I have 3 types list items:
1) :1 Day -> 31
2) Month: 1 -> 12
3) Year :1990 -> 2013
I want to check that the user has selected a valid date .. if not an error message will be displayed, for example: 31-02-2013: will be rejected
I have a set of store procedures that will construct the header and data dynamically. This procedure will return a CURSOR.Now, I will write a new procedure to export data file by calling the above store procedure.
a) is it possible for me to retain the dynamic header when I export the data out ?
b) use 1 export data file procedure to handle it without coding for each data file I want to export.
I have been testing manually creating the header. I am assigning the header string myself.
UTL_FILE.PUTF(fHandler, header_string);
and then use a cursor to loop through the data for each store procedure.
UTL_FILE.PUTF(fHandler, record_string);
Whats is the usage of log file in Import/export .If i use following command ,it exports successfully
exp scott/tiger file=check.dmp log=empc.log tables=emp
and if i remove .log from here it will also export successfully So why do we use .log in import/export.
Is it possible to identify what level of export by looking at export dumpfile .. whether it is a schema export,full export,table export,..
If yes.. how ?
I have to copy all the procedures in database to local folder and extension( or file type) of each procedure is ".proc".
I did tried with dbms_metadata but as there are 300 procedures it consuming time & I want separate file for each one.
select
dbms_metadata.GET_DDL('PROCEDURE',u.object_name), u.object_name
from
user_objects u
where
object_type = 'PROCEDURE'
AND object_name in( 'P1');
I am importing oracle 9i export into oracle 9i but after importing some tables I am facing error, what should I do?
IMP-00009: abnormal end of export file
IMP-00018: partial import of previous table completed: number rows imported
this table contains 12713206 records.
is it possible to import only one or two table from a schema export file or from a full database export file.

I am loading data file using SQL Loader in TOAD 10.5.1.3 in Oracle 10g using the control file below and loading data into 2 tables post1.thead and post1.tdetl. THEAD contains item level transaction and TDETL is detail level when a transaction has a discount or promo attached to for that item. When the

A particular THEAD value may have 0, 1 or many TDETL corresponding values.below is a sample data file. When the position 21 in the TTAIL has a value of 1 or 2, then we know that there is a promo or discount applicable to the ITEM (THEAD).

can impdp perform checks to see if dumps are valid ?how about old imp?if not, will it be safe enough to rely on the export log file? in another word is it safe to assume its all safe if there is no error or warning in the exp log?
