I have one form in which I need to change cursor style to busy while doing some process and after completing that process cursor should get to default.I have done changing cursor style but during its busy state it is allowing me to change values or click buttons.It should not allow user to change anything or click any button.

View 1 Replies View Relatedchanging archive mode during DB running.Before in 9.2, 'ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG START/STOP' is available for this job. But, after 10g/11g, it cause 'archive log stop has been deprecated'.
However, for my practice, I need to estimate archived logs size before backup them, so I need to stop archive log for a while and enable it later during DB running.
I check Oracle documents, it only mentions changing archive log mode at DB mounted but not open.
usually i create oracle databases using the create database command, however im trying this time to use the dbca -silent -createDatabase -templateName General_Purpose.dbc - i have edited the General_Purpose.dbc to have the control files. datafiles etc to go to a different location other then the $ORACLE_BASE and no luck so far, whatever i do even changing the $oracle_base just dumps all into a location, how can i force it / change it - this is Oracle 11GR2 on linux

The Excel spreadsheet was a good environment for tuning the model, but now I have been asked to design an Oracle Form that incorporates their mathematical model and shows their final and intermediate data so they can validate my app against their proven spreadsheet.
To do that I have to create a matrix style table for use as a child data-block in my Oracle Form.

I created a block for EMP table on tabular style. if in first line empno entered is 1then i don't want to allow the end user to enter 1 in second line. but when-validate-item is not working because first_record and next_record is not allowed. I need to validate before saving the data into emp table and immediately after empno is entered into empno item.

I've also tried creating a new application process with a similar procedure of a different name, and no page processes will allow me to call the procedure, saying that it needs to be declared. When I remove "enter_query" statement in "populate from charge master" trigger code, I am not able to select any of the departments from the list. and If I have that statement, I am not able to hide/close the window.

View 22 Replies View Relatedi have one procedure that run at same time for two different partition.In the begin of the processes i do the truncate partition and after that the insert of data in the partition.Since i have two processes running at the same time, i will fill up data in two different partition.
But it occurred one error :
"ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified"
The problem is caused by the truncate partition. I'm doing two simultaneous execution of the same process, but when one process is doing the truncate other is insert data.How can i do the truncate of this two partition, or insert in to, without get any error. I think the two simultaneous insert is not a problem.
So how can i lock the table in the first truncate and after that release the table for the next truncate?
i am working in scott's schema and i want to create foreign key on new table that is "test" table ,structure is----
create table test(id number, name varchar2(20),dno number,pno number);
and now create a foreign key on id column of "test" table reffering the empno of "emp" table which has pk already. but it shows an error-------"ora-ORA-00054-resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified or timeout expired"
while i have create the "test" table just 1 min ago.
I currently have a form in which a master block populates a detail block. when the master is populated the cursor automatically goes to the detail block and sets it to enter query mode (due to the face that there are multiple details but the user may only view one at a time). To select the appropriate detail the user may select the detail from a LOV which is activated by clicking a button. once the detail has been selected and the query executed there is no real need for the LOV as the user can now edit/delete the detail. Also when adding a new detail there would be no need for the LOV as the presence of it would only confuse users. So basically the only time the LOV is usefull is during query mode to query the detail the user wants to edit/delete.

how to get the default Oracle toolbar with the buttons, save, delete etc. I dont get in my form.
When the cursor is inside the detail block and then I click on an EnterQuery button in the first block, how do I clear the detail block, using the on btn press code.
What happens when I click the Enter Query button, is that the cursor and current block becomes the button block and when I run the command ENTER_QUERY, no use.
I need to set the block in which the cursor is to be cleared for query, whether it is master or detail, by pressing the button on the first block.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA batch job was running for a long time which executes a stored procedure that was doing physical deletes on an oracle table. This job ran for about 3 hrs and is still executing. Meanwhile another job(which was making indexes unusable in another table) has cancelled saying "resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified", i think it was ORA-0054! So i killed the first job and reran the second thinking the first one was taking up resources which resulted in the cancel of the second job. Now the second job ran successfully. Both these tables are not related to each other whatsoever...but why was there a cancel?

I have a form in which there are three blocks A,B and C. When I press F7, the form enters Enter-Query Mode and all blocks clear except block A's one item. Say, Block A has 5 items, Item1, Item2,.. Item5. When I enter Enter-Query mode, Item2 of block A is not cleared and rest all are cleared.
