I want to get clear with one thing yesterday i installed oracle9i and dev 2000 to my client.
when they run one report they got stuck with pl/sql compilation errorrep-1247
when i checked that report in the report builder, in the query they are using some other table which is not belongs to that schema,then I give that schema.tablename and compiled, but this is coming for other reports also, then only i came to know that they are acceessin other schema also, how can i sort this out.
can i fix this by givin full access privilige or what privilige can i give to get full access of other schema table.
how can i check in the old database what are all the roles and privileges given to this user,
i have succusffly install webutil and also i did configuration also using this url

and i succussfuly upload and download .pdf using my form on my test database server my test database its a single database its version also 10.2.0.4.0 .but when i upload and download my .pdf file on my live database server using this same form its give me error while upload
my live database server its a RAC Database server its version 10.2.0.4.0 . i serach on google on this ora-06509 they told me
Cause: This indicates a version clash between some package distributed with an Oracle product and the product executable. Action: Contact Oracle Support Services.
but my question its my test database server and live database both server version are same its 10.2.0.4.0 just only its differece its test database its a single database server and live its a rac database server.
My tablespace contains two datafiles dfile1.dbf and dfile2.dbf on D drive of my filesystem. Now i copied these dbf files on pasted it on a location in E drive. Now i want my tablespace to use dbf files pasted in new location.
Will i have to Alter Tablespace Add Datafile with Reuse clause

how to play around with NDS dynamic sql and I'm trying to add a column on the fly.Basically the procedure is trying to take a table name, column name, and eventually a data type and adds it to a table.
It works fine without the bind variable for the column name, accepting the table name on the fly.As soon as it tries to use the column name I get an ORA-00904 invalid identifier exception.
Here is the procedure I'm using

It's been 2 days from now that I'm bugging with this kind of error in my manual dB creation. I used DBCA first but we had a default directory settings, that's why I resorted to create the db manually. The dB was already created and currently has a status of STARTED.. I cannot mount it due to this error:

I am installing oracle10 10.0.4 in windows server 2008 r2 sp1. while installing it is getting installed and when i start creating the database after accepting the default steps finally . while crating the error i get TNS:protocal adaptor error.

While connecting to one of the dev database I am getting following error:-
ORA-00257: archiver error. Connect internal only, until freed.
But when i am checking as sys user there is no archive desination defined in the db.I mean log_archive_dest locations have not been given any value.Where can I check Archive destination in this scenario.Is there any default place where oracle stores archive logs incase log_archive_dest is not given any value.
I am trying to install oracle 11g on windows 2003 ent with sp2 , where I am getting an error, The java runtime environment was not found at bin/javaw.exe. hence the oracle universal installer cannot be run.

We installed Oracle 11g on solaris machine but some of the configuration failed.
When verified in tracelog we are finding below error message:

We then tried to create instance but came up with below error:

When Oracle was installed, there was an error in the server's domain name (missing a "."). Is there an easy way to fix this domain name in the Oracle installation after the fact? I know about tnsnames.ora, pfile, system parameters, and I'm pretty sure I can do emagent -config. My concern is that the "Installed Products" would not like the fact that the domain name is now "abc.proj.org" when installation was done on "abcproj.org". The /etc/hosts file had "abcproj.org", and we want to fix it to "abc.proj.org".
I need to reinstall Oracle -- is there a better way?
I want to shutdown the database using shutdown immediate and startup the database using startup mount.
1.)My system is client system if I connect start--> program -->Accessories --> communication --> Remote Desktop connection (connect server system) , open Run type cmd after
Shutdown immediate (database is shutdown)
Startup mount (database is mounted no problem it's working fine)
2.) But if I, open Run type cmd in client system If I run same command, I'm getting below error (ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error).

When I try to log into my db with a specific user I get this message. Below is from the alert log. I can login as system just fine.
