how to create a procedure to display all the rows in a table.
I wrote the below PL/SQL but im hitting as below.
DECLARE
howmany NUMBER;
some_full_name login_user.full_name%TYPE;
some_login_id login_user.login_id%TYPE;
some_users login_user%ROWTYPE;

I am bit confused to display all the rows in a column using stored procedure like
In sqlserver:
create procedure test
as
begin
select * from table;
end
in sqlserver it is working perfectly.
In oracle:
create or replace procedure test
is
begin
select * from table;
end;
But in oracle i am getting an error like select * into something like that.I understand the error. i.e. i need to move the column values into variables.if it a single row then there will be no problem.i want to display all the rows in the table at one time.i can not use cursors.

How can we display the rows which are existed in T_SOURCE table and which doesn't existed in T_TARGET table using outer join.
My code is as follows.
CREATE TABLE T_SOURCE(sno NUMBER,sname VARCHAR2(20));

I have table as follows:
create table sample1 (
i number ,
j date,
k number)
insert into sample1 values (1,'23-Apr-2010',11)
insert into sample1 values (2,'22-Apr-2010',12)
insert into sample1 values (3,'21-Apr-2010',13)
insert into sample1 values (4,'19-Apr-2010',14)

I would like to get nulls , if there is no data for a date. As we can see , here i am missing the data for '20-Apr-2010'.
I did it through "UNIX" , but it's not efficient.
The data might be missing for the complete week also. I need to test in this way only for the last 7 days. I tried something like this:
select i, j , sum(k)
from sample1
where j in (select to_date(sysdate - rownum)
from dual
connect by rownum < = 7)
group by i, j

I has a table of structure of varchar2 datatype.

desired output is:

The table has single column & the values may differ,that is, they may have 1-2-3-...-n in a single row, but the desired output is to be in the rows as shown above.
I tried concepts of SQL up to my knowledge, but I failed. The query to be done only in SQL.complete this query.

I have to write a proc to display data based on user input for t_grp, and it should exclude grp0
So below is the proc I have written, and I want to display the report for all t_grp when user gives user_input as All or gives null. How can I acheieve this is in procedure.
table: target_data

, t_grp varchar2(30)
, t_data varchar2(50)

I have a table named PRODUCT (ID Number , ProductImage BLOB). I have inserted some records in. I want to create a form for user to view this table.
When I create Data Block, in Data Block Wizard, if I select option 'Table or View' to retrieve data, it's ok (Data type of item ProductImage is Image, when I run form and query, it display image normally).BUT, I want to retrieve data from stored procedure in a package. This is my package
PACKAGE my_pkg IS
TYPE my_rec IS RECORD
(
myID PRODUCT.ID%TYPE,
myImage PRODUCT.ProductImage%TYPE
);

I select option 'Stored Procedure' in Data Block Wizard, then select my stored procedure (my_pkg.Do_Query). Next I choose 2 columns from my stored procedure (ID, ProductImage). The wizard still applys data type of ProductImage as Image. I finish Data Block Wizard and Layout Wizard... run form, query and an error message display:
FRM-40364: The data type of item 'ProductImage' does not match the corresponding column in the stored procedure.
I try to change 'myImage PRODUCT.ProductImage%TYPE' -> 'myImage BLOB' in my package but still get that error.

In a table i have some duplicate rows
I can get it through this query : select PARTY_ID from XXWFS_CUSTOMER_EXT group by PARTY_ID having count (PARTY_ID) > 1;
Now for the records which i got for each duplicate row i want to update the second row with a specific value.. so that duplicate rows does not exist anymore
Ex: I got party id's 12, 14, 16, 18 two times each
Now as 12 is two times.. i want to update the second row of 12 with some x value same is the case for other values like 14,16, etc
how can i write a procedure for this

Below are the data for rows that I want to insert into CUSTOMER_PRODUCT table from a stored procedure.
Instead of making round trips twice to insert these two rows, I looking for a way to pass in the data for both those rows and then insert them from within the stored procedure in one shot.
The stored procedure will be invoked by Java and .NET.
Sample Data for CUSTOMER_PRODUCT:
ROW 1:
CUSTOMER_ID : 1000
PRODUCT_TYPE : PROD123
IS_MEMERSHIP : Y
IS_EMAIL_SUBSCRIPTION: Y
ROW 2:
CUSTOMER_ID : 1001
PRODUCT_TYPE : PROD123
IS_MEMERSHIP : Y
IS_EMAIL_SUBSCRIPTION: Y
Question 1:
Should collection be used? (or) is there any other approach that could be utilized?
Question 2:
Are there any performance concerns in passing collection and iterating it to fetch value to insert into CUSTOMER_PRODUCT table?
I'm running Oracle 10g.

I have created one procedure based on one table item master which has a field called item stock or non stock based on this i will fetch data from one of two tables .If its a stock item data will be retrieved from wip_main_acnt table and if its non stock it will pick from ns_main_acnt.my procedure is working fine but all i need is i just want to put an exception that if data is not found in one of the table based on the item selected.I am confused which one to be used whether no_data_found or notfound%.

As far as SQL is concerned, I am using oracle 9i and oracle sql *plus.

I wish to count all the qty for each pid.This is what I have:

This is my first post in this portal. I want display the details of emp table.. for that I am using this SQL statement.
select * from emp where mgr=nvl(:mgr,mgr);
when I give the input as 7698 it is displaying the corresponding records... and also when I won't give any input then it isdisplaying all the records except the mgr with null values.
1)I want to display all the records when I won't give any input including nulls
2)I want to display all the records who's mgr is null
Is there any way to incorporate to include all these in a single query..

I would like to format my output for the select query.

But I would like to get the output in the below format

I will need printing the column name. I would like to know how do we address the column name to print.
