PL/SQL :: How To Sort Inside Column Values (VC2)

Jan 14, 2013

I need to sort values inside a column. Data in column is concat with '|' (pipe). There could be 1 to many values in one column.

The order of the rows is not relevant here.

Test case:
-------------

create table t1 (col1 varchar2(100));

insert into t1 values ('H302|H411|H317|H314|H312');

insert into t1 values ('H315|H410|H400|H318');

insert into t1 values ('H226|H400|H331|H318|H317|H315|H310|H301');

insert into t1 values ('H301');

commit;

select col1 from t1;

COL1
----------------------------------------
H302|H411|H317|H314|H312
H315|H410|H400|H318
H315|H318
H301
H226|H400|H331|H318|H317|H315|H310|H301

Need is this:

COL1
----------------------------------------
H302|H312|H314|H317|H411
H315|H318|H400|H410
H315|H318
H301
H226|H301|H310|H315|H317|H318|H331|H400

Forms :: Sort On Non Database Column

Jan 26, 2011

I have a master detail form that presents a list of 22 items that can be checked or unchecked depending on whether the test is needed.

The issue I have is trying to order or sequence the list in a specific order without a database column.

Here is the code I am trying to use in a post query trigger:

CASE :SAMPLE_TESTS.TESTCODE
when 'L001'
then :SAMPLE_TESTS.SEQ := '02' || :SAMPLE_TESTS.TESTCODE;
when 'L002'
then :SAMPLE_TESTS.SEQ := '03' || :SAMPLE_TESTS.TESTCODE;
when 'L003'
then :SAMPLE_TESTS.SEQ := '04' || :SAMPLE_TESTS.TESTCODE;

[Code]..

The non-database field is character with a length of 6.

When I try to use this field in the order by property of the data block it is unable to perform query.

Is there another way?

SQL & PL/SQL :: How To Select A Column Dynamically Inside A Query

May 1, 2011

I have a problem executing a function.

There are two tables,

1. Table with column names of a second table mapped to certain variables.

ex: Table1
col1, var1
col2, var2
col3, var3
--------
--------

2. Table with the values for columns as given in table 1 ex:

col1, col2, col3, col4, col5,
a , aa , 1 , x1 , p
b , ab , 2 , x2 , q
c , ac , 3 , x3 , r

I have to select values from table2.col1 do some processing and calculate values and store it in a table then do the same thing with col2 and so. This needs to be done for all the columns that appear in table1.For example in table 1 i have only three columns mentioned thus i have to process col1, col2 and col3 from table2. col4 and col5 will not be processed since they do not appear in the first table.

The problem is i have hundred columns in table 2 and the user can add up to hundred columns in table 1 as and when it is required.

I have created a cursor to first select column name from table 1 where variable is not null.For each value in cursor i put it in a local variable.

Second step is to select values from table2 where instead of column name i am using the local variable.But the problem is instead of choosing values from col1 the query returns the value as col1 (the value of local variable)

SQL & PL/SQL :: How To Insert Values Into Another Column By Comparing Values Of Two Columns Of Same Table

Dec 23, 2010

My scenario is to insert values into 'out' column by comparing 's' and 'IP' columns of temp table.The exact situation is at first need to go to ip column,take a value and then go to source column and check for the same value of ip which is taken previously.Then after corresponding ip of that source column should be inserted back in previous source column.

The situation is marked clearly in file which i am attaching with '--' comments at respective places.I am also pasting the code which i tried out,unfortunately it is giving error as exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows since there are duplicates in the table.I tried it using nested for loops.Also implemented using rowid,but it didnt work.

fixing the errors or if there is any new logic that can be implemented.

DECLARE
i_e NUMBER(10);
BEGIN
FOR cur_1 IN(SELECT IP from temp where IP IS NOT NULL)
LOOP
FOR cur_2 IN(SELECT IP from temp where s=cur_1.IP)

[Code]...

Application Express :: Hyperlink Column With Link Parameters As Region Column Values

Apr 10, 2013

On my APEX page i have region which has sql query as source and it displays as HTML table the query result to the user.

I want to display addinonal column with a hyperlink inside, and that hyperlink would have CGI/URL-parameters which contains the other values of the HTML row.

So, let's say my APEX region queryes columns as "select c1, c2, c3, c4 ..." and displays out values "V1, V2, V3, V4" then i want to have addional output column with such hyperlink:

a href="f?p=100:7:13467554876288::NO::c1,c2,c3,c4:v1,v2,v3,v4">My link column with CGI-parameters</aHow can i create such hyperlink?

The overall idea is that the link would forward to a page which loads those values "v1,v2,v3,v4" into form fields and user can proceed from there.
