Forms :: OAS Migration From 10.1.2.0 To 10.1.2.3 - Unable To Communicate With Runtime Process
Dec 15, 2011
I have problem after the OAS migration from 10.1.2.0 to 10.1.2.3 , i couldnt use or run report from forms using the run_report_object function.I have the error : FRM-92101: There was a failure in the Forms Server during startup.
And here more details/logs :
application.log
11/12/15 17:26:16 formsweb: Forms session <1,192> aborted: unable to communicate with runtime process.

I was install oracle forms 11g r2 on windows 7 64 bit and it's work fine , but when i install oracle forms 11g r2 on windows 7 32 bit when i run my form this error appear
FRM-93652: The runtime process has terminated abnormally.
i trace my code , when i use global variable it's cause the problem , but when i don't use it the form run perfectly .
I am using Oracle Forms 10G and I have a button that calls a form in my app by using the
new_form('FRMINIT.FMX'); statement.
When I press the button the runtime process freezes and it does nothing. When I hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete the frmweb.exe process raises its kbs in memory.
In the past i solved that problem. It was caused by a setting the parameter serverApp in the formsweb.cfg to the correct value (serverApp=[URL] ....) but i tried this again and although it is correct the runtime process freezes. Plus, i do not get an error message in JInitiator Console.
Daily am getting this mails from grid... for the time of 3 to 4 seconds, am getting upto 15 mails saying the message which i mentioned below... In that time period the OEM is not working properly... After 4 seconds then OEM console is working fine..
Agent is unable to communicate with the OMS. (REASON = Agent is Unreachable (REASON : Agent to OMS Communication is brokenError in request response, code = 400 , text = ).
I performed the Table Redefinition process on one of my transaction tables. I wanted to redefine the existing table to a new table with partitions. Everything worked fine until i reached the last step where we had to drop the interim table. Now in between the redefinition , we created the interim table with partition along with the constraints and indexes and then atlast ran the "dbms_redefinition.finish_redef_table" proc to finish the redefinition.
And after that when I tried to drop the interim table , I am getting the below error message
"ERROR at line 1: ORA-02449: unique/primary keys in table referenced by foreign keys"
So this means all the constraints from my actual table were swapped with the interim table and hence I am getting this error. So is this a normal case or I have missed something while performing the redefinition? If thats normal then should i Just Drop table tablename CASCADE CONSTRAINTS?
I have created a simple page with a tabular form built on a view. The view is on top of a collection that is created when the page is ran. I added a tabular form column validation. I then was going to add a pl/sql process to handle the updates into the db, but before I did that I wanted to delete the ApplyMRU that was created when I first created the tabular form because it does not make sense on my view. When I went to delete the MRU it gave me an error saying "Multi Row Update processes can't be deleted as long as there are validations defined for the tabular form".
I have searched for an answer on this, but so far I have not found much. I am hoping it is something simple that I am missing. I even tried deleting the MRU first and then add the validation, but then it gave me another error about "Tabular form validations require multi-row update processes" I know this was possible in 4.1, but now I am trying it on 4.2
Yesterday I found in alert log file bellows warning. and In that time some clients inform us they are cannot log on to the application. after few times they could log on to database automatically.

I am trying to find the unix process for one of my application in the database but I am unable to view the same. To simulate, I did the following.
1. My database runs on different server. 2. I invoked "sqlplus" from another unix box to login to the database. 3. I found that the process id (ps -ef |grep sqlplus). 4. When I execute the below mentioned query it does not display the process id that I am looking for. But the osuser, username, program and machine details are correct. How can I know the process details from the database?
SELECT SYS.GV_$SESSION.OSUSER, SYS.GV_$SESSION.USERNAME, SYS.GV_$PROCESS.SPID, SYS.GV_$SESSION.MACHINE, SYS.GV_$SESSION.PROGRAM, SYS.GV_$PROCESS.PROGRAM ,SYS.GV_$SESSION.SQL_ID FROM SYS.GV_$PROCESS, SYS.GV_$SESSION WHERE SYS.GV_$PROCESS.ADDR=SYS.GV_$SESSION.PADDR and SYS.GV_$SESSION.USERNAME='TEST' and SYS.GV_$SESSION.MACHINE like '%hostname%'
is there a way to keep the display of the form when we call another new form. my scenario will be as following:
am in form1 , i call form 2 from a menu, after this call form2 is open in place of form1.
i have no control in form1 and i can't change anything on it, i don't know hw the menu option is calling form2.the only control i have will be within form2 if there is any change i can make it.i read something about MDI, and OPEN_FORM() procedure, but i think this will required a change in form1 which i can't do.
is there any change i can make in form2 to display it and keep the display of form1 at the same time behind it ?
I want add a text item at run time depending on the number of values retrieved i want to change the number of text items. Is it possible at run time to add a text item?
We have a Form for viewing some datas, now i need to create a new button and Hide that button while run time for All Users except one user, how to set this option.
Addl.info: This Button should be displayed only for a single user login not for all the users using that form. how to make this option?
now what can i do for set the icon at run time..the first part of the message has been removed as it belongs to @allianz2010's previous topic; the rest has been split into a new.
I have one form that is migrated from oracle forms 6i to 11g. I opened that form by 11g form builder and it has 3 text items. Then i run the form from 11g builder...here is my problem, only 2 text items are displayed in my browser(IE). another one is invisible... i checked the property pallet for that particular text item.
i checked the following properties and its value in my form:
I am installing 4 Node Oracle RAC 11.2.0.2 on RHEL 5.5 (x86_64) {for the first time} I am having some issues with ASM monitoring from em console. the +ASM instance appears to be "down" on the em console. However i can connect to separate ASM instances on respective nodes and thus know that they are not down. I am trying to find out the reason why em console is not able to communicate with my ASM instance.
DATAPOINT1 --------------- Under Metric Collection Error link, I can see the following error message for all the nodes.
Target: xxxxx Type: Host Metric: Storage Data Collection Timestamp: MON D,YYYY H:MM:SS PM Error Type: Collection Problem Messsage: executable nmhs should have root suid enabled [code]....
Now the problem is that I cannot find any binary named "nmhs" anywhere in the grid installation, but this file exists in oracle database bin directory: -rws--x--- 1 root oracle 67778 May 2 18:04 nmhs
I am also not sure whether this is the error which tells me about the problem why em console is not able to communicate with ASM.
DATAPOINT2 --------------- I tried to run emctl to check if the agent for the ASM instance is running: I set the following for running from grid home: ORACLE_HOME=/apps/RAC/grid ORACLE_SID=+ASM1 [code]....
I have seen in all the forums, that there is a directory named "agent11g". I cant find this anywhere in my installation. Its not there in the grid infrastructure directory or the oracle database directory. what are its contents?, do i need this for my RAC setup?, how to I create this now?
Is the oracle migration assistant a utility with the oracle forms 6i distribution? Or do I need to download it from somewhere else? Is there a license required? Is there a disadvantage of using Oracle Application Express for the migration from oracle forms 6i to 11g.
We have an application running on Forms 5.0.6.8.0 and Reports 3.0.5.8.0 for the past 10 years... I have two main issues from the begining could not sort to-date... Issues are:
1. I use host() to call reports, for ex: a) I run a report works fine b) Now I goto any other master screen and just query some data c) Now I want to run any of the reports, nothing works.. To generate the report I have to open another instance of application then I can run the report... In this instance again same story repeats... I dont know what is the problem...
2. We are financial company, lot of dependancy on excel ... I want export reports to excel but there is no option...
I am converting an application initially written in Forms 4.5 to Forms 10g. Currently I am facing 2 issues regarding the change in functionality from 4.5 to 10g.
There are 5 items in a block and the WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger sets one of the items (the third item ITEM3) programmatically to display only and assigns a value to it. There is a WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM in that item (At that point it doesn't fire and this is OK).
When the user navigates from ITEM1 to ITEM2 and then to ITEM4 (because ITEM3 is disabled) the WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM of ITEM3 does not fire immediately. In forms 4.5/6i the trigger was firing and a lot of functionality was built on that behavior.
In forms 4.5 it was possible to cancel a long running query (during EXECUTE QUERY) using Control-C. The control C doesn't seem to work in form 10g. Is there any way to force a cancel of a long query in 10g?
