Client Tools :: Exporting Result Into Excel Or Text File?
Jul 2, 2012
i'm working on sql developer my table contains 40 columns and contains around 4 to 5 lakhs records........
when i'm trying to export the results into excel or text file my sql developer is getting hanged... if the result is less than 2lakh record its copying....
I want to execute a query which automatically saves the result of a set of queries in a text file and have to send that as an attachment thru a mail (using UTL_MAIL or UTL_SMTP) thru a stored procedure...saving the result in a text file in Toad.
want to load data from an excel file to a database table in Oracle. I am using Oracle 11 and the excel file has 3 columns as compared to 5 columns in the destination table. I want to generate sequential nos also for the table.
I have extracted data from table and write into one text via sqlplus utility in shell scripts. i got correct output. i am having two issues on the output file
1) Outfile file size is huge high compare then table segment data.
2) last column having extra space.
The output column is clob datatype. so i have added set long 50000 and set longchunksize 50000 parameter. after adding these only i got above issues. without two options, i am not getting this isssue but lines are wrapped.
#Set the scripts Path SCRIPTS_PATH="/usr/local/ccms/gpa/svr/scripts" echo $SCRIPTS_PATH
I would like to store my sql query output into text file.Like for example:
select name from emp where emp_id=101; Here output should be in text file as swapna.
I dont want to use spool statement here, since If I use it,spool statement will also be printed in text file which is not my requirement.I just want to take only output.
I have added a bitmap image in my workbook but when i am exporting it into excel or HTML ,only text part of the title is exporting into excel file . The bitmap is only visible in discoverer workbook ,after exporting to excel or HTML, it disappears,
I want to export the oracle data into an excel sheet. I have written the code by using UTL_FILE package. but i am getting the output as shown in the screen shot(without formatting the column size as the width of the data it has). But I want the output column width to be set according to the size of the data automatically.
I have a specific requirement. Currently in our system a SQL script is automated trough TOAD DATA ANALYST (Contains 50 sql Select statement) and all the output are stored in a single excel file in multiple worksheet. All these sql statements are running sequentially. Now my requirement is
1) All the sql queries will be executed in database in parallel . 2) All the output of select statement will be stored in a single excel. 3) Idea using any Client but Toad is preferred.
I have to export the results of a query to an Excel spreadsheet. Easy enough; however it is that I have to do it for each group. What I want to do is to be able to save it in a file that has the group number.
This is the query Lets say that I have the groups in the valiable RegionID: 11213, 21345 and 6537
@export on; @export set filename="C:11213IP_claims_11213_.xls" select * from mytable where RegionID=11213;
How I can make it that I do not have to manually change the folder name in the direction and the where statement for each RegionID?
and the following select statement results in multiple lines:
SQL> select INSTANCE_NAME,STATUS from v$instance; INSTANCE_NAME ------------------------------------------------ STATUS ------------------------------------ BUP OPEN
Another database has following characterset settings:
SQL> select INSTANCE_NAME,STATUS from v$instance; INSTANCE_NAME STATUS ---------------- ------------------------------------ HPSMP OPEN
Both databases are version 10.2.0.4 and both are running on HPUX 11.31.Why do we get this differents in showing the result?
Our problem is that the package-start scripts from HP, to start a database, check the result of the select statement above and if we have the multiline result the check gives an error and stops the package again.
Anyway, I do not have much experience with databases (with MS Excel I do) but most of the problems I have been able to resolve by myself.I am using a TNS database.
I want to import data from SAP to the database, but we are having some problems with the connection and so on.Anyway, the only way to get the data into the database is to key them in manually or to import them.I have been using the import function (I had a lot of trouble with date formats) and it worked:I selected the "Import Data", the corresponsing file and then have been able to see an extract of the data. It worked and I have been able to import data from an Excel file to the database.
But an error occured: Some lines have not been copied. So I wanted to reimport them. But from this point of time I have not been able to open any Excel file anymore...When I select the file no extract/preview is given anymore and the file seems to be empty.I cannot select tabs of the Excel file or anything like this.
I restarted the computer, established a new connection to the database and even reinstalled my client. It seems that one setting has changed.I am still able to import the data from *.csv files, but this is not as comfortable that using Excel.
Here is one way to create EXCEL file from oracle sql query and prevent excel displaying large numbers in scientific notation(exponential notation)
set feedback off set verify off set heading off spool c:excel_test.xls select 'PO_NUMBER'||chr(9)||'VENDOR_NUMBER' from dual union select '=PROPER('||po_number||')'||chr(9)||'=PROPER('||vendor_number||')'||chr(9) from invoices where rownum < 12 order by 1 desc
Note that PO_NUMBER is 16 characters, VENDOR_NUMBER is 15 characters in invoices table.
Now we are having 100+ sql queries and we making all those queries as procedures.after that we want to schedule those procedures and get data to export into excel file.
so we are planning to use utl_file to get data export excel. we may have rows of 30000 above.is it utl_file will be able upload all these rows into excel.any performance issue will come.
I am connected to an oracle database on campus thru my laptop. The interface i am using is oracle sql developer. We are practicing entering SQL commands. The connection name is DBA120. So, the name of the database is DBA120, correct? Also, I must review the respective ERD (i.e., to know the table relationships) in order to determine the proper sql commands, correct?
Well, in this database connection (DBA120), there are several tables that actually pertain to three different databases, ACCOUNTING, BOOK, and DJ. (I have the respective ERDs.)
I want to be able to save a database to file so I can run it on another computer. How do I save each of the three databases to a file or can't I? Or must I save the DBA120 database? how do i do that? do i save it(them) as sql files?
To add application name in a spool file, I am using the below way.
sqlplus username/pwd@tns @xyz.sql APP0115
SQL> define appname="'&1'" Enter value for 1: APP0115 SQL> prompt &appname 'APP0115' SQL> spool &appname._html_jobs.csv; SP2-0768: Illegal SPOOL command Usage: SPOOL { <file> | OFF | OUT } where <file> is file_name[.ext] [CRE[ATE]|REP[LACE]|APP[END]]
But I am getting the above error in the spool file clause because of single quote printing infront of the spool file. But the method of defining a character is "'&1'". So I cannot avoid this single quote in the define clause.
'APP0115'
print the appname like APP0115 instead 'APP0115'.then only I can use this in the spool file clause?
I need to say I am an absolute NOOB when it comes to SQL.I need a script to run in TOAD that will reference a CSV file saved onto my local hard drive. I'll try and describe exactly what I need to do.
The current script which I use via TOAD on our companies READ ONLY database is this:
SELECT d.number_id, d.status_id, FROM table.number_t d WHERE d.number_id IN ('1230001', '1230002', '1230003')
This will return a result for each number that exists within the table.number table along with the status of each number i.e. active or inactive. A very basic query.
What I need to be able to do is run that query but instead of having to copy each number into TOAD manually, I need TOAD to check a .csv file of said numbers and then return the results. So I imagine the query would look something like:
SELECT d.number_id, d.status_id, FROM table.number_t d WHERE d.number_id IN (check
