Enterprise Manager :: Database Space Usage Report In OEM10g?
Nov 13, 2010
In OEM10 I can click on the database size in the database page. When I do this I am redirected by the OEM to teh Database space usage report.
I have 3 questions about reports in OEM10g:
1. Can I create drill-down reports in OEM10g?I want to create a report that shows the space usage per host and drill down to the databases (targets) that are on that host.
2.Can I create a link to the Database space usage report? I would like to redirect to the report from the report in question 1 from a target. So that I can see the space usage of the database that was selected.
3. Can I create a copy of the Database Space Usage summary report that the OEM shows? I can't find it in the report tab of the OEM.
We are just but new oracle 10g(10.1.2.0.2) Database and application server ( form and report server ).have installed application server on window server 2003.
it will running ,but it is used lots of memory.so the performance decrease when user increase.
I am having a database running in my windows 2003 server and I want to configure Enterprise manager for that database to check the resource utilization during the peak hours and also the number of transactions...
i have already give the grant option cnnect, resource to scott but it is not connecting to enter prise manager console of Oracle database 11gR1. i am getting this error while connecting "The application requires more database privileges than you have currently been granted. Click on Help to get more version specific information"
when i am giving scott the dba rights then it is connecting. but i cann't give dba rights to scott.so, how/what is the specific command to give permission scott for connecting to enter prise manager console.
We have the Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10.2.0.5. We recently upgraded our Databases from 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.4 and since then we are having this problem.
Whenever i click an Agent on the Grid Control it gives me this error: "Communication between the Oracle Management Service host to the Agent host is unavailable. Any functions or displayed information requiring this communication link will be unavailable. For example: deleting/configuring/adding targets, uploading metric data, or displaying Agent home page information such as Agent to Management Service Response Time (ms)."
I get the same error when i try to configure a host or a database.
I have intsalled oracle client 9i.I add my services into tnsnames.ora .I could connect in sqlplus but in Enterprise manager i receive error ora12154 tns could not resolve service name!
I have two differenct databases with nsame name. Database 1 named DBX is on server SERVERX used for dev Database 2 named DBX is on server SERVERY used for test
I want to install OEM Agent on both server and access from one single OEM 11g Grid control.
What I find is that, the OEM seems to get confused when I try to login to the A database from OEM.
How should I configure OEM or Agent so that OEM can be used to login to both DBs?
I have installed OUI( Oracle universal insaller) and the with DBCA(Database Configuration Assistant) i have installed the database. Before DBCA completion of Database it give error message like database control not running. When i press OK the DBCA completed and database installed but where it shows the database control url it shows database url is null. when i try to give this url http://sweetdba:1158/em it shows error. why the url is not working. 11g database is working and connected.
I've checked ALL the parameters. It seems to be OK.The db is running and OK.But when I try to configure the EM I get the following error Says that the databse instance is not available. But, tnsping works ok, and I can connect as sys without problems. the DB is OK.

I installed Oracle database 11g enterprise edition. I can connect it through sql plus but Database control is not starting. I have checked dbconsole service which is running.
the address is [URL]...
but mozilla and chrome both are unable to start the application. after installation it started only once. but it is not starting now.
second thing is how can i confirm what is the port of my listener is it 1158 or something else.
I need to copy all the database objects from one database to another database.I have 32 bit windows environment I tried export and put it in a dump file but dump file size exceeds the limit, my database size is about 300 GB.
What would be efficient way to replicate all the database objects move to another box ..?
On our test database server, we restore a copy of the production database from the rman backup. The process worked well and we could connect and do the processing with sqlplus, or any other third party tools like Toad.
Strange enough, Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA) does not recognize it. So if we like to drop the database from the DBCA, it is not there. Also we could not get the DBCONSOLE to work with.
The all powerful command: emca -repos recreate generates a list of errors.
[URL].....it always defaults for one database..in the service name also there is dbconsoledba1 written....my other database is dba2...do i need to create another service for dbconsole
I'm having a problem with performing backups from EM DB Control on two of my Oracle 10g 10.2.0.4 systems. When I configure and submit any backup job from EM (either online or offline), the following happens:
- When the job is due to run a Pre backup task has status of 'Scheduled'
- Prebackup task completes and status changes to 'Succeeded'
- Backup task appears with status of 'Scheduled' and value of started time within the next minute
- Status of backup task never changes from 'Scheduled', and the started time keeps updating to the current time
- This goes on indefinitely until I abort the job
At the moment I have scheduled tasks configured to run an RMAN job every night, but I need to get this working through Enterprise Manager Database control.
Something else which has happended on one of these systems is that after applying some Microsoft Critical updates the database control service would not start. The only way I could find to resolve this was to recreate the Enterprise Manager repository. Could there be a link here at all?
I've also posted this here: [URL] but with no response so far.
I have a problem when I install oracle 11g: I did an installation on a win2008 r2 server and everything works fine, I did another installation on another server in the same network as a test, but at the end of the installation I get an alert that says:
start database error control ..... Executing set oracle_unqname and then emctl start dbcontrol. of course nothing happens.
dbcontrol_nome the service instance will not start. checking the file in your home directory I always acts everything is in place. I reinstalled windows to eliminate all the checks made, repeated installation and here appeared the same problem.
question: can exist 2 oracle installations on the same network with the same name db? I currently have two installations of the same name with oracle db 10
I am getting an error regarding Starting Database Control. I have multiple databases on the same server but every time I am trying to create a new database I am getting the same error again and again.
Installed Grid Control 10.2.0.2.0 on Windows Server 2003R2 32-bit. Immediately upgraded to 10.2.0.5.0. Both install and upgrade went fine, Grid Control can see its own database in the list of targets, looks good.
I then installed Oracle 11gR2 11.2.0.1.0 64-bit on Windows Server 2008R2 64-bit and created a new database. I then installed the 10.2.0.5.0 agent manually on the server via OUI. Agent install went fine, secured and started properly.
The problems I'm having is Grid Control can't seem to see the database instance. If I go to "Targets", GC can see the host just fine, shows that its up and can see targets for the listener (Up), the agent at port 3872 (Up), and the database instance (Down). Drilling down to the database instance, it shows that the instance is not up (though it is as I can connect to it from a different machine and run queries against not) and the Agent Connection to Instance is down with the error: Failed to connect to database instance: (UNKNOWN OCI STATUS 1804) OCIInitialize. Check ORACLE_HOME and NLS settings etc...
Also, pulling up the "Alerts" tab for errors showed the following for Metrics "Access to Important Tables and Views", "DB Data Files Permissions", and "DB Control Files Permission":
Target: SR3 Type: Database Instance Metric: Access To Important Tables And Views Collection Timestamp: Jun 11, 2010 11:11:26 AM Error Type: Collection Failure Message: 1804 at c:oracleagent10g/sysman/admin/scripts/db/esaDbUtils.pl line 290. There are also several "Missing Properties : [AdrHome,ConvertFromCharset, needCharsetConvert]" errors listed too.
I've looked into the 1804 error and from what I could find, its a perl-related issue with not being able to get the ORACLE_HOME information.
- I verified that ORACLE_HOME was set in the environment variables and even rebooted to make sure it was being picked up properly. That didn't work. - I added "$ENV{ORACLE_HOME}='c:\oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome';" to the esaDbUtils.pl file. That didn't work either. - I added the GC security certificate to the trusted certificates on the target box in case it was some kind of SSL issue. I don't get the annoying "invalid certificate" warning, but it didn't fix it.
I'm trying to create a database using DBCA, but before it completes i recieve the following error:
enterprise manager configuration failed due to the following error - Error starting database control refer to the log file at
E:oracleproduct10.2.0db_2cfgtoollogsdbcaorcl30emconfig.log - for mote details you can retry configuring this database with enterprise manager later by manually running E:oracleproduct10.2.0db_2inemca script
I'm using oracle 10g version 10.2.0.5, and my operating system is windows 7
I am using oracle 11g on OEL 5.8. Facing problem in database control, when i browse using database control it shows me missing plugin. I have install jre 6 but no luck.
I've installed Grid Control (aka OMS) 10.2.0.5 and try to look at the Database Performance. But instead of information I receive headers and blank picture in the place where usually all charts are shown. As a matter of fact it looks like the page tries to access that data source, but fails in that and shows just a symbol of picture that was not loaded and all menus from that page.
When I view Database Throughput Metric Data, e.g. Consistent Read Gets (per second) using "Real Time: 30 Second Refresh", it appears that timestamp are 5 hours behind the current time. This can be also observed by "Last Upload" timestamp from "All Metrics" view of the database instance for "Throughput" Metrics.
It was not like this for EM GC10.2.0.2. I'm wondering if anything changed in GC 11g.
I even tried to set low alarm thresholds for "Consistent Read Gets" metric, it doesn't seems to work on the timestamp of the realtime data.
I'm monitoring and all my databases using grid control. Recently I added a dataguard configuration but the standby database shows me a lot of error simple because it's in MOUNT state. how I should configure grid control or the standby database so the errors disappear?
