we have just upgraded discoverer from 3.1 to 4.1
and we click on create summary folders we got this error Summary management not available because : this user has no privilige or quota to create materialized view in the current schema External summary registeration not available because : this user has no privilige or quota to create materialized view in the current schema
altough i granted privilige for materialized view
I have one group wise report and my requirement is i need to print both the Outputs in one single report first, is group with details and the summary in the last page showing machine code and summary of qty as totals ,I have given below test case .

At the moment we have 10 apps using forms and about 6 of them using reports. All the reports get run from the forms. We are upgrading forms and reports from 10g to 11g and the dev teams are not willing to recode the forms to pick up ENVID's etc. i have 1 reports server running and have configured to run one of the apps reports but my question is how do i get the other apps to run under that report server, can this be done.I have thought about creating a report sever for each app but not sure if this is best practice and a bit over kill.Would i be wrong to create a report server for each app.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have an issue while in backup and recovery. first of all i want to explain what i did, at first i create a database and named "testdatabase" on my machine then i create a new user say "newuser" and gave some roles and i created tablespaces and some tables in it and after that i stopped the service of "testdatabase",then i copied the folder of "testdatabase" from admin, oradata,flash_recovery_area and rdbms from diag folders at another location on my system.
then i login to "testdatabase" through sys after starting the service,then i drop "newuser" and stop the service again then i replace the folders of "testdatabase" from coressponding copied folders(from its original files) then i start the service and login to "testdatabase" through the "newuser" then all data is recovered successfully.
but when i tried to replace these all folders to the folders of the same named database which is on another machine (i have copied it by stopping the service of it)after stopping the service and then i tried to connect it then it throughs an error-"ORA-01033:
ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress" and i wait for 3-4 hours for it , but same error.
Is it possible to link to Discoverer Viewer from Forms without requiring the user to log in again. If so, can I then link to a specific Workbook within Discoverer?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy user would like to have a way to attach files to database records. For simplicity, we'll say that each employee in the database could have 0-many file attachments associated with them. I know how to make this part work using Oracle Forms.
So that's the easy part for me. The tough part is that they want to be able to run an Oracle Report on our application server (displays as a PDF, also downloadable as a PDF) and have links on this report to the attachments that they uploaded using the forms process above.
For the idea of storing the files on a folder somewhere, I simply created a text object on the report that had it's hyperlink property pointing to the file location. Done.. opens fine.
However, I want to be able to have the option of storing these files in the database instead, just in case we can't go with the shared folder idea. I'm not sure how to make this work. I can store a blob in the database.. but how do I link to that blob on the report for them to be able to download it? Is this even possible?

I'm using Report Builder 9.0.4.0.33.
I am creating a report which generates the data to a PDF/CSV based on users Input.When I create the report using Report Builder and execute the report,Delimited data appears in a PDF layout.
But if I add the below code in After Parameter Form trigger,the column headers keeps repeating with the data.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAny way to automate a job to execute several Oracle Reports to run at the end of every month and either email them to a list of people or possibly save them to a location on a network drive.
At first, I started out with 2 avenues of thought:
1) The following link raised the option of an Oracle Scheduler, but from my research, the scheduler only runs database jobs, shell scripts, batch files, etc.:

2) I was thinking about possibly creating a database job of some sort to call the reports, but from the following link, I've determined that one cannot create+call a stored/database procedure to run Oracle Report files. So there goes my second hope.

So, it appears that the scheduler won't meet my requirements and now I think I'm almost out of options.
My last resort is creating a database job that queries required information and spooling the data + various formatting "stuff" into a txt file. Then, that txt file would be my report. This seems a little savage and I would like to think that there's a ay to automatically run an .REP against a database and save an electronic copy of the report somewhere.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am unable to properly align two objects in the layout editor in Oracle Reports. The form report I am trying to design must be perfect and I need to highlight a particular report object (data item) by adding a narrow box (boilerplate) next to it on the left hand side, which is filled with a contrasting colour and contains an asterisk.
The problem is this: I cannot seem to align them properly (horizontal stack, align top). Even if I use the 'size objects' option to make them exactly the same vertical size, the align option stated above does the horizontal stack, but vertically they are not aligned - nor can I manoeuvrings the boilerplate box into place manually.
