I try to transfer data from one database to another one through data pump via SQL Developer (data amount is quite important) exporting several tables. Tables export is doing fine, but I encounter the following error when I import the file (I try data only and data + DDL).
"Exception: ORA-39001: argument value invalid dbms_datapump.get_status(64...= ORA-39001: argument value invalid ORA-39000: .... ORA-31619: ...
The file is in the right place, data pump folder of the new database. User is the same on both base, database version are similar.
I need to refresh a PROD database into TEST database. The PROD and TEST runs on 10g. I need a full refresh. Is there any pre req's which i should keep in mind ?.

we have a requirement to export full database dump from source database to target database.
source database - Oracle 11.2.0.1 OS version - AIX 5.3 character set: UTF8
target database - Oracle 11.2.0.3 OS version - 6.1 character set: AL32UTF8
i did export from source database and give it to DBA of target database as dump files.
when he tried to import using this dump, he got the following error for 3 tables
ORA-02374: conversion error loading table ORA-12899: value too large for column ORA-02372: data for row
DBA is telling there is character conversion issue and i need to change the source database character set (NLS_CHARACTERSET) and then export these 3 tables separately.
But on analysis, i found UTF8 is subset of AL32UTF8 and hence oracle would do this conversion implicitly.
My query is:
1. For this issue, only solution is to change the source database character set as same as target database, then do the export or any other way available?
2. If i need to change the source database character set, would it affect other data available there?
3. Is there any way available doing character set conversion while doing "expdp" on the fly?
4. Is this issue comes because of oracle version (11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.3 ) or OS (AIX 5.3 to 6.1)?
I have Live Server with 11g R2 with Dataguard on server 2008 server 64 bit. I exporting the DMP from live and importing in 10g on Server 2003 32 bit. All tables are not imported.
have 2 Oracle server. One with Suse Linux (Oracle 10.2.0.4.0) and one with Windows 2003 Server x64 (Oracle 11.2.0.1.0). I made a mistake by installing Oracle 11 x32 on a x64 server. Nevertheless it works for about half a year. Then my backups with datapump don't work. I changed the SGA_TARGET down to 1024M and the datapump works again. Now I want to renew the Windows server and want to import the datapump schemes to the Linux server.
I have the problem with import in Oracle 8.1.7.The size of import file is 29600 kb and tablespace size is 16gb and when I try to make import oracle back this message:
IMP-00003: ORACLE error 1659 encountered ORA-01659: unable to allocate MINEXTENTS beyond 7 in tablespace DATA
The data tablespace is full. I think that the import file contains information about the original tablespace from which has made export. But I don't now how to resolve the problem
We have a QA database on a VM server with Windows 2003 operating system and oracle 10.2.0.1 installed along with limited disk space. We received an expdp file from a client that is large enough that we had to copy it to a network drive (40GB). I created a new directory called IMPDMP with the directory path (using UNC pathing) to \serversharefoldersubfolder (our network mapped P drive, yes I included the backslash, but I have tried without it also). I also included the parfile here. I checked the grants and they seem to be fine

My questions are this:
1) In interactive mode, does a dummy file expdat.dmp have to exist in the DATA_PUMP_DIR directory?
2) does my export have to reside in the DATA_PUMP_DIR directory (again, no disk space to handle the DMP file), one of the hard drives is just big enough to handle the space but since it has datafiles there also, it would crash during import when trying to extend.
have a requirement to load .dmp files into existing staging tables and there is package to load the ODS tables from staging. So,I thought of using DBMS_Datapump utility to import the data from .DMP files to the Tables and this need be automated.

I have a data base oracle 10g (10.2.0.3). I am exporting the Schema using Grid Control 10g.
Servers:
Source: Oracle 10.2.0.3.0
To: Oracle RAC 11.2.0.3
I am trying to import the Schema for the server Oracle RAC 11gR2 11.2.0.3 using the Cloud Control 12c and is presenting the following error:
Error: O job IMPORTA_EGESTAO_ESQUEMA_NOVO foi reaberto em Terca-Feira, 05 Marco, 2013 11:02 Reiniciando "SYSTEM"."IMPORTA_EGESTAO_ESQUEMA_NOVO": Processando o tipo de objeto SCHEMA_EXPORT/USER Processando o tipo de objeto SCHEMA_EXPORT/ROLE_GRANT Processando o tipo de objeto SCHEMA_EXPORT/DEFAULT_ROLE Processando o tipo de objeto SCHEMA_EXPORT/TABLESPACE_QUOTA Execute Failed: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small ORA-06512: at line 18 ORA-06512: at line 44 (DBD ERROR: OCIStmtExecute)
We are getting the below errors while migrating partitioned tables using expdp.
The source and target databases are both running on 10.2.0.5 and the main thing is source database doesn't have any active sessions. This is a clone of a Prod Database and no one is accessing it.

I get import error while trying to import objects into schema.

i understand we need to grant the user space resource on the tablespace as below.

My another question is can we grant QUOTA UNLIMITED on <tablespace_name> to user ?
its importing data fine upto some stage after that oracle gives the following error
Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/JAVA_SOURCE/JAVA_SOURCE ORA-39097: Data Pump job encountered unexpected error -1423 ORA-39065: unexpected master process exception in DISPATCH ORA-01423: error encountered while checking for extra rows in exact fetch ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 123404 bytes (QERHJ has h-joi,kllcqas:kllsltba)
ORA-39014: One or more workers have prematurely exited. Job "SYSTEM"."SYS_IMPORT_SCHEMA_04" stopped due to fatal error at 11:42:03
I though its due to lack of memory, so i have increased pga_aggregate_target=512MB to 600MB still i am getting a same error.
I've been using datapump for a long time now but I have not come across this problem before.
Importing just two tables: Table1 data=100Mb=11 million rows Table2 data=4.2Gb =19.6 million rows
Table1 ran for approx. 5 hours Table2 ran for approx. 15 hours
If I run the impdp importing both tables in the same par file the default tablespace of the users the import is running as runs out of space due to ORA-01691: unable to extend lob segment <owner>.SYS_LOG0001175799C00045$$ by 512 in tablespace USERS. I do not understand why it is creating objects in order to import tables into someone elses schema.
The environment is Red Hat LINUX 4.1.2-51 running Oracle 11.2.0.1 of Oracle11gR2. This is a 9 node RAC using ASM.
Not able to understand what's wrong with the code. I am trying to import data to a table using a CSV file. I have exported the data (CSV) from the interactive report and I am just trying to insert the same data to the table, through a process. When, I tried to do so; its throwing an error message saying NO_DATA_FOUND and file is not getting inserted into wwv_flow_files table.
But when I removed the data from the CSV file for the comments field and then tried importing the file, the process worked. I don't understand whats the problem with the code.
I have a sample app setup in my workspace for this weird problem.

Workspace details:
CSV file with comments field and data in it - when trying to import - throws an error message NO_DATA_FOUND
CSV file with comments field and without data in it - tried importing - this worked
I am trying to export a Schema from 11.2.0.2 and getting the below error on export ORA-39127: unexpected error from call to export_string

I have searched the forum and found similar errors, but I am struggling to understand the cause and solution.Forums seem to indicate it may be related to bug 4358907, Re: Datapump export/import object grants given by another user but not sure it is relevant as I can see a ORA-01031: insufficient privileges in this log.

i had import a database dump file & this database has username/password say abc/xyz. my database username/password is system/vinod. after importing i'm unable to login with system/vinod(error:invalid username/password) and one strange thing was happened;a user was created with abc/xyz(username/password). after altering my user only then i'm able to login with my original user.
