i am getting error when iam starting enterprise manager GUI dbcosole,its not displaying the graphs of HOST CPU and active session graphs instaed its giving me error such as java.lang error and null point error below the graphs.
i stop and start the dbconsole from services and from command prompt and rebooted the server,but still showing the same error..did open in other kernals such as mozilla and google still the same issue..

I am using Oracle 10.2.0.1.0. My intention is to create a new database instance.
Here are the steps I have taken,
1. Using DBCA, I created a new database instance, oracle sid = MYORCL0318
2. I created the tablespaces for this instance.(I obviously have not imported any data into this database yet.)
then, I went to Enterprise Manager,
Login = sys
password = xxxxxxx
role = SYSDBA
After I login, I would get an Error like this
java.lang.Exception: Exception in sending Request :: null

I am trying to use Database Replay in 11g Release 1 using Enterprise Manager. In the last step it asks for 'Host Credentials' to start the capture. But when i give the username and password for the host, it throws error as 'Invalid username/password' all the time.

I am having a problem in setting Preferred Credentials in OEM.
My env:
O/S: Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.3
OEM: 11g Grid Control.
My OEM is running as expected. I have a few target database instances on different hosts. I can login and monitor all these database instances. Now I am trying to set Preferred Credentials to hosts but none is working. I am doing this as:
1. OEM Console->Preferences->Preferred Credentials.
2. For my host I enter normalusername, normal password, privileged username, privileged password.
3. Then I click on test
I get the following error "ERROR:Connection to TD3OEDB01A as user oracle failed."
I can connect to TD3OEDB01A as oracle user and root user. I am entering correct passwords.
Even when I try to set Preferred Credentials to the same server where my OEM and Repository DB is running (same machine) - it does not work.
There emoms.trc file contents looks like this:

I'm not a DBA, but I've inherited an Oracle 11g database on a Linux Red Hat 5 box that I am now responsible for. I've had to relocate it, and my host name has changed. I've muddled through a few changes (network & listener changes), and the database seems to be working a- ok.
My problem is that the OEM doesn't seem to be working now. I don't think the dbconsole is running. When I try to launch it, I'm using the command line:
su - oracle - c "export Oracle_SID=databasename;/u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db1/bin/emctl start dbconsole"
I'm getting the error: EM Configuration issue /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db1/hostname_databasename not found (obviously replace the hostname and database name with the appropriate names)
The hostname however, contains the OLD hostname.I tried a quick method of copying the folder, and changing the name to include the new hostname, but that didn't work.

In one of our cluster environment host 1 has 30+ targets. We are trying to add the targets in the grid. But while doing Agent Synchronization targets are not getting populated in the host..
Checked the log file of the same. Getting error as below..Not sure how to fix this.

We have the Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10.2.0.5. We recently upgraded our Databases from 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.4 and since then we are having this problem.
Whenever i click an Agent on the Grid Control it gives me this error: "Communication between the Oracle Management Service host to the Agent host is unavailable. Any functions or displayed information requiring this communication link will be unavailable. For example: deleting/configuring/adding targets, uploading metric data, or displaying Agent home page information such as Agent to Management Service Response Time (ms)."
I get the same error when i try to configure a host or a database.
Don't know what is wrong

I have installed OUI( Oracle universal insaller) and the with DBCA(Database Configuration Assistant) i have installed the database. Before DBCA completion of Database it give error message like database control not running. When i press OK the DBCA completed and database installed but where it shows the database control url it shows database url is null. when i try to give this url http://sweetdba:1158/em it shows error. why the url is not working. 11g database is working and connected.

I'm trying to install Enterprise Manager Grid Control 11gR1 - Windows2003 32. On the "Connect to Oracle Database" step 5 when installing a new Enterprise Manager System, I get an Error window that states:
"ERROR: SQLException null Resultset
Cause: Verifying whether database is valid for this install, using the given credentials has failed.
Possible Reasons:
1. Credentials provided may be incorrect
2. Listener may be down
3. Database may be down

My problem is that when i sign in on Enterprise Manager page ( URL.... ), i don't see that green up arrow that status is UP (and also those charts), but status: Agent unreachable: URL....
I tried to do what is specified in the Metalink(also here: URL.....), but the problem persists. And that metalink note (317242.1) applies to EM Grid Control (maybe that solution works for EM dbconsole also). So i don't have a Grid Control.I tried to stop dbconsole, then start it and then start upload agent ( emctl upload agent), but i got:

The last week or so, the job has not ran. I finally got some time today to take a look and when I try to manually export the schemas, i get the following message after the first screen (where you choose Schemas and your credentials are entered)
Validation Error - Examine and correct the following errors, then retry the operation: Error - IO error occured.
A few weeks ago i changed the password for sysman and dbsnmp because the backups were not running and after i did that, they ran for a few nights. The only other thing is our system admin for the server changed some user access for the C:Oracle folder, but I still have full control.
I am in the ORA_DBA group and i have "Logon as batch job" selected for my account.
I read at one place to go to Preferences - Preferred Credentials and test the host username and password. When i do this i get the message : "Connection to server as user XXXXXXX failed" so I am thinking it has something to do with my user account, but not sure what i need to change.

I am configuring the Backup Settings through EM. It says 'An error has occurred while configuring the backup settings.'. When i click on 'View Error Details' it shows:

I cant figure out the problem.. I have also created the Disk Backup Location.

I have installed database 10gr2 on Red Hat linux 5.4 but cannot use enterprise manager. When i launch the page it shows ALL SERVICE are down ( Database , LISTENER) but all these services have been started manually. I dropped the old repository and created a new one but getting the following errors in the logfile:

I have a problem when I install oracle 11g: I did an installation on a win2008 r2 server and everything works fine, I did another installation on another server in the same network as a test, but at the end of the installation I get an alert that says:
start database error control .....
Executing set oracle_unqname and then emctl start dbcontrol.
of course nothing happens.
dbcontrol_nome the service instance will not start. checking the file in your home directory I always acts everything is in place. I reinstalled windows to eliminate all the checks made, repeated installation and here appeared the same problem.
question: can exist 2 oracle installations on the same network with the same name db? I currently have two installations of the same name with oracle db 10

I am attempting to make a job on an active database and I keep getting the error "An error occurred checking if the script file directory exists. Correct the error and try again. Error message: Agent Unreachable"

i have already give the grant option cnnect,resource to scott but it is not connecting to enter prise manager console of Oracle database 11gR1. i am getting this error while connecting "The application requires more database privileges than you have currently been granted. when i am giving scott the dba rights then it is connecting. but i cann't give dba rights to scott.so, how/what is the specific command to give permission scott for connecting to enter prise manager console.

I found a thread that reported a similar issue and was directed to Oracle Support Document 353843.1 . The suggestion was to adjust the /etc/hosts file, but I don't see anything wrong in the file:
