Oct 27, 2010i am creating a report using a function in the select query..suppose this is my function that i created in the program unit of the report
FUNCTION is_numeric_rep (p_strval in varchar2) RETURN
NUMBER
IS
l_numval NUMBER;
BEGIN
l_numval := TO_NUMBER(p_strval);
RETURN 1;
EXCEPTION
WHEN OTHERS THEN

and also suppose this is the query of the report

From dual
when pressing ok on the query statment in the report it give me this error: ORA-00904 "is_numeric_rep":invalid identifier although when i create this function as a stored function in the database schema and use it in the report it works fine with no problems.

Mar 9, 2011I have wrote this code behind a formula column which take the image from a server. The name of the image and location is carried out from database. When ever there is new record new name of the image is posted in this formula column. But when the file is not present in the location it gives error. When the error occur i cant able to view the report. The error says 'You cant run the report without layout'. When all images are present in the directory then report runs fine.

Jul 5, 2013I am facing a problem in leave_form report! want to show employee's previous leaves detail (leavedate,leavetype), i don't want to show leavetype 'PPP' repeating frame type is Across/Down, there are 22 records of leavetype 'PPP' and one record of leavetype 'CL'
problem is report is showing 22 records of leavetype 'CL' of same leavedate!
i want that report should show the actual leavedate and leavetype records.using 9i database 6i developer server2003

Aug 25, 2011I am working on a report which shows a summarized data from 4 different tables. I have 2 columns which shows certain amount.
The data in both the columns comes from different table.
I want to compare these 2 columns for which i placed a formula column in data model. the code goes this way:

The compilation is successful. but when i am running the report i am getting an error Rep-1517 :Column 'CF_RECV_PAY' references column TOTAL_IOU_AMT and EXP_AMT has incompatible frequency.

Jan 2, 2013I am facing below Oracle error when ever I am changing the contents of the package within it. %ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called:
The packages and the dependents are recopmiled successfully and there are no invalid objects.The problem is resolved only if the database is reastarted.
What might be the problem?I am using a PL/SQL collection of record datatype in this package.

Apr 5, 2010I am getting below error when SP (Packaged Procedure) is called from application...
ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called
After checking DB, i found package to be valid and call to SP giving same error ORA-06588.If i fire alter command to compile the package..
alter package name compile; and then if i try to run the SP in db it runs sucessfully.again after some time ORA-06508 it occurs again. after compiling it starts working fine again.
Body of the procedure :-

Oct 15, 2013I am using oracle 10g and toad 11.5 . i am trying to call an api from an anonymous block . If i recompile the api after adding dbms_output.put_line and then try to execute the anonymous block ,it shows error as "ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called". However if i end current session and open a new session , then the anonymous block will execute without the error. i am made to reconnect the session everytime i make a change to API. making any configurations in toad or database level.

Feb 18, 2010Actually what happens is that we are connected to oracle through forms 6i. suddenly we receive the error " ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called "
while doing some transaction. we have searched on net and meta link. they say that the package / procedure called has become invalid or recompilation has occurred and that is not compatible. Now we have monitored carefully that there are no changes what so ever has been made in the the package/ procedure.
what could be the reason behind this. we have also checked the global variable issue. we use package level variables but declared in the package body only. (so these are not public)

May 30, 2010When I run my package in TOAD and SQL plus I am not getting any errors. My package is being compiled well. When I integrate my Package through WED ADI .I am getting the above error. I am new to oracle apps WEDADI. can any give your valuable sugessions. I have even bounched the apache two times.
The schema for my package is APPS. Can you tell us how to go check the schema of WEB ADI. We see my integrator created in BNE_INTEGRATORS_TL. Since it is store in BNE table, the schema for BNE table is 'BNE'?

I am creating a report which generates the data to a PDF/CSV based on users Input.When I create the report using Report Builder and execute the report,Delimited data appears in a PDF layout.
But if I add the below code in After Parameter Form trigger,the column headers keeps repeating with the data.

(1) how can i fill some value in a table column based on some existing column value automatically without user intervention. my actual problem is i have 'expiry date' column and 'status'. the 'status' column should get filled automatically based on the current system date. ex: if expiry date is '25-Apr-2011' and current date is '14-May-2011', then status should be filled as 'EXPIRED'
(2)hOw can i build 'select' query in a report (report 6i) so that it will show me list of items 'EXPIRED' or 'NOT EXPIRED' or both expired and not expired separately in a single report based on user choice. 'EXPIRED' & 'NOT EXPIRED' can be taken from the above question no. 1.

Since the column is small it can fit in a page more then one time. I know how to make it print more then once: i switch the repeating frame to print down and across and i modify the frame that contains it so the horizontal elasticity is variable.
After these changes my report looks like this:

What I need to add are a few additional criteria. I attempted and failed with a few variants of this:

Sep 5, 2011I create the sample for master/detail form. In detail for prdcode,rate,qty,amount is there. When select prdcode it fetching prdcode,rate in a record and if you type the qty the amout will come based on formula(property) :qty*:rate.
It is available on screen. But when i store the data, in backend table the amount is be a null.
