i'm trying to install Oracle Apex Listener but when i try to open the apex.war file is giving me an error:
$ java -jar apex.war
Failed to load Main-class manifest attribute from apex
i see in another topic that if i create a txt file inserting the MainClass: Main-Class that my error will disappear.
i'm using VM with OEL 5
In my Organization I am trying to install oracle ODTwithODAC112030 but one Error showing that is java virtual machine could not find main class program will Exit.

I have recently upgraded our test APEX environment from 3.2.1 to 4.1.1.00.23. Everything went smoothly - I have only one small but annoying problem. In both administration and administration services some background graphics are not displayed. This issue occurs only under Mozilla Firefox (in MS IE it OK). The application frontend is OK in both browsers.
Under Firefox, I inspected the sourcecode in Firebug and the relative links to images. e.g.
background: url("../apex/builder/bg-region-darkblue-r.gif") no-repeat scroll
show message "Failed to load the given URL".
somehow related to the fact that our application is accessed via apache proxy. Because when I open the administration and/or administration services page in FF directly on the server, it displays correctly (incl. images).
But the network (Apache proxy) configuration is exactly the same as in the previous version of APEX where we had no problem. Something must have changed in the sourcecode of the new version.
We have many many APEX applications in APEX 3.0 running on a 10.2.0.4 database that needs desperately to be upgraded. As a test, I've set up a clean 11gR2 database and copied the production APEX database into it via datapump. I set up APEX Listener, as I don't have any OAS sitting around and the EPG doesn't seem to be supported for APEX 3.0... the Listener doesn't say one way or the other.
When trying to log in, I get the login page, but it tries to reference files such as apex_get_3_1.js while I only have files such as htmldb_get.js in my images directory in production. I noticed it is looking for what appears to be 3.1 files instead of 3.0 files... which concerns me.
The APEX listener appears to be more than just a Java PL/SQL gateway.
Is there a minimum version of APEX the APEX Listener supports?
I turned on ARCHIVELOG in my main database, anticipating GoldenGate replications and standing up a physical standby database. However, during the process I forgot to create a new SPFILE for my database, meaning that the next time the database cycled, the archive log destination would revert to the Oracle default (rather than the mount point I had set up to receive them) $ORACLE_BASE/fast_recovery_area
. I discovered this because my database hung..... In looking at the ALERT LOG, I discovered that the logs were going to fast_recovery_area, and it had run out of room. OK, so I did an alter system set db_recovery_file_dest_size= 5G scope=both; at which point in time I was notified that no active SPFILE existed! I moved out all of the logfiles that were in the fast_recovery_area, but the database seemed to still think that it was full.
I've managed to get everything fixed and put back together, but my remaining question is: After I freed up all sorts of space in the fast_recovery_area, why did/does the database still think that area is full?
I have 3 main tables as projects, tasks, clients. Then I have a history table for each. I created a trigger on update/delete that takes the old records and inserts into the history.
Now, I need to retrieve the history but I have no clue how to do so. I need to join these 3 history tables with:
1. select from projects_history with projectID = 1
2. if no records, then go back to projects and get projectID = 1
3. select from task_history with taskID = 1
4. if no records, then go back to tasks with taskID = 1
5. select from client_history with clientID = 1
6. if no records, then go back to client with clientID = 1
where client.taskID = task.taskId and task.projectID = project.projectID.

I'm modifying a package which contains a function with different parameters (say cno, gno, pname etc) need to be passed though it and that function is called by the cursor later in the program. I need to create a cursor (select statement) for every class (a program set)...i.e. multiple select statements for a program set with different values. The parameters needed to be passed correspond to same columns in different tables...so do i have to refer those tables everytime i'm passing the parameters using a select statement? The Program accepts the parameters as an array (list of parameters) and returns a cursor and the program handles one program set (class) at a time. That parameter list will be in a loop..i.e. it will be repeated for every certain combination (say cno - pname combination). So ... How should i proceed and create a select statement with different parameters declared in the function of type string making it dynamic and returning them using ref cursor?

I created a sound,java file using Oracle9i JDeveloper, I compile it and the result is:
