Apr 12, 2011I create different database users like STORE, PAYROLL, GL , SYSADMIN, COMMON to contain objects accordingly then I create another user ABC and grant DBA privileges to all users.
After that I grant SELECT/INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE privileges on each and every objects of STORE/PAYROLL/GL/SYSADMIN/COMMON users to ABC then create synonyms of STORE/PAYROLL/GL/SYSADMIN/COMMON users objects into ABC.
Actually, I want to use single user of ABC to build/execute my application but I think I am doing something wrong because whenever I tried to compile my form, its showing this error.

Question: for example that form has 10 to 25 fields or columns more than that all the data has been entered, but before committing or saving that form i need to cross check the the data with a select query, whether the data entered is correct or not but before committing, that data it should be posted into that table if i find that one data is entered wrongly then i will modify that and again cross check and save the transaction permanently into the database table?

Aug 6, 2013I have a csv file where a field has values like "Fri Aug 2 19:22:02 EDT 2013". through unix i am able to place the value into an unix variable but the problem is this should be inserted into a date column in my database table. Basically, the relevant data to be extracted is "Aug 2 2013 19:22:02" and then i need to insert the same into my database column. And the date column in the table should displays like '08/02/2013 19:22:02'.

Aug 15, 2011I need to generate a select query in runtime and store the results of it into a file.Each time the column name and table name in the query will differ.Now im able to generate the select query through for cursor but problem is to store the results to the file.I tried using plsql table,im able to get the values to that table and store the results to a file,but the results of the query is more then 10000 lines (it might increase also)where only 4000 characters where able to store in the plsql table.so rest of them are not stored in the file.

1. Create an external table for the file everytime when the form is loaded by dropping and re creating the table and base the data block in the form on that table and execute_query and display the contents.
2. I am confused whether to use webutil or utlfile packages to read from the file and display on the screen as the file resides in the database or Oracle server and not forms application server or client machine.

Nov 12, 2012During a duplicate process to a new database name, rman crashed after the restore but before the switch datafile all.So now, we have under ASM the data files under the correct (new) diskgroup but v$datafile contains the previous names (and so diskgroup) and v$datafile_header is empty. RMAN is completly lost, our solution is to manually rename each file under SQL*Plus using ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE. Unfortunately, we are using or migrating to OMF, so file names are meaningless and we are unable to associate ASM files with database files.
Any way (query or anything else) to associate the ASM files to the database files. Here's an abstract of what we have for one (small) tablespace:
