I have installed Windows7 64bit on my laptop and then installed Reports10G. I am not able to connect to DB from Reports10g, Its gives below error -
REP-0501: Unable to connect to the specified database
ORA-02248: Invalid Option for ALTER SESSION
Same Reports10g is able to connect to DB on Windows XP machine. Database version is 11g which is remote.
I am getting the error FRM-41213: Unable to connect to the report server error when trying to run report by calling from form.
Im not able to access even
with the urls.....rwservlet/showjobs
and /reports/conf/showjobs.
Is there any configuration need to be made in order to run report from form.
I use my report server name as rep_dpaoscit211 .
I havent added any line to any config file for reporting....
I could not connect the reports builder to the database. Im trying to connect it to the XE database. I checked the tns names and the hosts. Everything seems to be fine. But still when i try to connect the report it throws an error "ORA 12541- tns no listner"..

I am using Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2. There is a table in a remote database with synonyms/links defined. I am getting error trying to access those tables. DBA says links/synonyms are correct and I am also able to access that table from SQLTool without error.
I can do a select statement on those tables from 'SQL Query statement' in data model.
Error is generated only if I try to use those tables in 'Formula' or in function/procedure.
I don't know if this is a bug or something else.

The code works great for few reports and for few reports it gives an error saying Unable to run the reports in 10g, When i checked the job status it says Terminated with error: <br>REP-163: Invalid value for keyword DESTYPE. Valid options are FILE, PRINTER, MAIL, INTEROFFICE, or CACHE.
I have kept the DESTYPE as CACHE. It is failing at Run_Report_Object(ReportId, Pl_Id)

I am modifying an existing report. It's just a tabular format with column headers. I selected all fields and frames and turned confine mode and flex mode OFF. I need to add another column to this report so I tried to resize and then move some of the fields.
If I try to move the right side of a colum header/field in, to make it smaller, it won't let me. I can move the left side of the field in, but then it won't let me move the entire field or column header to the left. If I try to move a field over to the right, all the fields to the right side move along with it. Doesn't this normally only happen when flex or confine mode are ON?

I have a Report which run in character mode format, well i cannot convert or Generate to File as a XML File.
XML Conversion Error:
REP-1401: 'cf_1formula': Fatal PL/SQL error occurred. ORA-01403: no data found
PDF Conversion Error:
REP-1920: Character mode runtime incompatible with DESFORMAT of PDF, HTML, HTMLCSS, or RTF
But, when i change Character Mode to Bitmap or Default i can able to Generate to File.
So i Like to know is it possible to Generate to File in Character Mode?
I have a database in access 2003 with the empno,empname and photo (bounded image). Using queries and an ODBC connection I have inserted the table into Oracle 8i (8.1.7). When I try to read the data using reports I get 'REP-1818 Unable to read data in image format.' error for the photo field.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy user would like to have a way to attach files to database records. For simplicity, we'll say that each employee in the database could have 0-many file attachments associated with them. I know how to make this part work using Oracle Forms.
So that's the easy part for me. The tough part is that they want to be able to run an Oracle Report on our application server (displays as a PDF, also downloadable as a PDF) and have links on this report to the attachments that they uploaded using the forms process above.
For the idea of storing the files on a folder somewhere, I simply created a text object on the report that had it's hyperlink property pointing to the file location. Done.. opens fine.
However, I want to be able to have the option of storing these files in the database instead, just in case we can't go with the shared folder idea. I'm not sure how to make this work. I can store a blob in the database.. but how do I link to that blob on the report for them to be able to download it? Is this even possible?
