I wanted to know the best utility in oracle to load data in crores from excel sheets in the database temporary tables in a minimum time.
Is sqlldr the best utility to use in this scenario or to use the parallel and append hint in the insert statment.
how much time the sqlldr and above mentioned hints take to load 10 crore data in the database table.

i want to load this in the Database using SQL LOADER in this format:

Basically i want the name, addr, phone from REC001 to be repeated every time i load REC002.
I am very much new to this vast world of Pl/SQL. Recently I have moved to pl/sql domain. I want to write a package to move data from Table A to Table B by looking up the table C. Bellow is skeleton of my package.
Table name: source_a
columns: X1,X2,X3,X4,X5
Target table name: target_b
columns:Y1,Y2,Y3,Y4,Y5
Lookup Table : lookup_c
columns : Z1,Z2,Z3,Z4,Z5
1) I have to load data from source_a to target_b.
2) If value of column X1(source_a) matched with value of column Z1( lookup_c) then only we will process the recordsmeans those records will be the valid records. Rest of the records will be dropped.
3) From the valid records If X2 != Z2 then call a procedure pk_rec.generate_Y2(X2) to generate the value of Y2
{pk_rec.generate_Y2 already existing no need to create) else take the records form Z2 and use it to load the y2.
4) From the valid records If X3 != Z3 then call a procedure pk_rec.generate_Y3(X3) to generate the value of Y3
{pk_rec.generate_Y3 already existing no need to create) else take the records form Z3 and use it to load the y3.
5) X4,X5 are directly loaded into Y4,Y5.
There is one table with data in ORCL1 database.I have created the table using create table statement in ORCL2 database.Now i want to insert only the data into table.
I know one method ... drop the table i created using drop table statement and then create the table with data using export/import.
Is there any other way we can load data into empty table?
How can i load the data into a new table from view,when ever scheduler runs in the night, the data gets loaded in to a view and data coming from different tables and i should load that data every day and i dont want previous data again.The data should be loaded along with view .

Structure of A will be like

I have one .mdb (Microsoft Access Database) file and it has some tables in it. I had load it once using toad. But now i have to load it frequently into the database. Is it possible using external table, so i can access that tables using "select" statement.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAt the moment, we were loading the file in our system serially. This is a very old and established system.We would like to incorporate parallel loading for our loaders to load data into the database.
Most of the issues would be due to multiple inserts happening due to the files being loaded in parallel. For some reasons, we cannot give regular commits untill the entire batch of items is processed in case the process needs to rollback. A file can contain different set of batch of items clubbed together for loading.
The issue here is untill the first file finishes loading and commits, the second file would just hang. In fact, mulitiple files might hang for the first file to finish. what can I do to overcome this?I tried to used "lock table t1 in SHARE ROW EXCLUSIVE mode nowait". When the leading process is doing inserts, the failing process will fail with a resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified. We would catch this exception and redirect that batch to an error file to be reloaded at a later date.

How to write control file to load this data into the above revenue table.
I'm going to backup this un-maintained Oracle 11g server in my office. I'm being told it's never been backed up and extremely critical to our success so tomorrow I'll be performing my 1st backup of the database using RMAN. My question is if I connect to the Oracle 11g database and run the:

My question is the above sufficient for a safe full backup? We only have the one single target database called 'cqdb' which houses several schemas. Can you tell me if this is correct? I've shut the database down so it's in a cold state so I don't think I need to configure the FRA (Flash / Fast Recovery Area) but I honestly don't know. This is my 2nd time on a Oracle DBMS.
What about the 'archivelog' files? Do I back those up? Do I need them in case a recovery? Also what about the 'controlfile'? Do I need to back those up as well as the mentioned above?
I have installed oracle 11g R2 in windows and i ve created database of vesrion 11.2.0.1.0. I tried to upgrade the database to higher version using the dbua utility . But in this utility source & destination both is showing as 11.2.0.1.0. upgrade the database from 11.2.0.1.0 to higher version using the dbua utility

I met some problems with data pump tools. We have a large db(oracle 10.2.0.5, single instance on hpux v11.11, data about 8TB), while we wanna migrate to Linux ia 64bit, 10.2.0.5 RAC. The migrate window is around 20 hours, so the window can NOT be assign more hours.
As we consider if impdp & expdp work can start together, that will be save a lot of time. So I wonder if there are any ways to implement this or any other ways can speed up and make the data integrate better?
I faced the following problem while exporting tables by using data pump in TOAD.
"Oracle Data Pump Utility executable must be specified."
Does EM have a utility that I can get to scan a set of host machines and their disks and tell me what oracle products are installed? Sort of like that common inventory tool used on windows desktops, but just for Oracle products.
If not EM then any third party tool or some other Oracle tool?
I am using oracle 11g release2 and I am not able to find data pump utility in SQL developer.if I need to install it. I am new to this utility.
