Reports & Discoverer :: How To Change Database Login At Runtime
Feb 15, 2011
I want to change database login in report at runtime.
For Example. I have created and run a menu by using database login "ABC/xxx" and want to run a report through this menu directly (Without using form) by different data base login i.e "xyz/ddd".
what is the sol. except passing user id at report call i.e rwrun60 parameter.
I have a doubt; can we format a particular word in oracle reports at runtime..?
Ex:-
A text filed contains data Quote:We request #BANK# to finance the same Bill as per agreed interest rate and other terms and conditions agreed on the above addendum and immediately remit the proceeds to our account A/c no. #ACCOUNTNO#, held with your Bank.
We need to make #BANK#, #ACCOUNTNO# are bold at runtime, Is there any method to format characters at runtime..?
i have created a report in dis report i created bind parameters..how to capture these parameters into a table(for this i hav created a new table) means if i pass delivery_id at runtime
i need to insert this value into what ever i hav created table next time if i pass same value i need to update that record where should i write dis code in a report and can any one send script for this.

I am modifying one report which was in Portrait fashion. Now I had added more details and make the report to print in Landscape fashion. I had changed the parameters of header, body and trailer under Page Output heading in Oracle Report builder 10g. like making width 11, height 9.5 and printing fashion as Landscape. But I am having a problem. The report is printing in landscape but half of the report came on the paper and half remain empty. I have tried to adjust the scale but this didn't work. Can I correct this report or I have to make new one with landscape fashion from the beginning?
Recently I am facing a problem while working with Oracle reports 2.5.

Previously : a b c d Now if a=1 : a b z c d else a b c d where a,b,c,d,z are columns.
We are using Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 and Oracle Discoverer 9i desktop & Administrator,We have configured a physical standby database. We have ask users to connect to standby thru discoverer thru a different tns entry, but user can also connect on primary db.
We want to restrict the specified users to connect on primary database thru discoverer.
I'm presently creating a Graph on a repeating frame.
I made a query with a group that pointing to the repeating frame.
The problem : I want to change dynamically the Y and X axis Title.
The graph accept user parameter inside the XML file. But how to make it dynamically based on SQL query?
I try with formula, but can't make it work with a group. I have to put the formula at Report Level, but to make it dynamically for each group i have to make it work at the group Level.
My user would like to have a way to attach files to database records. For simplicity, we'll say that each employee in the database could have 0-many file attachments associated with them. I know how to make this part work using Oracle Forms.
So that's the easy part for me. The tough part is that they want to be able to run an Oracle Report on our application server (displays as a PDF, also downloadable as a PDF) and have links on this report to the attachments that they uploaded using the forms process above.
For the idea of storing the files on a folder somewhere, I simply created a text object on the report that had it's hyperlink property pointing to the file location. Done.. opens fine.
However, I want to be able to have the option of storing these files in the database instead, just in case we can't go with the shared folder idea. I'm not sure how to make this work. I can store a blob in the database.. but how do I link to that blob on the report for them to be able to download it? Is this even possible?
how to create a download link on the Oracle Report that let's them download a file out of the database.
I could not connect the reports builder to the database. Im trying to connect it to the XE database. I checked the tns names and the hosts. Everything seems to be fine. But still when i try to connect the report it throws an error "ORA 12541- tns no listner"..
Is it possible to change the item_type property of an item at runtime.
I have one text item and i need to lock(Read only) that item. I hope we can change the ENABLED property or by changing the ITEM_TYPE as DISPLAY_ITEM.
How to change the Item_Type to DISPLAY_ITEM from TEXT_ITEM at run time or else is there any other way except ENABLED property to male the field as READONLY.
I have a text item in the control block and I want to change the background color at runtime..I used set_item_property but it doesn't working.I used WHEN-MOUSE-MOVE TRIGGER at the field level and the code.
is SET_ITEM_PROPERTY(':master_blk.department', FOREGROUND_COLOR, 'VISUAL'); 'VISUAL' is the visual attribute name and before making the visual attribute I used SET_ITEM_PROPERTY(':CONTROL.CREATE', FOREGROUND_COLOR, 'red');
I have text item and it is assigned with lov namely 'Typelov' and that xlov assigned with 'Rgtype'. When I create the record group i just create with sql
like
select distinct type from x;
But at runtime i want to change the query
select distinct type from x where col1 = 'XXX';
and now the lov should display the above filtter condition item only.Is there any possible
