i have a text field search_part1 in which i put the item for search another text field i send_by which contains items a single item comes in list many times.i have to find the item one by one.i have make this statement for seraching items

bt the problem is that if a single items comes more than one time then it search only one time and next time it exit.

I have already done a hierarchy tree. Now I'd like to make it bind to text items. When i click a node, it should automatically be bound to text items.
My tree is about sections of students, now when i click a specific section to view its corresponding subjects it would be displayed on text items.
For example:
+Sections
+First Semester
+LM2
+LM3
+Second Semester
+LM4
+LM5
When i would click on LM2 node, its subjects should appear immediately.

I am using apex 4.1. I must hide phone number columns in my IR report, but at the same time the values of that columns should be available to search for using IR Search Field. is there a way to do this ?
if not, that means I have to :
1- Add a text filed P1_PHONE
2- edit my report query to something similar to
> Select * from Table where :P1_phone in (mobile1,mobile2) or :p1_phone is null
3- add button to refresh the report.
but the item P1_PHONE should be on the header of the Report region. is there a way to do this.
I am using theme 23
page template without sidebars
Report template : Reports Region.
how to put the item P1_PHONE on the tab of the page. Just similar to the Search item of in the Application Builder.

when i am selecting a record from a LOV which is associated with a button on a tab page of a tabbed canvas; all the items on the tab page getting invisible. But when i navigate to another tab page and then come back to the former tab page all items reappearing.
What could possibly be the reason for this and how to restrict items from disappearing?

I want to create two list items. one is for deptno and another is for empno in a single form.
Based on the selected deptno value from first list item i want to populate corresponding empno from second list item. I tried with the fallowing code, it's work fine but the second list is not clears with the existing empno's.

I have a field that contains many part numbers. There can be 2 or more part numbers in the field separated by a space. How can this be dynamically read so you can compare the contents in the where clause to what you are search for? Example Part Numbers in the field: 1X 2X 3X 4Y 5Y 7Y

I am coming across a requirement wherein a databse cloumn is shred by 2 fields..( need to append the value to the data-base column for the 2nd field.
I dint test it yet but the form compiled with warning FRM-30431: Warning: Duplicate column name in same block...is it ok to further go or its not allowed at all?

I'm facing a strange problem with one of my client.
Sometimes the application hangs when they are typing in text item defined with 2000 or 4000 char long.
The application needs to be close manually.
The first time we faced the problem, we tought it was due to database locks but the DBA confirmed that everything was OK.
The OAS admin also tried to log the application but nothing special. So we tried to run the application using JRE instead of JINITIATOR and the problem disappeared.
So, my question is, is there known bug about using large text item in Forms 10G? and especially with JInitiator? I tried to find informations on metalink but found nothing.

I need to find all "report to" supervisors in a hierarchical chain. A binary search won't work, as each level may contain > 2 supervisors. Example:

5 6 7 8 9
10
10 reports to 9
9 reports to 4
5 and 6 report to 2
7 and 8 report to 3
2, 3 and 4 report to 1
Result for all reporting to 1 would be a table containing 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 (order is unimportant!).
I think I need to use recursion. I can do this in C; need code for PL/SQL??? (I can't get the "tree" to display well!)

When I create a new page item via copying from existing page item it fails with the below error code, if there is > or < character in the source of the existing item.Error Source contains <, > or " which are invalid characters. It works fine if I create new item using wizard and then have the same source. I use div tags in the source of my display only items.

I have a master-detail form which was getting close to the 100 items per page limit in Apex 4.0 which I then scaled back and got to work properly. I had thought that I could start adding more columns to the detail part of the form since 4.2 was supposed to have increased that limit. I am finding that this does not seem to be true at least in the case of this particular form. I tried increasing and started getting 404 errors when trying to save data--same symptom I had had with 4.0. I am back nearly to the same # of columns I started with--and nowhere near the 200 limit. Columns are month by month projection data that I had hoped to extend with the increased page item limit.
I missing something required to take advantage of larger page items limit? Do I need to use one of the new templates?

I have build a form based on a table with 2 columns,one of which isprimary key. I have created a Button with name "Quit".For that i used when-button-pressed trigger with built in "exit_form". But when I run the form,with out any execution of query or any action if I press "Quit" button,it is not working
The error message is "FRM-40202 : Field must be entered" Then I used a trigger to the item with primary key.when-new-item-instance:
set_item_instance_property('CUTOMER.CUSTID',CURRENT_RECORD,REQUIRED,PROPERTY_FALSE);
While using this,the error is "unable to resolve reference to item customer.custid" Cutomer is block name & custid is textitem with primary key. canvas used is Tab canvas with 3 tab pages with master detail relation b/w thwm. The primary key is required compulsory at the time on inserting.

How can I create a list of items in a field, for instance lets say I have a table called car and one of the sub categories is parts. How can I make it so that parts can be any number of pre-defined entities? Or even table, for instance if I make a table called parts how can I use that in the car table in place of parts?
My second question is about using foreign keys as primary keys. If I am writing an email sql DB and I decided to use the members usrname as the primary key in the member table but then made another table that lists all the emails and decided to make the foreign key member username the primary key there.
Is that safe to do or should i create a sequence in which to identify a primary key for the email list table? Also what if I extend member to several other tables and use it as a primary key there too, seems like a kind of dangerous way to do things...

I would like to fill items :P200_A and :P200_B and so on with the result of a SELECT which depends on the different values of many select lists.
E.G. :P200_list_alpha with the list of values
STATIC:less than 10;less,equal than 10;equal,above 10;above,indifferent;indiff
:P200_list_beta with the list of values
STATIC:active;active,passiv;passiv,excluded;excluded
How do I write the select statement ? I think it has to be executed in an anonymous PLSQL Procedure (after submit).
What is a convenient way to write the select statement ? I could imagine to use lots of IF , ELSIF, ELSE statements and in each branch (here 12 ) the whole/complet SELECT statement is written.
How to solve this problem in an elegant way ? In my opinion the CASE statement could be useful, but how to use it in the WHERE clause with this nested conditions ?
