I try to transfer data from one database to another one through data pump via SQL Developer (data amount is quite important) exporting several tables. Tables export is doing fine, but I encounter the following error when I import the file (I try data only and data + DDL).
"Exception: ORA-39001: argument value invalid dbms_datapump.get_status(64...=
ORA-39001: argument value invalid
ORA-39000: ....
ORA-31619: ...
The file is in the right place, data pump folder of the new database. User is the same on both base, database version are similar.

We have a QA database on a VM server with Windows 2003 operating system and oracle 10.2.0.1 installed along with limited disk space. We received an expdp file from a client that is large enough that we had to copy it to a network drive (40GB). I created a new directory called IMPDMP with the directory path (using UNC pathing) to \serversharefoldersubfolder (our network mapped P drive, yes I included the backslash, but I have tried without it also). I also included the parfile here. I checked the grants and they seem to be fine
SQL> select * from session_roles where role like '%DATABASE' or role like 'DBA';
ROLE
------------------------------
DBA
EXP_FULL_DATABASE
IMP_FULL_DATABASE
SQL> select * from session_privs where privilege like '%DICT%';
PRIVILEGE
----------------------------------------
SELECT ANY DICTIONARY
ANALYZE ANY DICTIONARY
[code]....
My questions are this:
1) In interactive mode, does a dummy file expdat.dmp have to exist in the DATA_PUMP_DIR directory?
2) does my export have to reside in the DATA_PUMP_DIR directory (again, no disk space to handle the DMP file), one of the hard drives is just big enough to handle the space but since it has datafiles there also, it would crash during import when trying to extend.

I am trying to import database dump using the following command
impdp system/xxxx@xxxx schemas=staging
remap_schema=staging:staging directory=DUMPDIR dumpfile=staging.dmp logfile=impdpstaing.log
TRANSFORM=SEGMENT_ATTRIBUTES:n
its importing data fine upto some stage after that oracle gives the following error
Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/JAVA_SOURCE/JAVA_SOURCE

I though its due to lack of memory, so i have increased pga_aggregate_target=512MB to 600MB still i am getting a same error.

I have an 11g data pump supplied by another party.I am on Windows 7(x64).I have experience using other databases, but not Oracle. The complexity of it all is a bit overwhelming...
I downloaded and installed [URL].I used the Database Configuration Assistant to create a database:
Template: Data Warehouse
Name/SID: database0
Password: password0
I then used the 'database0' Enterprise Manager:
Logged in as SYSTEM/password0 (Normal)
Import from Export Files
Entire Files
Host Credentials: myself (am Windows administrator)
All the rest defaults
The job appears to finish successfully. When I look at the schema (using razorsql), most tables seem to be there. However,a significant number are not. When I open data pump in a text editor, those missing tables are clearly there - definitions and data. When I look in the import.log, there are errors of the type:
error in creating database file '/db02/oradata/database0/stuff.dbf'
file create error, unable to create file
unable to open file
(OS 3) The system cannot find the path specified.
Failing sql is:
CREATE TABLESPACE "STUFF" DATAFILE '/db01/oradata/database0/stuff.dbf'
-- followed by the associated table creation errors.
So, does this mean that unix paths are hardcoded into the data pump, and is therefore incompatible with import into a Windows based system? Or are the paths symbolic, internal representations used by Oracle, and these errors are a symptom of an earlier, undisclosed problem?
The thing is, when I view the schema, the tablespace "STUFF" exists, just none of its tables.

We should migrate our 10gR2 single-instance database with conventional file system to a two-node 11gR2 RAC on ASM (on same Windows Server platform…).
How can I migrate my production database using data pump? I have full data pump export from target but I don’t know how to import, whether the scheme after scheme, full import, do I need to first create manually tablespaces on destination, whether to exclude the index, constraint, statistics?

I did the datapump export and import from one schema to a new schema in the same database. I had to use different tablespace. I used the following parameters in the parfiles :
export parfile
directory
dumpfile
logfile
parallel
import parfile
directory
dumpfile
logfile
parallel
remap_schema
remap_tablespace
Tell me whether I need to use different parameters than the one I used? Can I use both remap_schema and remap_tablespace at a time?

DB: 11.2.0.2
Every time i try to refresh my production DB with the a old expdp dumpfile using data pump i always face the issue of grants and creation of synonym. I would like to tell you that my DB has three schemas which have lots of dependencies among them and before refreshing them i drop the schemas and recreate the same.
Drop user user_name cascade; So i want to know, is there a script from which i can get all the grants of the DB before dropping the schemas, so that after import i can grant the same and also a query with which i will be able to get all the synonyms of the DB.

I'm rying to import schema's from a dump file that came from a different environment.
What I have is:
1. dump file
2. log file of the export
I'm trying to import the file(containing three schemas) with remap_schemas, and it fails, gives a lot of ORA-00959: tablespace 'string' does not exist.
Now, I've read in OTN:
[URL]
that what you need to do in that case is to use the REMAP_TABLESPACE option,to redirect the objects to a different tablespace.
I don't see a name of the tablespace I'm getting the error for in the export log.I don't know if I have more tablespaces I have to redirect with REMAP_TABLESPACE.
I don't want to perform this 3 times, have an error, by that find out what's the next tablespace needing redirection and only then starting over...
How can I know from the dump file and the log file, what is the tablespace names i need for the redirection to my names? Or its just that the tablespace giving me the error is the only one in the dump file?

We are trying to import data into existing tables in a schema using data pump
However the foreign key tables are being imported first and then the master table data thus violating the constraints
Apparently it seems larger tables are being imported first regardless of referential integrity constraints thus causing constraint violation (contrary to my understanding)
Is it a normal behaviour during data pump import?
Is it possible that the keys being sequence generated are causing this?
As I understand import will commit after each table In that case can we defer commit at all at the expense of large undo, set constraints to deferrable and try the import?

Any way to setup Data Pump Export timeout on resumable error (like with classique export). Seems that default timeout is 2h (7200s).I have tried to set system parameter 'resumable_timeout' from 0 to 60 but no change.
I would like to script an export, but I just want that the script exits on errors like this one:
ORA-39171: Le travail se heurte à une attente avec possibilité de reprise.
ORA-01691: impossible d'étendre le segment LOB SYS.SYS_LOB0000145352C00039$$ de 128 dans le tablespace SYSTEM

we have a requirement to export full database dump from source database to target database.
source database - Oracle 11.2.0.1
OS version - AIX 5.3
character set: UTF8
target database - Oracle 11.2.0.3
OS version - 6.1
character set: AL32UTF8
i did export from source database and give it to DBA of target database as dump files.
when he tried to import using this dump, he got the following error for 3 tables
ORA-02374: conversion error loading table
ORA-12899: value too large for column
ORA-02372: data for row
DBA is telling there is character conversion issue and i need to change the source database character set (NLS_CHARACTERSET) and then export these 3 tables separately.
But on analysis, i found UTF8 is subset of AL32UTF8 and hence oracle would do this conversion implicitly.
My query is:
1. For this issue, only solution is to change the source database character set as same as target database, then do the export or any other way available?
2. If i need to change the source database character set, would it affect other data available there?
3. Is there any way available doing character set conversion while doing "expdp" on the fly?
4. Is this issue comes because of oracle version (11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.3 ) or OS (AIX 5.3 to 6.1)?

Not able to understand what's wrong with the code. I am trying to import data to a table using a CSV file. I have exported the data (CSV) from the interactive report and I am just trying to insert the same data to the table, through a process. When, I tried to do so; its throwing an error message saying NO_DATA_FOUND and file is not getting inserted into wwv_flow_files table.
But when I removed the data from the CSV file for the comments field and then tried importing the file, the process worked. I don't understand whats the problem with the code.
I have a sample app setup in my workspace for this weird problem.
[URL]
Workspace details:
CSV file with comments field and data in it - when trying to import - throws an error message NO_DATA_FOUND
CSV file with comments field and without data in it - tried importing - this worked

I am using parameter EXCLUDE=INDEX during the import and I created the index DDL's.
