Application Express :: Web Services - Replicating Data From One Instance To Other

Jul 3, 2013

I'm basically experimenting with the concept of replicating data from one instance to the other. Using this thread as a guide, I was wondering if I could create a service on an Apex 4.0 instance, and have an application apex.oracle.com consume that service?

Application Express :: Defining Proxy Server For Web Services

Dec 5, 2012

I'm trying to create a web service via the WSDL wizard (Apex 4.0.2). We are behind a firewall and connect to the internet via a proxy server. The proxy server requires authentication with a username and password. How to include the username and password in defining the Proxy Server in the Application Definition page or optionally in the alternate location in the Manual Web Service wizard page?

I assume the base definition for the proxy server is [http://]host[:port][]

Application Express :: 4.1 Restful Services Give HTTP 404 If Cookie Is Not Sent Along

Nov 12, 2012

When I call a classic report that is exported throuh restful webservice, result depends on whether I also send cookie or not. In the first case, access is enabled, in the latter case, HTTP 404 is returned.

Restful access is enabled in the instance. Having an app with ID=101, page 9901 that is public, a classic report called MYREPORT on the restful side, the following call is issued:

/apex/apex_rest.getReport?app=101&page=9901&reportid=MYREPORT_ID&parmvalues=123445&output=json

If my browser send the cookie below with the request, I get back the result. If I delete the cookie from my browser, the result for the exact same apex_rest call is HTTP 404: Not found.

Cookie: ORA_WWV_USER_64731425336707=04893186A373057F5F1E1FCCD33113FA; PUBLIC_ORA_WWV_USER_64731425336707=-1; ORA_WWV_REMEMBER_UN=MYNAME:myworkspace

Details on my configuration is as follows:

Database: Oracle XE 11g, 11.2.0.2.0
Apex version: 4.1.1.00.23_en
Platform: Linux x64
HTTP is handles by XEXDB as folows from lsnrctl status:
(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=kivi.omikk.bme.hu)(PORT=8080))(Presentation=HTTP)(Session=RAW))
Service "XEXDB" has 1 instance(s).
Instance "XE", status READY, has 1 handler(s) for this service...

Application Express :: How To Update Application From One Instance To Another Without Losing SIR

Aug 21, 2013

We have several prod instances and many applications on each of these... and interactive reports saved by many users. Each prod application have its own ID, distinct from the dev application ID.

Until today I used the apex_application_install inside the first wokspace only, and it works fine, but I need to update applications on every instances. It seems the only way to keep a saved report during an update is to use the same application Id (use the app n°200 to overwrite the n°200).So it means the only available method is : release the dev app on the dev workspace ; export 50 apps from it and import those 50 times, maybe more in the future.

My configuration :Oracle Standard or XEApex 4.1.1OHS

Restarting Oracle Services Through Services.msc Is Faster Than Manual

Restarting oracle services through services.msc is faster then manual (In command prompt).

Even If we have heavy transaction on the oracle database But we can restart the database within minutes by using services.msc But It will take more time in command prompt(sql>shu immediate). So shall we assume here that services.msc is using shut abort command while restarting the database?

Application Express :: Second LOV Data Depends On Selected Data Of First LOV?

Jul 14, 2012

In my page, I have two items(type Popup LOV): P2_APP and P2_MOD and I've created two LOVs for each item. What I want is that when I select one value in first LOV in second LOV I'll get data that is related with select value in first LOV.

My table logic in database is ok, and select statements are alright.

I think that select statement in second LOV is not fetching data from first LOV item:

select MOD_NAME as display_value, MOD_CODE as return_value
from MODS
where APPLICATION= *:P2_APP* <-------- this is first LOV item with data previously selected
order by 1

SQL & PL/SQL :: Replicating Records With Cartesian Join

Dec 24, 2011

Table script:

CREATE TABLE TEST_ITEM_BU_ID
(
CCN VARCHAR2(100 CHAR),
SKU VARCHAR2(100 CHAR),
BU_ID NUMBER
)

select * from test_item_bu_id;

CCN SKU BU_ID
------------------------------
M10000616-10502414545
M10000600-11437414545
M10000205-113380
M10000205-113390
M10000600-114370

The requirement is to replicate the bu_id records with bu_id=0 as bu_id=414545 ( there is no lookup available) so the same table should act as a lookup table to populate bu_id for the records where bu_id=0

i.e., here it will replicate for the sku set with bu_id value=0

M10000205-113380
M10000205-113390
M10000600-114370

will be replicated against

M10000616-10502414545M10000600-11437414545

so the output should be :

CCN SKU BU_ID
------------------------------
M10000205-11338414545
M10000205-11338414545
M10000205-11339414545
M10000205-11339414545

The below query is supposed to do this.

select a.ccn,b.bu_id,a.sku,b.sku
from test_item_bu_id a ,
( select distinct ccn,sku_num, bu_id
from test_item_bu_id
where bu_id in (414545) and CCN in ('M10000') ) b
where a.bu_id = 0 and a.sku <> b.sku and a.ccn= b.ccn

But we have wrong result here.

CCN BU_ID SKU SKU_1
----------------------------------------------
M10000414545205-11338600-11437
M10000414545205-11338616-10502
M10000414545205-11339600-11437
M10000414545205-11339616-10502
M10000414545600-11437616-10502

How can we avoid the last record, i.e., SKU=600-11437 since it is already having bu_id no need to replicate it, but it is getting replicated since the extra record with bu_id=0 exist for the same sku.

Create Table Not Replicating SQL Select Results?

May 10, 2012

I have a SQL statement that returns a set of columns...but...when I create table as <SQL statement> I get the same columns but with 2 of the columns containing each others data, e.g:

SQL Select:

COL1 COL2 COL3 COL4
___________________________________
AND10200000017805CG-4CG-3

Create Table as <SQL Select>:

COL1 COL2 COL3 COL4
___________________________________
AND10200000017805CG-3CG-4

The SQL Select is correct and the Create Table As <SQL Select> is wrong.

Here is my SQL:

Create table ALTERNATENUMBERS as
SELECT ctry,
id,
MAX(DECODE(tp,'EN', RN)) EN,
MAX(DECODE(tp,'RN', RN)) RN,
MAX(DECODE(tp,'AN', RN)) AN

[code]....

Unfortunately I cannot give you any data (too much of it) and small scale testing works, it's only when I run it on the 11million records do I get some (not all), just some of the data being mixed up between columns.

Now, I've tried:

1. Using SQLPLus - no joy

2. Creating the Table and then inserting the data into a blank table - also no joy

3. Using a VIEW - no joy, listagg doesn't work in VIEW tables

I do understand that without data it's hard to replicate the issue but why this statement works as a SELECT but when written to a table has data anomolies?

Application Express :: Possible Data Loading Export Bug

Jun 8, 2012

I am using Oracle XE (11g) with APEX 4.1.1.0023 and Glassfish for the APEX Listener.I created a Data Upload set of pages and things worked great. I then exported the whole application and imported it into a new environment that was the same except the schema name was different. It was a different owner. I then tested the data upload in the new schema/environment and could not get the data loading to recognize the table. Upon comparison of the Shared Components between the two environments I discovered that the imported application in the new environment was still looking for the original schema name. The name is not editable via the Shared Components page. I had to recreate the pages and have it create a new Data Loading object before things worked again.

Application Express :: How To Access Data Of All Users In A Page

Jan 23, 2013

I have installed APEX on my local machine, created a workspace, and added a few users with roles.

I am creating an application, similar to a Library app, where I have a table that stores Books information (BOOK_ID, BOOK_NAME, etc). I'd like to create another table BOOK_USER with two columns, BOOK_ID and USER_ID. BOOK_ID would refer to the BOOKS table, and I want USER_ID to refer to the table that stores user details of the workspace that I am using. The data entry would happen from a page that has two LOVs, one for book name (using BOOK_ID as the value) and another for user name (USER_ID, or whatever field APEX uses to store user's ID). Can I do that in APEX? I've found ways to access and authenticate a user for a page, but how to get data of all users in the workspace? In other words, how to get all usernames in a LOV?
