I'm using APEX 4.0, and i don't have access to BI Publisher for printing.
That needs to print off customer address labels.
I have a pl/sql query that gets the customer name and address and puts it into mailing address format.
Ex. Mike Smith
555 Oracle Dr
Los Angelas CA 40455
When i try to print from the browser, it prints really bad with the URL, page numbers etc.
These will actually print out on label paper, and they will be cut and used accordingly.
What i tried so far:
Manipulating the print CSS:
This worked slightly in Firefox, but doesn't work at all in Internet Explorer
Tried adding a third party friendly print button to the application. This doesn't work
I would even be ok for these to print to a PDF or RTF format to download then print off, but i don't have BI Publisher.
I have set up a label which interacts with our LIMS system. I have set up variables on this label which pull in attribute values from the available tokens. When the attribute value is null, the label is automatically inserting 'N/V' onto the label.
I would prefer for the variable to appear as a blank field on the label when the attribute value is null in the LIMS. can't find anything in the user's manual. Perhaps there is some setting where you can define what to display for null values. I can't seem to find any information on this.
i am using the Simple checkBox Plug-in from Plugins Repository. I am having the situation that i need to Display the Label of the checkbox in one line, after the check box symbol.
Up to now, i have managed to display the label, but it have leading space which i do not need and after the label, i am trying to put a Select List control, which i can't display just after it.Here is a picture of what i have achieved up to now: URL....
Here are my settings for the 1st item: URL.... Here are my settings for the 2nd item: URL....
The template for Page is: One Level Tabs - No Sidebar and the template of region is : Form Region / Above Content. The Regions are in Position: Page Template Body (3).I am using APEX 4.2.1.00.08 and Oracle EE Database 11.2.0.0.3 under Windows 7 64 bit Pro.
The end user can accessing from different department, when the user can see the report shown only their particular department rows only. each department have different column value and Header label .how can display the column header depend on the department user.
e.g. IR report view
Seq# -- Department -- date -- Subject/Customer Message 1 Communication done with Jony(from HR department) 2 low sales from East region(from Sales Department)
IN the IR report Table data structure.Heading_code value as LOV in IR form(1.Subject/2.Customer Message/ect...) and Column_value as Text Field.
Seq# -- Dept_name -- Heading_code -- Column_value 1 HR 1 Communication done with Jony 2 Sales 2 low sales from East region
Apex have limitation of one IR report in one page. so i could not create different Report region even i don’t want create another page due to the further functionality issue.
how to makea multiline label. I have couple of text fields and would like to have the label divided in two lines for each of them. I tried with new line character etc. however didn't succeed.
We have an issue after migrating to apex 4.2.1. We have a select list and use another couple of dummy items to be used as its label instead of giving the text value to the LABEL control. Only one of the dummy items is shown as a label for the select list conditionally based on another value. It was working fine with the earlier versions upto 4.1, but with the introduction of grid in 4.2, its now displaying the select list on a new row (ie the lable in one row and the select list on the next row).
However, we really would like to solve this by having a way to display the label of the select list either in "required format style" or as an "optional style". The display style should be determined only at runtime.
Example. Say P100_MY_SELECT_LIST is the select list
The label for this item is "My Select List Label"
I have another dummy item P100_DUMMY
if P100_dummy = 1 then the label "My Select List Label" should be displayed in red and with an * *My Select List LabelOtherwise it should be in black and without * My Select List Label.
I am building an application to edit database data through interactive reports. I would like to add a button to open a pdf file of the report, where the user can save or print it. I tried going to Shared Components>Report Queries and then create. I went through the steps but when I get to the end where it says "Test Report" I get this error:
ORA-20001: The printing engine could not be reached because either the URL specified is incorrect or a proxy URL needs to be specified
What can i do to fix this, or is there an easier way to do this?
I am using APEX 4.0.2.00.09
This app will be distributed to other computers if that makes any difference.
I'm using APEX 4.2 and trying to export some classic reports to PDF. I followed these directions to install BI Publisher: URL.....Entered these values in the Apex Administration Report Settings section:
Print Server: BI Publisher Print Server Protocol: HTTP Print Server Host Address: URL.... (also tried with localhost and failed) Print Server Port: 9704 Print Server Script: /xmlpserver/convert
Back in my Classic Report, I configured these settings in the Print Attributes tab:
Response Header: Report Settings (also tried with Print Server and failed) Print URL: f?p=&APP_ID.:7:&SESSION.:FLOW_XMLP_OUTPUT_R7671716059006280
I'm getting this error: report error: ORA-20001:
The printing engine could not be reached because either the URL specified is incorrect or a proxy URL needs to be specified.I have never configured PDF printing this way and am pretty lost.
I am using "Function Returning SQL Query" (as query is dynamic) to draw the bar chart (flash).
I am facing some issues while trying creating a BI report for this chart.
Issue is : In Shared Components -> Report Queries : Its only expecting an SQL Query.
Do we have any ways to define a "Function Returning SQL Query" over here ? Note that, If using a static SQL both charts / BI reports are working fine with out any issues.
I'm attempting to configure printing via the APEX listener and I'm struggling to understand it. I currently use Oracle HTTP server as the web server for APEX. I have installed the APEX listener and configured it. If I connect via the APEX listener, PDFs work correctly. If I connect via the Oracle HTTP server, I get an error with PDFs. Am I required to connect with the APEX listener for PDF printing? I thought I could configure APEX listener for PDF printing on the backend and still connect via Oracle HTTP server. I'm use APEX 4.2.3, APEX Listener 2.0.5, and Oracle DB 11.1.0.7.
I followed the directions to print a report using this documentation [URL]....where I setup a report query and a report layout and then add the url to a button that when clicked opens up the report in my chosen format. This all work very nicely. However, I need to update the table behind each record that gets printed and I cannot figure out how to couple the print request and an update process in APEX.
I have been learning to create pdf report with Apex 4.2 and BI Publisher 10 which I have been successful with. Now I like to learn how to create pdf reports using FOP thinking of the customers who will not spend money on BI Publisher. I have gone through the documents and procedures described in Java 4 Less.[URL] and [URL]. Configured Apex instance setting accordingly.
For default layout a tabular pdf report is created. I have created an xsl-fo file named Formatted_report.fo on same query and xml file from report query with BI Desktop. But when I try to print a formatted output with Formatted_report.fo report layout it does not work(J4LFOPServer ). but same layout with .rtf template works fine (BI Publisher Print Server).

I am working on forms 10g(version 10.1.2.0.2 ) with Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 on windows 2000 platform. My requirement is to dynamically get the label of the radio button item in a radio group.I am able to get the label of the radio group as shown below
Item :Radio group Label : Gender
IF m_type = 'RADIO GROUP' THEN m_label:=Get_Item_Property(m_Item ,label); END IF;
There two Radio buttons inside this radio group which are item : Radio button Label : Male
item :Radio button Label :female
What is the code to get the label of radio button(i.e) male and female ?
How will I get the count of radio buttons in a radio group at runtime?
I am trying create one Inventory label report with bar code ,This reports working fine stand alone,Once i am added this report on Oracle Apps concurrent Program ,Output came without bar code.
Does installation of oracle label security and data vault causes overhead? How about after installation and then register with database. How much overhead?
Note that I don't want to use it for now. Then what are the reasons for registering with oracle database?
We have integrated Oracle Access Manager 11gR1 with Oracle Apex 4.1. The OAM-Apex integration is working fine. Now we want an additional header variable to be passed from OAM to the Apex application. This new header variable will be user's sAMAccountName in Active Directory. OAM is integrated with AD and the AD users are successfully able to access the Apex applications.
The three header variables which are configure in OAM right now are: Header variable name Value 1. OAM_REMOTE_USER $user.userid 2. OAM_REMOTE_USER_EMAIL $user.attr.mail 3. OAM_REMOTE_USER_GROUPS $user.groups
We need an additional header variable as mentioned below: Header variable name: OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME Value: $user.attr.samaccountname
The new header variable was added in the OHS server's dads.conf file like shown below: =========== dads.conf ============= ... PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList HTTP_OAM_REMOTE_USER PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList HTTP_OAM_REMOTE_USER_GROUPS PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList HTTP_OAM_REMOTE_USER_EMAIL PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList HTTP_OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME
But we are not able to read the value of this attribute in the Apex application.On the Apex application, we have a text box which shows the value of this header variable. This textbox is attached with the following stored procedure call to fetch the header variable: =================== begin :P1_HEADER_VALUE := owa_util.get_cgi_env( 'HTTP_OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME' ); end;
The textbox shows the correct value if HTTP_OAM_REMOTE_USER is passed to the get_cgi_env method but does not shows anything when HTTP_OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME is passed to the same method. if I am missing some configuration to pass the HTTP_OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME haeder variable from OAM to Apex.
I have multiple application set-up using session sharing within the workspace.Technically all works fine, however it does not play nice with user behaviour.
Example: Users logs into APP_ID:100. Since he isn't authenticated yet, he provides user/pass and the APP_SESSION is authenticated. Now if the user switches using to another application (using a link provided in application 100) he gets redirect to APP_ID:101:APP_SESSION all is fine.
The session is already authenticated, the application shares the session and the user gains access to app 101 without having to authenticate again. All's fine!
However users don't behave they way. Instead of using an easy link in the application. They will use their own bookmark or type in the url for app 101 manually. That way the next application is either called with f?p=101:1:[SOME OLD SESSIONID FROM BOOMARK] or f?p=101 (with no further page or session info) In both cases instead of using the already authenticated session apex spawns a new session, which of course isn't authenticated yet thus forcing the user to authenticate and come complaining they have to login again.
Similar behaviour problems exists when the user opens a browser and tries to open both applications in each in a tab next to each other. Both tabs fetch there own initial session id and start writing it to the same cookie each in turn invalidating the other tab's session. These can lead to some fanatic ping pong actions. Thus it's impossible to open 2 applications sharing session in the same browser.
Is there any remedy for these situations? Can apex be as smart as for instance first trying to resume the session stored in the cookie and only if that session is invalid, start a new session?
how to use checkbox item, and trying to get checked options values via application global arrays. So, this may be quite simple question, but I'm completely stuck here...
When I was looking through various threads and guides, I've encountered checkbox corresponding array names like "g_f01" - "g_f50". And so far i saw that these names are derived from item name in generated HTML code, for example:
<input type="checkbox" name="*f10*" value="3" />
And this one stands for array name "g_*f10*".However, when I tried to do the same thing - i receive item name which looks like "*p_v04*", and therefore, I can't figure out, which array name should I choose to adress it properly.
APEX 4.0 Sometimes, I am getting the below error when I tried to logging into APEX workspace (after giving workspace name, User name and password), Expecting p_company or wwv_flow_company cookie to contain security group id of application owner.
ErrorERR-7621 Could not determine workspace for application (:) on application accept. I found some threads related to this but in different way not exactly when I am getting this error.
After 2 or 3 times, this error will not come and I can able to logging into workspace What is the cause for this issue??
Each time when I import an application into my workspace in local 10g XE using the APEX 4.2 Application Builder, I get the "ORA-02291, constraint wwv_flows_fk violated..". The application I whant to import was originally exported from [URL]. I found out, that it has to to with wwv_flow_application_install.get_workspace_id in the installation script, which obviously returns NULL and not my current workspace id as I suppose it should. I replaced wwv_flow_application_install.get_workspace_id by '<my worskspace id>' and then the import does work.
I have an application that I'd like to prevent activity in after a certain time of day, say 3pm. Is there any way I can force logout of all current users and then prevent re-login until 9am the next day (short of deleting all of their login credentials and then recreating them the next morning)?
We have developed an application for our clients, planning to deploy it in client server soon. we have plans to support the application in future,so we want to restrict the clients from any modifications. By Doubt is, 'build_status=Run only' alone, cannot protect our application from client developers to edit our application,
Because though we install our application as 'Run Only' at the time of installation in client instance,we can still import the original application and change the type to 'Build and Run Application',and run the new application as 'Build and Run'.(which is not supposed to) we want to make sure,if there is any way we can protect our application from modifications after client side installation.
