I have the problem with import in Oracle 8.1.7.The size of import file is 29600 kb and tablespace size is 16gb and when I try to make import oracle back this message:
IMP-00003: ORACLE error 1659 encountered ORA-01659: unable to allocate MINEXTENTS beyond 7 in tablespace DATA
The data tablespace is full. I think that the import file contains information about the original tablespace from which has made export. But I don't now how to resolve the problem
I have deinstalled Oracle database, ASM and oracle software. I installed the oracle software, ASM and database. I have seen the error in the ASM trace called
Errors in file /opt/oracle/admin/+ASM/bdump/+asm_gmon_10518.trc:

every day we have full backup of oracle database (9.2.0.1.0) on windows 2003 server. since couple of days i am getting following below error. i checked the solutions on google which talk about user quotas , i checked the user quotas by which i am taking full backup it is unlimited , even i tried another user which also have umlimited quota on its default tablespace still i getting below

While trying to import a schema using Data Dump, I am facing the following issue - UDI-00018 - Import utility version can not be more recent than the Data Dump server.Following is the version information of the source and target DB and the utilities :
Source DB server : 10.1.0.2.0 Export utility : 10.1.0.2.0 Import utility : 10.1.0.2.0
Target DB server : 10.1.0.2.0 Export utility : 10.2.0.1.0 Import utility : 10.2.0.1.0
its importing data fine upto some stage after that oracle gives the following error
Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/JAVA_SOURCE/JAVA_SOURCE ORA-39097: Data Pump job encountered unexpected error -1423 ORA-39065: unexpected master process exception in DISPATCH ORA-01423: error encountered while checking for extra rows in exact fetch ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 123404 bytes (QERHJ has h-joi,kllcqas:kllsltba)
ORA-39014: One or more workers have prematurely exited. Job "SYSTEM"."SYS_IMPORT_SCHEMA_04" stopped due to fatal error at 11:42:03
I though its due to lack of memory, so i have increased pga_aggregate_target=512MB to 600MB still i am getting a same error.
From some day I have this error during export data pump:
Connected to: Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options ORA-31626: job does not exist ORA-31687: error creating worker process with worker id 1 ORA-31687: error creating worker process with worker id 1 ORA-31688: Worker process failed during startup.
This error is random, if I retry after few minutes the expdp work correctly.
I have a procedure which i wrapped using the oracle 11g wrap utility. If i execute the wrapped procedure using jdbc i am getting an error of 0RA-00900 invalid sql statement.
The procedure is having basic sql statements only. The same procedure if i wrap using Oracle 9i and execute using jdbc it works fine.Is there any change in Oracle 9i wrap utility and Oracle 11g wrap utility.
I tried even Oracle 10g wrap it is also not working fine.
im trying to migrate Sybase 12.5 to oracle 11G R2 on linux all tables are fine expect one which fails with error
"SQL Error: ORA-01841: (full) year must be between -4713 and +9999, and not be 0 01841. 00000 - "(full) year must be between -4713 and +9999, and not be 0" *Cause: Illegal year entered *Action: Input year in the specified range"
i have change the data type from CHAR to VARCHAR2 etc as for the datatype date shows as date on the tool - I'm using sqldeveloper from oracle.
I am having issue with IMPDP on ORACLE VIRTUAL COLUMNS.I am having following table with Virtual column defined with Not null. Expdp is fine without any issue.
DDL : ------ CREATE TABLE alert_hist ( alertky INTEGER NOT NULL, alertcreatedttm TIMESTAMP(6) DEFAULT systimestamp NOT NULL, alertcreatedt DATE GENERATED ALWAYS AS (To_date(Trunc("alertcreatedttm"))) VIRTUAL NOT NULL
When I do the import (IMPDP) it got failed with the following error.
. . imported "TESTSCHEMA"."VALART" 359.1 KB 4536 rows ORA-31693: Table data object "TESTSCHEMA"."ALERT_HIST" failed to load/unload and is being skipped due to error: ORA-39097: Data Pump job encountered unexpected error -1
After that I dropped the Virtual Not null column and recreated that column with Nullable.
DDL : ----- alter table alert_hist drop column alertcreatedt; alter table alert_hist add alertcreatedt DATE GENERATED ALWAYS AS (To_date(Trunc("alertcreatedttm"))) VIRTUAL;
After that I took the expdp and impdp , it went fine with out any issue.
I am trying to use on trigger to get the code of an DDL operation, I use the code supplied on orafaq (orafaq.com/scripts/plsql/auditdll.txt) as base code and I added a collumn objcode and a call to DBMS_METADATA.GET_DDL to save the object code, however I am receiving an Oracle error ORA-00604.See code below.
This error is raised when I try to create a new view on the schema, on objects that I already have and I changed something usually the error did not happens, how to get the object code of one object when it is created, or changed.
I am using Oracle 11g

One of our production database we are getting error "TNS:operation timed out" from unknown port in alert logfile. Need to check why TNS error is occurring to these unknown port as our listener is running on default 1521 port. Also to inform that host=192.191.118.24 itself is the same database hosting server IP.
TNS-12535: TNS:operation timed out TNS-12535: TNS:operation timed out ns secondary err 12606 ns secondary err 12606 nt main err 0
I want to perform some operation with case statement. But I am confusing with ora 00932 error. My question is what data type should I use while performing case function?
SQL> select * from samp;

My big question is
different datatypes, then use consistent datatypes. For example, convert the character field to a numeric field with the TO_NUMBER function before adding it to the date field. Functions may not be used with long fields.
// just I am trying to perform basic operation. why oracle didn't support?
I am using a script to export my oracle database full backup and from few days my script is getting abended (Export terminated successfully with warnings). When I checked in log file and audit file I found below error:
EXP-00107: Feature (BINARY XML) of column XMLTYPE001 in table APEX_040000.WWV_FLOW_COLLECTION_MEMBERS$ is not supported. The table will not be exported.
For crosscheck I tried to create a table with XMLtype data type and backed up using exp and that was successful.
i am having a problem when trying to export my DB,i could run an import fine,i have ran the catalog.sql,catproc.sql,catexp.sql and utlrp.sql again. Is it because the client and DB are different? How can i solve this problem

I did an export from 8.1.7 and imported in 10g. All the tables were imported. I created all the users and gave them necessary grants. when i try to compile synonyms for this schema i imported,I get the following error in enterprise manager:
Failed to compile: ORA-00980: synonym translation is no longer valid
I cannot login to my application with these users even though they have all grants. I receive the following error:
My oracle is sitting on UNIX, i have a sql loader scripts which load the data in oracle at every 10 min and bad files is written into a directory. since the file names are same it overwrite the badfiles in case of error record. i can devise a code to write the bad file with different name. I want to write error record into oracle table, is this possible and how can i achieve ?
But gives the following error ORA-31693: Table data object "LOG"."DAILY_LOG" failed to load/unload and is being skipped due to error: ORA-00904: "YYYYMMDD": invalid identifier
I tried with simple sql with YYYMMDD and it works fine, the entry_date is a char field. in QUERY where i'm doing wrong here?
