Forms :: Creating Domain Failed While Configuring Oracle Instance?

I have installed Weblogic Server 10.3.6 in my PC .While in installation i have chosen 'Custom' option instead of 'Typical' and Unchecked software Components 'Database Evaluation' and 'Oracle Coherence' and Installed 'Node Manager Service' then continued with Weblogic server installation .Weblogic Server installed Succesfully.
(In weblogic server home folder nodemanager.domains file also not created after weblogic server installation)
Now i started installation of Forms and Reports 11g R2 . While Configuring Instance 'Domain Creation is Failed'.
I create an instance with oracle scripts,.. postDBCreation.sql :
-SERVICE_NAME cag1.crick.cagis.gov should be cag1.mycrof.cagis.gov .... ultraSearchCfg.sql SERVICE_NAME=cag1.crick.cagis.gov should be ca1.mycrof.cagis.gov .. Impact: All DBlinks show as LINKNAME.CRICK.CAGIS.GOV and this instance is labeled CAG1.CRICK.CAGIS.GOV in the Grid Control Console.
I have been asked to improve the speed of our extract feeds to another team. It was using an excel file as csv created with C# reading the csv into a global temporary table and a procedure to insert rows from global table to main table one at a time.
Around 1 million rows That was taking around 25 min. After trying sqlldr and an intermediate table I managed to reduce timing to 15 sec with sqlldr and Direct Path Load. I tried all that in one of our own DEV databases. Now we want to try the approach in one of DEV databases belong to downstream group (the one we feed data). They are rather reluctant to give me access to their DEV database! I have asked them to create a new login and grant object creation (DDL) to this user.They keep saying that they are prepared to give me a role but NOT schema owner. What is the best way of enabling me to create tables somewhere and test loading times with sqlldr.
I need to do full DDL (table/proc creation) and DML on a certain schema. So my question: What is the best way of doing so.. Do I need a schema created for user to do this workI they already have a general purpose schema, can they create a role to have full DDL: rights in that schema?
I am running ORACLE 10.2.0 on Windows Virtual PC. System: Microsoft Windows XP SP3.
Yesterday I wanted to make a copy of my Virtual Machine Hard Drive Image. I directly copied all the files to my external hard drive, but I forgot shutting down my virtual machine when I was doing this.
Today I found my instance failed startup.
In OEM, it is showing:
Agent Connection to Instance Status: Failed Details ORA-12505: TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach)
In SQLPlus:
SQL> connect sys/password as sysdba Connected to an idle instance SQL> startup ORACLE instance started.
creating an ASM instance. I've never done this before and searched all known documentation. I just can't seem to figure this out. This is an 11g database on a WinXp machine for testing purpose before attempting to do this on a live production environment
My cluster have two node.Data diskgroup uses normal redundancy.Priamry disks are located in one storage.Fail group disks are located in another storage.When we close the failgroup disks' storage the 2nd instance restart.After automatically restarted everything goes well.I want to know why does the 2nd instance restart?Is it normal?
I have SQL Server database I would like to migrate into Oracle. The database supports a large application. It is around 10GB. I requested a new instance but was advised I would have to pay for that but if I asked for a new Schema it could go in our current company instance. I am fine with that since it wont cost more money if I just add a new schema to our Company Oracle instance. Just curious what is the advantage of getting a new instance compared to creating a new schema for 10 GB of data?I assume the advantage of creating a new instance is our Schema (in new instance) and work will have its own space/house and can grow in size without any issues?
H want to Create a view which reside in one instance for example xxx Instance . I want to create the same view which reside in xxx instance to another instance for example YYY Instance How to acheive this ?I tried desc the View take the view script from XXX instance and copied the view script to YYY instance when I compiled Iam getting an Error
For Example My view in XXX Instance CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW xxx.sample ( First_name, last_name ) as select "F_NAME", "L_NAME" FROM EMP;
When try to copy and compile the same view in my YYY Instance i am getting error
create an ASM (Automatic Storage Management) instance using dbca. At first try I mistakenly skipped the part where I click on ASM Parameters to add /dev/raw/raw* as my asm_diskstring so it created an ASM instance. When I get to the next page ASM Disk Groups, I selected Create New and I did not have the desired display, because of the step I missed.
I went back to do some cleaning up as follows:
1) Edit the oratab file to remove the ASM entry
2) backed up these files by renaming to old-<filename> old-ab_+ASM.dat old-hc_+ASM.dat old-lk+ASM old-orapw+ASM old-spfile2+ASM.ora
Now when I try to go through the steps to create an ASM instance, at the point after I enter my ASM Parameters, I get the following prompt:
"DBCA will now create and start the ASM instance. After the ASM instance is started you can create the diskgroups to be used as storage for your database."
I have several forms developed in Oracle forms builder 10g version 9.0.4.0.19. It contains Hierarchical Tree items. when i run this form on this version of oracle, it's running properly. but when i compile and run it on oracle forms 10 version 10.1.2.0.2, it shows an error message stating Assertion Failed!, if I click on the Tree item. I cant find out what and where the problem is. If I build a new form with tree item, it is working properly.
On my PC I have installed Oracle 10g & Oracle Forms & Reports 6i .My PC is on LAN ,to avoid problem of dynamic ip address & tns 12514 as PC get connected & disconnected from LAN regularly I have just installed Loopback Adapter.As my PC on LAN so it have old NETWORK CONNECTION which have specific ip address,subnet mask, default gateway,preferred DNS server , alternate DNS server.
How loopback adapter going to work & what I have to do after installing LOOPBACK ADAPTER? Can I give the same ip address,subnet mask, default gateway,preferred DNS server , alternate DNS server on my new network connection (generated after installing Loopback Adapter) as it is on my old network connection & delete or disable old Network Connection. And come in my original LAN with same settings on new Loopback Adapters newtwork connection. Or I have to keep both network connection .
I'm using Dev10g Rel.2....If I call a report with paramform=no and pass it a value from forms then report runs well. but if I call report thru parameter form and pass value from parameter form the report doesn't run with error:
The webpage cannot be displayed.
Interesting fact is that If I call the report from a client on same domain as that of Application Server then it runs even thru paramform. I've also entered the application server I.P and name on other domain's client but no way.
When Oracle was installed, there was an error in the server's domain name (missing a "."). Is there an easy way to fix this domain name in the Oracle installation after the fact? I know about tnsnames.ora, pfile, system parameters, and I'm pretty sure I can do emagent -config. My concern is that the "Installed Products" would not like the fact that the domain name is now "abc.proj.org" when installation was done on "abcproj.org". The /etc/hosts file had "abcproj.org", and we want to fix it to "abc.proj.org".
I need to reinstall Oracle -- is there a better way?
I am using oracle 11g in window server 2008 R2 enterprise under WORKGROUP. And it was working fine. But after changing it from WORKGROUP to DOMAIN not able to connect it.
Its comes as

I am on 11.2.0.3 Enterprise Edition. We are using the new feature "Composite Domain Index" for a Domain index on a very large table (>250.000.000 rows). It really works with mixed queries. We added two number columns using FILTER BY.We have lots of DML on this table. Therefore, we are executing synchronize and optimize once the week. The synch behaves pretty normal. But "optimize_index" takes a very very long time to complete. I have switsched on 'logging' for the optimize process. The $I table takes some time but is finished normally. But the optimization of the $S table (that is the table created for the CDI feature) is running over 12 hours now - and far from being finished. From the logfile, I can see that it optimizes 1000 rows every 20 minutes. Here is the output of the logfile:

I haven't found a recommendation from Oracle not to use "optimize_index" for Domain Indexes with CDI. But in my case, it would be much faster just to drop and recreate the Domain Index in question.
Due to some some Network issues . we have planing to move oracle database one domain to another domain changing domain name and IP address of oracle database . if want to change oracle database 10g(10.2.0.5.0) 32 bit windows version what are setting s to change in oracle database.
I have created searching tool using oracle forms 6i. while searching the cursor move from text field (A) to other block query the data according to the field (A) and come back again to field (A). Everything is working fine but the problem is, when the cursor move back to the field (A) the existing text is highlighted and when user right something in it. It's overwriting the existing text.
I want when the cursor moving bank to the field (A) the text should not be highlighted and when the user writes something that will be added to the existing text.
1. I have for example my-custom-domain.com and want that my customers use this domain to login at APEX Application at Oracle Cloud. I don't want that my customers see
[URL]........
and see instead of my-custom-domain.com :)
How I can do it? Don't find any technical information about it...
2. Can I use my ssl certificates for my domain for Oracle Cloud Instance?
- one ASM instance - X DB instances - each DB instance uses 2 or more dedicated diskgroups from the ASM instance - there is one diskgroup named FREEDISK that contains spare disks
On each DB instance you can see:
- the list and global parameters of all diskgroups using v$asm_diskgroup view - the list and parameters of all disks the instance is using with v$asm_disk view
So my question is: how (if this is possible) to know the list of (spare) disks in FREE DISK disk group?
How to configure Oracle EM with newly created Oracle Instance on Oracle 10g DB,which is Single Instance DB but not RAC ,when I start the Oracle EM it is starting the default DB which created during Oracle Server Installation.
