Server Utilities :: SQL Loader With WHEN And DISCARD?

Sep 25, 2012

My data file contains records with RECORD_TYPE '01', '02', '03' and '04' in position (30:31) I use sql loader to load this data into a table. I need to load ONLY rows with RECORD_TYPE ='04'. I have to output all the other rows into a file, so I decided to use DISCARD file. Now, those with RECORD_TYPE ='4' have to be loaded into different columns depending on the value in position (267:268).

So, my ctl file should look something like:

WHEN (30:31) = '04'
into table MYDATA
WHEN (267:268) != 'O '
into table MYDATA
WHEN (267:268) = 'O '

and whatever is not '04' goes to discard file.

I tried to use

into table MYDATA
WHEN (30:31) = '04' and (267:268) != 'O '
into table MYDATA
WHEN (30:31) = '04' and (267:268) = 'O '

but I don't get the right result in terms of the discard file.

Is there any way to put together all these conditions?

Server Utilities :: SQL Loader Discard Non-numeric Chars

Sep 30, 2011

Creating a table

CREATE TABLE NEW_DATA
(INK_DATE DATE,
INV_ID NUMBER,
CUST_ID NUMBER,
AMOUNT NUMBER)

Loading data into the table with

LOAD DATA
CHARACTERSET WE8MSWIN1252
INFILE 'input/NEW_DATA.dat' "str '
'"
BADFILE 'log/NEW_DATA.bad'
DISCARDFILE 'log/NEW_DATA.dsc'

TRUNCATE INTO TABLE NEW_DATA
FIELDS TERMINATED BY '|'
(INK_DATE date "YYYY-MM-DD",
INV_ID,
CUST_ID,
AMOUNT)

My problem is that there are some rows (about 1%) where the columns INV_ID, CUST_ID, AMOUNT are containing non numeric characters and they end up in the BAD-file as errors.

Is there a way to make them end up in the discard file instead so I don't end up with errors but discards?Or even better load then into another table looking like this

(INK_DATE DATE,
INV_ID varchar2,
CUST_ID varchar2,
AMOUNT varchar2)

Do I need to have a WHEN-clause?

Forms :: Force User To Save Or Discard Record Before Child Window?

Aug 10, 2012

I have created a form where the main canvas has number of buttons. When I click each button it will open a new canvas in a new window. User will enter some details there. now I want to force the user to save or discard the record before they leave that child window. The code I have written is

DECLARE
n_button_selection INTEGER;
BEGIN
IF :SYSTEM.BLOCK_STATUS = 'CHANGED' then

[code]...

But I am not sure in which trigger I need to write the code. When I am writting in post block it is behavior is becoming unpredictable and also APP_STANDARD.EVENT('KEY-COMMIT') does not work in post_block trigger. When I am writting this in ON close trigger then also it is not firing as expected.

Server Utilities :: SQL Loader And Control File

Mar 19, 2010

I'm having a problem with SQL loader and the control file. I want to load a delimited file. The script will eventually be automated where the file name is passed in to the script, it's not a static name.

It's a simple SQL loader Unix script that I have created as follows

Unix file called test_load

# Auto Load
#
#
export data_file=/dev/test_$1$2.csv;
export ORACLE_HOME=/u01/oracle/product/10.2.0;
export ORACLE_SID=XXX;
export PATH=$PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/bin;

sqlldr userid=XXX/XXX data=$data_file
control=/dev/cntrl/test.ctl
errors=99999
bad=/dev/bad/test_$1$2_$$.bad
log=/dev/logs/test_$1$2_$$.log

the top of my control file is as follows

load data
truncate
into table test
fields terminated by "|"
when record_type = 'AA'
(

running at the prompt ./test_load myload 20100319

The following error occurs

SQL*Loader-350: Syntax error at line 5.
Expecting "(", found keyword when.
when record_type = 'AA'
^

I believe the format of my control file is correct but for some reason it won't load.

Export/Import/SQL Loader :: 500 Unable To Open File

Jun 24, 2013

Lots of email alerts reporting SQL Loader failures (the data is actually loading) but I want to prevent all these email alerts being fired. We have an SQL Loader script that is failing regularly with this error, however the data does end up in the tables so it must run subsequently succesfully the log files are cleared out quite quickly so it is difficult to track the errors. Why is there no filename just a.day reference in the error log file?

Below is the shell script  I do not have much script experience, so I am unable to see how I can alter this...could I add some kind of exclusive lock check to see if I actually have access to the file before SQL Loader tries to Load it?

Server Utilities :: SQL Loader Handling Different Date Formats In Same CSV File?

Jul 11, 2011

I have another interesting SQL Loader issue. I have created 2 prior topics RE: "Trapping SQL Loader summary counts" and "Using Sql Loader issue". This new issue is along the same lines, but unfortunately the same input csv file has a date field that is has a different input format..

The 10G Oracle Table looks like...
---------------------------
CREATE TABLE PTLIVE.MODULE_CSV_LOADS
( MODULE_ID NUMBER (20),
MODULE_TAGNUMBER VARCHAR2(100),
MODULE_SERIAL_NUMBER NUMBER (20,0),

[code]...

My initial control file looks like...
-----------------
OPTIONS (SKIP=1)
load data
infile 'J:GrowerRound_ModulesCrop2011ProcessedBatch_2011Jul12_081326_746563.csv'
BADFILE 'J:GrowerRound_ModulesCrop2011LogsBatch_2011Jul12_081326_746563.bad'

[code]...

The input csv data file (for this example) contains 3 records. The first is a heading record that is skipped. The 2nd record
is correct and the field entitled "GMT Date" contains a value of
"16/05/2011". The 3rd record, however, has a date of "2011/5/18", which get rejected by the above control file, as the output SQL Loader log indicates...

Record 2: Rejected - Error on table PTLIVE.MODULE_CSV_LOADS, column DATEPICKED.
ORA-01861: literal does not match format string

Now we will be receiving literally hundreds of these csv files and in testing I have found that when I open the csv file (the default is Excel), and Excel must alter its display, as all date appear 100% okay. However, upon opening the csv file with Wordpad, I discovered the dates in the same file had these 2 different formats. So the control file was attempting to concat the input csv file "GMT Date" in one format with the input "GMT_TIME" to load the output value into the Oracle table column
"DATEPICKED" ... but different date formats cause some records to be rejected.

It would be super if SQl Loader could use a IF clause or an OR clause to execute loading the date in one or more input formats. We only expect the 2 foramts DD/MM/YYYY or YYYY/MM/DD....however, there could be 6 different combinations in theory.

I thought about writing a Function or Procedure to analyst the input date and output a standard one to load into the Oracle column

Export/Import/SQL Loader :: How To Upload Linux File To DB Depending On Column Name

I'm using Oracle Database 11g R2 need to upload Telecom CDRs to the database on daily basis , it's huge data and changeable , an example of my file in linux Redhat 5 server as below ,

there is no problem with this i think i can use SQLLDR to upload this file , but the problem here the positions of the columns in the file could change depending on user behavior it could be the first row comes in the third row or any row and maybe more rows appears ,

locind = 0
origin_matrix = 4186603ec003ef01
Start_Date_And_Time = 03/04/2013 09:24:10
INDRtotalduration = 00:00:00
IMSI = 418666651000207

this is sample of the file i could be more than 100 rows , and the position of the field and field names could be change every time depending on the Subscriber usage , is there any way to upload the file but after checking the field name in the file and matching to corresponding column name in the table .

Export/Import/SQL Loader :: Sequential Data File Record Processing?

Oct 1, 2013

If I use the conventional path will SQL*Loader process a data file sequentially from top to bottom?  I have a file comprised of header and detail records with no value found in the detail records that can be used to relate to the header records.  The only option is to derive a header value via a sequence (nextval) and then populate the detail records with the same value pulled from the same sequence (currval).  But for this to work SQL*Loader must process the file in the exact same sequence that the data has been written to the data file.  I've read through the 11g Oracle® Database Utilities SQL*Loader sections looking for proof that this is what will happen but haven't found this information and I don't want to assume that SQL*Loader will always process the data file records sequentially.
