View 4 RepliesI had created a new table named USERLOG with two fields from a previous VIEW. The table already consist of about 9000 records. The two fields taken from the VIEW, i.e. weblog_views consist of IP (consists of IP address), and WEB_LINK (consists of URL). This is the code I used,
CREATE TABLE USERLOG
AS
SELECT C_IP, WEB_LINK FROM weblog_views;
I want to add another column to this table called the USER_ID, which would consists of a sequence starting with 1 to 9000 records to create a unique id for each existing rows. I'm using Oracle SQL Developer: ODMiner version 3.0.04. I tried using the AUTO-INCREMENT option,
ALTER TABLE USERLOG
ADD USER_ID INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT;
But I get an error with this,
Error report:
SQL Error: ORA-01735: invalid ALTER TABLE option

Provide me a query to find the last modified timestamp of all the tables present in a schema?

*1. Need to append new created records.*
*2. Need to append updated records.*
for the above requirement I did in the following way
expdp xxxx/******** schemas=SCOTT directory=dumpdir dumpfile=SCOTT_28-SEP-2012.dmp logfile=exp_SCOTT_28-SEP-2012.log imported in the following way impdp xxxx/******** AS SYSDBA REMAP_SCHEMA=SCOTT:SCOTT1 directory=DUMPDIR dumpfile=SCOTT_28-SEP-2012.dmp logfile=imp_SCOTT2_28-09-2012.log TRANSFORM=SEGMENT_ATTRIBUTES:n TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION=APPEND.

I am trying to produce results in pivot format. I want to know how many entries per day per month. In other words how many entries on a Monday for each month, how many on a Tuesday for each month and so on.
The main problem I have is that the date column in the database uses UNIX time stamp. I have managed to get the results I want for a particular month. This code selects the entries for last month.
select
max(decode(pdayno, 1, cnt, null)) Sunday,
max(decode(pdayno, 2, cnt, null)) Monday,
max(decode(pdayno, 3, cnt, null)) Tuesday,
max(decode(pdayno, 4, cnt, null)) Wednesday,
[code].......
This code produces the result:
What I need is for another column at the start of the results to give the month so I end up with 12 rows, 1 for each month.
I did try to group by PENTERED(which is the unix time stamp column)
select pentered,
max(decode(pdayno, 1, cnt, null)) Sunday,
max(decode(pdayno, 2, cnt, null)) Monday,
max(decode(pdayno, 3, cnt, null)) Tuesday,
max(decode(pdayno, 4, cnt, null)) Wednesday,
[code]......
This gave me thousands of rows as each UNIX time stamp is unique. Is there a way of grouping on UNIX time stamp.
I have one table with a columntype "timestamp" say xyz is the name of the column.Suppose today is 15th Sept So I want to fetch all those records whose value is between 14th Sept 00:00:00 and 14th Sept 23:59:59.
And date I want to keep this as a variable.
I want to have sum of Time Stamp Values in a Table. i.e. Group by Query
example : Select Name, Sum(Timestamp column) from Emp group by name;
OR
I have Time values in character column of a table. i.e. Table TT column t1 char(5) values '03:02'
Above mentioned values in more than one line, i want to get the sum of all the values and it should be a time value.
I have a question about the timestamp conflict resolution. let me describe my question with making an example:
I have a table(test1) with 3 columns(a,b,c)
I do also have 3 column groups one for a ,one for b and one for c if i want to use timestamp conflict resolution for b and c should I add 2 column timpstamp1 and stimestamp2 to test1 for each of these columns and define 1 trigger for each of them?
I hesitated because if it is true and for example if we have lots of columns which need timestamp conflict resolution the size of our table become very big.Is it correct?
I am creating a table from another existing table in another schema. The existing table contains data. When I am using the query- create table m _voucher as select * from ipm.m_voucher,I am getting the whole data of m_voucher but I want empty m_voucher table, so what will be the query to get the empty m_voucher table?

I am trying to update records in the target table based on the records coming in from source. For instance, if the incoming record is present in the target table I would update them in the target else I would simply insert. I have over one million records in my source while my target has 46 million records. The target table is partitioned based on calendar key. I implement this whole logic using Informatica. Looking at the informatica session log I find that the informatica code is perfectly fine but its in the update part it takes long time (more than 5 days to update one million records). find the TARGET TABLE query and the UPDATE query as below.
TARGET TABLE:
CREATE TABLE OPERATIONS.DENIAL_REGRET_FACT
(
CALENDAR_KEY INTEGER NOT NULL,
DAY_TIME_KEY INTEGER NOT NULL,
SITE_KEY NUMBER NOT NULL,
RESERVATION_AGENT_KEY INTEGER NOT NULL,
LOSS_CODE VARCHAR2(30) NOT NULL,

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have a transaction table and has 30 million rows. The table is not partitioned till date. We need to create partition on this table. We had an idea of moving this data to a temporary table and create partition[range]on the original table and move the data back.

Can we modifying the existing constraint on table?I have table level UNIQUE constraint on 3 columns of table.I need to modify the UNIQUE constraint to 2 columns? Instead of dropping/recreating the constraint, is there any option to modify the existing constraint

I am abolute new in PL SQL and I am working on following topic:
I have to check if an entry exists in a table.
- if it exists ...... do something
- if not ...... simply go on
I tried the following:
select Count(*)from products p
where p.productNbr = temp_Nbr
Group By t.produkt;
I fetched the result into a variable entries
if entries > 0 .....
MY problem is the following:
If there are entries (entries>0) --> it works
If there are no entries, entries is not 0 but 'no data found' --> crash
I cannot work with Exceptions because this all happens in a Loop which must go on in both cases!
I have table property and flat , in both of these tables I have cvp_id common colomn .Now I want to add cluster on this colomn so how can I add cluster to table which is already exists.

I recently started working with legacy code and noticed that some huge tables (5 years worth of data, don't have more details on me right now but can post later if needed) are partitioned based on time sequence number column while majority of queries are done based on time (different column). Queries performance is degrading and I'd like to try to modify partitioning and run some tests to evaluate performance improvement.
My only concern is with so much live data I have to come up with solution on how to switch partitioning with the least impact on applications running 24 x 7. Something you have done in the same situation and it worked?
below query.
1) How to add a new column to the existing table's particular position, instead of atlast.
2) I created a table without mentioned the datatype size as below Create table dummy (name char, age number). Then what is the default size will be allocated for those column's?
it's possible to compress the existing table in oracle database directly.
