Client Tools :: How To Create A Table In Another Schema As In Existing Schema
Apr 26, 2010
I would like to create a table in another schema(CBF) as already exist in my schema(TLC) without data but related indexes, synonyms and grants should be include.
How could I do this without using export import. I am using TOAD 9.0.1.
I am trying to create an erd for an existing schema and it has 91 tables and 6 views. An erd for all the tables and views is been requested but when i used the erd option, it asks me to select a file and asks how many levels of referential tables do you want to load? and the box by default shows 5. If i change or leave the no.5 alone and hit ok, and select one of the tables, it only shows an erd for about 6 to 8 tables connected. Whereas, the entire schema is connect with primary and foreign keys.
We are playing with Toad 9.7 and seems like the right tools for Trade. The schema browser on left hand side I am keeping on Multi Tab type. The one problem is that when I select Table or Constraint from there, the tabs rearrange and is quite annoying to find another tab say View again since it has changed its location.
Is there any way to keep the TABS fixed to their location so when you select no changing of their position occur.
I am creating a table from another existing table in another schema. The existing table contains data. When I am using the query- create table m _voucher as select * from ipm.m_voucher,I am getting the whole data of m_voucher but I want empty m_voucher table, so what will be the query to get the empty m_voucher table?

how can i grant a user permission to create tables and indexes in other user schema.Grant create table permits the user to create tables in his own schema which is part of Resource role.Grant any table will permit him to create table in any schema including system which i don't want.
Presently have one instance, one Schema on my DB Server. Want to split the existing schema into 3 logical divisions. Have created the 3 Schemas. Through Oracle Export from the old Schema am able to Export (using wild cards) the tables and indices for each grouping and am able to Import into the new specific schema. The problem i'm having is that i cannot seem to Export the specific sequences due for each of the new schemas. Is there an easy way to accomplish this?
Our Testing DB is running in No archive log mode. I did a schema level import by dropping the existing user that contain tables, recreate the user and finished the import. Now they want the old tables back.Is there is any way to recover the old tables?
A single master schema where many developers are accessing. all share same password.
now i would like to trace all the changes made by each users. so i create a individual users for all and grant permission to access that schema.do i have a possibility of auditing the changes did by each user for that particular schema
We have an application with many separate databases (one per customer). Given they share the same business requirements (service hours, change mgmt etc), we're interested in potentially consolidating the separate DBs (which are relatively small) into separate schemas within a fewer no of databases to reduce the overhead.
Our issue is that the application is hard-coded to use a specific administrator and application connection user name. Changing this is unfortunately not an option.
Given this limitation, is there any possibility to map a generic user into a customer-specific schema based on the database service that they connect to? Each customer connects to different database services but may use the same user name. We considered using private synonyms but this seems to acheive the opposite (i.e. many different users could connect and map to a single users schema). One thing to point out is that where there is a single user name, it is acceptable for a single password to be used across the different customer DBs as they will be a single admin/user.
move the tables with data present in the user scott(full) to another schema named test. In my case scott is in user tablespace and for test schema i have created different tablespace named test_tbs.
I have created 2 different databases and each have their own schema user for eg we have database ALIVE with user allive and the other database RLIVE with user rllive , actually we have implemented new module in ALIVE database and in the process we created many tables , synonyms , index and other objects now we want to list out all the tables ,sequences as scripts which are not present in RLIVE and create them in RLIVE as new objects.
We have an application is must be connected to our database for specific requirements in our company but this application has a very bug thing as we must write the super DB password "Like HR password as example" clear in some files and these files must be shared so developers can use the HR password to do any action !!! I know that this application is a problem but we have to install
I can do this by creating trigger on each table will restrict DML. As example: if the operating system user is XXX, the trigger restrict the action. But not logic at all to create more than 1000 triggers on schema (This will impact badly on DB performance).
So, i need to create one trigger to fire before doing any DML on all schema tables. As example: If "MMM" the administrator operating system user trying to do insert action, he can do the action. BUT If "DEV" the developer operating system user trying to do insert action, the trigger must fire here to restrict this action.
Be noted also, i need this trigger not depend on any specific tool like Toad as any user can simply rename the exe file for toad then he can pass the trigger. At least, trigger must depend on (Operating system user & Action_type)
I do a schema in oracle ... an m my question is if I can create 2 o more users for access to a schema..for example i have schema Project and i need that one administrator and 2 more users with others permission.
I want to send mail whenever the schema password is changed by the developers (clients) . I created this trigger to send mail. I am able to know which schema's password is changed but i want know how to get the client details who is changing the password.
Create Trigger Pwd_chg_trigger before alter on database declare begin if (ora_dict_obj_type = 'USER') then DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(' ORA_DICT_OBJ_OWNER = ' || ORA_DICT_OBJ_NAME); -- to know which schema -- using the above value and additional formatting i am sending the mail using my SMTP end if; end; /
