SQL & PL/SQL :: Insert Using String Matches / Matching And Searching Match

Jul 3, 2012

i have three tables ot_cut_head,ot_cut_det and om_mc_master based on which fourth table ot_cut_opr and fifth table ot_cut_mc must get populated , Conditions are as follows

first one is based on job_no in ot_cut_head the selection criteria will be filtered,if the job number is like '%M' then type MISC will be chosen ,if job number is '%G' then GRAT TYPE will be picked from om_mc_master (Machine Master) and operations and machines based on this will be filtered.

Second all the cd_ps_desc will be taken from ot_cut_det and will be compared with om_mc_master to get their corresponding operation codes and machine codes , there can be 2 operations or 1 operation.

Finally if the match is found record will be inserted into ot_cut_opr and ot_cut_mc ,based on the criterias and what i want is the search criteria to be more flexible and if there are 2 operations 2 rows will be inserted and if one opeation is defined in om_mc_master ,then only one record will be inserted.

We have to make sure that if based on operation number stage will be populated ,if its first operation then stage will be 1 and if its second operation the stage will be 2.like previous operation also depends on them , the second operation will have the previous operation as first operation and so on.

CREATE TABLE om_mc_master ( mc_type VARCHAR2(12),mc_prof VARCHAR2(30),mc_prep_cd1 VARCHAR2(30),mc_mach_cd1 VARCHAR2
(30),mc_prep_cd2 VARCHAR2(30),mc_mach_cd2 VARCHAR2(30));
INSERT INTO OM_MC_MASTER VALUES ('MISC','TEE SCH','IR','HO','RE','HO');
insert into om_mc_master values('MISC','Vertical Brace','R','HM','I','HO');
insert into om_mc_master values('MISC','Pipe','IR','HO',NULL,NULL);
INSERT INTO OM_MC_MASTER VALUES ('GRAT','PL','RE','HO',NULL,NULL);
SQL> SELECT * FROM OM_MC_MASTER;
[code]....

SQL & PL/SQL :: Insert Records Of One Table Into Another - Literal Does Not Match Format String

Sep 30, 2010

I'm trying to insert records of one table into another using the insert into table with select logic.

I'm trying to convert a two character value using CASE statement:

CASE REC_TYPE
WHEN '00' THEN to_number('0')
ELSE to_number('1')
END "REC_TYPE"

The target field is defined as number(1,0) and the source field is varchar2(2).

I keep getting an ORA-01861 literal does not match format string error.

PL/SQL :: Searching String In A Table

Sep 9, 2013

I am using Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production.

I have a situation where I need to find the number of occurrences of a string that is present in a table having comma separated values. To explain with an example:

create table test_data ( textfield varchar2(100));
insert into test_data values('DM,HM');
insert into test_data values('EM');
insert into test_data values('AM,CA,CD,FM,ST');
insert into test_data values('LS');
  insert into test_data values('TQ,SP,AM,FM,ST,CA,CD');
insert into test_data values('TQ,SP,AM,FM,ST,CA,CD,LS');
insert into test_data values('DM,HM,LS');

 The data in the table test_data looks like  DM,HMEMAM,CA,CD,FM,STLSTQ,SP,AM,FM,ST,CA,CDTQ,SP,AM,FM,ST,CA,CD,LSDM,HM,LS Now I need to search"LS" in the table test_data. Basically, I need to find if "LS" is present at least once in any of the rows or not. I want to avoid looping here.

SQL & PL/SQL :: ORA-01861 - Literal Does Not Match Format String

Dec 6, 2012

I'm trying to do data mining on a web log which recorded one day web access information from a busy web server. I imported the data into Oracle Data miner, and created a table (WEBLOG). The idea is to create a new field, i.e. session, for the users so that each session could be thought as a representative of a user-intent (aka topic). Now based on this, data mining models would be used to cluster(group) the users based on their similarity. The first step is to prepare the data which involves using SQL queries. So first, all I did was to create a function for date and time. This is the following code I used,

create or replace function ssndate(p_date in varchar2 default '03-01-18',
p_time in varchar2)
return number
$if dbms_db_version.ver_le_10 $then
deterministic
$elsif dbms_db_version.ver_le_11 $then
result_cache
$end
as
begin
return trunc((to_date(p_date||' '||p_time, 'dd-mm-yy hh24:mi:ss')
- to_date('01-01-90','dd-mm-yy')) * (86400/2400));
end ssndate;
/

The function ssndate compiled successfully.The next step I took was to create a view through the following query,

create or replace view WEBLOG_VIEWS
as
select (select ssndate(LOG_DATE, LOG_TIME) from dual) as "SESSION_DT",
C_IP,
CS_USER_AGENT,
(CS_URI_STEM||'?'||CS_URI_QUERY) as WEB_LINK
from WEBLOG;

This was successful as well. The problem is in the next step where I try to do data grouping.

create table FINAL_WEBLOG as
select SESSION_DT, C_IP, CS_USER_AGENT,
listagg(WEB_LINK, ' ')
within group(order by C_IP, CS_USER_AGENT) "WEB_LINKS"
from WEBLOG_VIEWS
group by C_IP, CS_USER_AGENT, SESSION_DT
order by SESSION_DT
[code]....

the to_date function should be fine. In the data that I possess, the date and time are in no format. Example: 30118 and 0:00:09 respectively.

UPDATE Date / Literal Doesn't Match Format String

Nov 29, 2007

When I try to update a date column with this:

 UPDATE
        event_request

        REQ_EVENT_DATE = TO_CHAR(REQ_EVENT_DATE - INTERVAL '1' HOUR, 'yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi')
    WHERE
        eventID=123

Oracle returns this error:

 ERROR at line 4:ORA-01861: literal does not match format string

where line 4 is REQ_EVENT_DATE = TO_CHAR(REQ_EVENT_DATE - INTERVAL '1' HOUR, 'yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi').The REQ_EVENT_DATE field was originally populated with this stripped down query:

$date = '2007-12-25 08:35'; INSERT INTO (REQ_EVENT_DATE) VALUES (to_date('$date', 'yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi'));

So - what is wrong with the UPDATE query?

SQL & PL/SQL :: Linking 2 Tables Without Exact Matches

Mar 4, 2011

I have two tables as per attachement - TABLE_A has Vehicle details while TABLE_B has Address details:

I am trying to build a query in order to link the Vehicle Details with their Address Details.

I would require an SQL that links records in TABLE_A with records in TABLE_B when group_number are the same; however links with group_number '999' (for the same customer_number) if there are no exact matches.

SELECT A.*,B.*
FROM TABKE_A A, TABLE_B B
WHERE ((A.CUSTOMER_NUMBER = B.CUSTOMER_NUMBER AND A.GROUP_NUMBER = B.GROUP_NUMBER)
OR (A.CUSTOMER_NUMBER = B.CUSTOMER_NUMBER AND A.GROUP_NUMBER = '999'))

The only problem with such query is that record in TABLE_A with group_number '456' will return 2 times. One with address having group_number '456' and one with group_number '999'.

SQL & PL/SQL :: ORA-01400 - Cannot Insert NULL Into (string)

Jun 2, 2011

Oracle version 11.2.0
OS Linux

I have a table with no primary key constraints with some roles containing null value/duplicates. I then decided to alter the table to add composite primary key constraints on four columns (a, b, c, and d). I did this by using the same script that was used to create the original table but this time adding the not null constraints.

I then took and export of the original table. I now want to import the data to the newly created table but I am now getting the error: ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into (string).

I will like to perform the import without NULL. Is there a parameter in impdp that I can use? I tried DATA_OPTIONS=SKIP_CONSTRAINT_ERRORS but it didn't work.

Beside options using impdp is there a way to do an insert statement like this insert into table a (select * from table) excluding NULL;?

Basically, I need to load the data into the newly created table without NULL.

SQL & PL/SQL :: Insert From Large String Into CLOB

Jun 7, 2012

I'm looking for a way to insert strings larger than 40.000 characters in a CLOB-field without geting the "ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column".

Something like this:

insert into MyClobTable(ID,Data) values ('101','A string containing more than 40000 characters...')

The problem is that a Java-application concatinates the string from a MSSQL-DB so I don't store the string in my oracle-DB. As far as I'm aware this means I can't chop my string in pieces and use declare to put the pieces in variables, right?

Below is an example I found but I don't think I can apply it on my case, correct?

SQL> CREATE TABLE myClob
2 (id NUMBER PRIMARY KEY,
3 clob_data CLOB);

Table created.

SQL>
SQL> INSERT INTO myClob VALUES (101,null);

1 row created.

SQL>
SQL> declare
2 clob_pointer CLOB;
3 v_buf VARCHAR2(1000);
4 Amount BINARY_INTEGER :=1000;

SQL & PL/SQL :: Searching Collection For A Specific Value?

Oct 18, 2011

I need to check if a small collection contains a specific value. I know I can use the .exist method to let me know if the nth element exists. But is there a similar syntax for checking if an actual value exists?

So the below collection has 6 values (300,301,310,320,400,410) after the cursor values are fetched. I want to use something similar to the below exists syntax in order to search the collection for a value (rather than position) within an IF statement.

The below code shows the kind of thing I want to do. Currently, unless my test value (310) is in the range 1 to 6 the test will always return FALSE. But is there a similar syntax for testing against the value?

The example I have given is a simplification of what I need. In reality there will be more than one test value... returned by another cursor.

DECLARE
CURSOR c_type_id_usg
IS

[Code]....

-- get the list of sms type id usg values
OPEN c_type_id_usg;
FETCH c_type_id_usg bulk collect into l_type_ids;
CLOSE c_type_id_usg;

-- the above returns value 300,301,310,320,400,410

IF l_type_ids.exists(310)
then
dbms_output.put_line('I have found an entry ');
else
dbms_output.put_line('I have NOT found an entry ' );
end if;
END;

One area I do not have a lot of experience with is searching clob fields. I tried this but not sure what would be the appropriate function to use for something like this:
