:- I have 10 records in line level.i want to focus my cursor on particular like (5th record) how to possible in form.
Is there any built-in like current_record?
I have problem about displaying current records with same table(tbl_pawnitem). I have 2 transactions which are the pawned transaction and for sale transaction. and both transactions save into tbl_pawnitem table..i want to display only in my list the for sale transaction without deleting the records of pawned transaction. what condition i will use?

li have a winxp enviroment i have already downloaded and installed "IMAGING FOR WINDOW"(GLOBAL 360) but despite this its not working same error is still there .
one more thing why imgscan.ocx is not registering in winxp.
I have one requirement i.e i want to make a particular item as mandatory for the current record in the tabular form.
so i have written code as below:

This code is not effecting qty field. If i write set_item_property built-in that item becomes mandatory.But it's not effecting at current record level.It's effecting block level.
So how can i make a field as mandatory at current record level?
i m using oracle 10g 10.2.0.2 version.i create a form and using check box on this form.when i click this check box then loop is using behind it.and current cursor is going to last record
i want if i click 4 record then cursor is still showing on 4 record mean i click which record after using loopmy current cursor is showing on that particular record

I have two tab like 'TAB1' and 'TAB2'.
Inside TAB1, i have 3 text items and in TAB2, i have 3 text items.
When cursor leave from TAB2's Text Item:3, then focus to be Set on TAB1.
I have used the following coding

But it not working.

I have created a form in Oracle Forms 6i that utilizes a tabbed interface. Each section of the form has different modules to create a quote on the end page. As far as the logic goes, I have it complete. However, I would like to choose the tab that is in focus, and I can't find a place to change this in the property panel. What am I missing? I don't want it to focus on the last tab which is the totals page, when it should focus on the first page where you enter the data.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe thing is i am generating a report in Excel through forms and excel template in 10g. After generating the Excel trough my code and Macros, i.e save excel, close excel and open excel.
After the excel report which got generated is opened the focus is not coming back to form, it keep on going busy and busy

When i am using exit_form, the focus is coming back but the excel is not opening again.
I have a delete button at the bottom of the form and have two blocks on top of it. I need to know which block i have the focus on or selected the record on pressing the delete button so that I go to that block and do a delete_record from that block. I came across :system.trigger_block which says it gives the name of the block where the cursor was located when the current trigger initially fired. But whenever i use it only returns the name of the block the delete button is located in. Instead i wanted to know where the focus of the cursor was or which record was selected in the above 2 blocks to go to that block and delete the record.

The calculation of estimated_missing column for current month needs previous month numbers (as commented inside the code below). I want the output like the first table. Notice the records start from January, hence estimated_missing for January can't be calculated, but for the the rest of the months it can be done by simply changing 'yr' and 'mnth' (commented inside the code towards the end).

The code does calculate correct number for 'estimated_missing' as I run the code for each month, but the problem is while updating the current month it also erases the record for previous month. E.g. as can be seen below, after I updated April the column only has the record for April, previous month record is gone, similarly updating March removed February, etc. I can't understand why it's happening!! Here is the output I get:

I have an interface composed of five elements:
1.display_item (primary key)
2-list_item (foreign key) / / dynamic list :this is the cause of the error
3-lis_item (foreign key) / / dynamic list
4-text_item
5-button (insert commit)
when I click the button, an error is displayed:
FRM-40508: ORACLE error: unable to INSERT record.in detail: ora-02291 integrity constraint Violated - parent key not found
Note:
-the elements of two lists already exist in the parent table!!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the search screen in my form so after searching if i select the row by using the button it will navigate the first tab page that is "gas" screen here if i tried to change the value like update and save the form it is not allowing me to update the value raising the error message "oracle unable to insert the record". if i see the "display error" in menu it is having the select statement with error "unique key violation error ora-00001".

I have a fairly standard Purchase Order form which contains pre-loaded data (been uploaded from an XML file).When the Purchase Order is processed, the form updates a Price History table only if the Price on the PO_Details changes.The code for updating the price history table is contained in a PRE_UPDATE trigger on the PO_Details Data Block.
No other data changes on the PO_Details table.I now want to change this so that the Price History table is updated even if the price does not change i.e I want to create a history record for each record on the PO_Details irrespective of whether it was updated or not.
Is there an alternative trigger that I can move my code to (ie move it from PRE_UPDATE) to some other trigger that is fired for each PO_Details record even if there is no change.
I create a data block on a table when I am inserting new record only one record have been saved. Last record no longer exist.

Our current approach is to have a shell script that will get and insert the hostname into the table and the form will just query from the table to get the hostname, but that approach has involved too many modules.
Is there an easiest way to get the hostname?
