View 1 RepliesI am using apex 4.1 and database as oracle 11g. I uploaded images and stored in table structure as shown below
>>CREATE TABLE "HR_EMPLOYEE_DETAILS"
>> ( "ID" NUMBER,
>> "HR_ID" NUMBER NOT NULL ENABLE,
>> "PHOTO_BLOB" BLOB,
>> "MIME_TYPE" VARCHAR2(64),
>> PRIMARY KEY ("ID") ENABLE
>> )
My Requirement is to show the image in a report region as well as in a html region. I followed the methods in the URL links mentioned below.

But the image is not getting populated in the region, I tried with display_item with image i am able to view the image using this item.
available for doing reporting in BI Publisher? For example, I would like to use the same report for one person or for many people. This would mean that a where clause should be added when it is for the individual and would not be needed for the whole population. I do not see a way to dynamically build the report using "Report Queries" in Shared Components.
It is easy to build a sql query based on different selection criteria in the Region Source of a pagethat then gets displayedd on the page but I am not seeing much flexibility in creating a report with BI Publisher in Apex.
I have a number of reports subregions in a page . Each of reports sub-region has a HTML text and a cell (report with a single column ) having a count sql . Now , the problem is that the HTML text in some below sub-regions are not getting displayed .. Is there a limit on the no. of sub regions???? Can there be any alternative way to display all the HTML text and the corresponding count sql in a page .

I have select list which has null and other values. I have created a blank HTML region with the following text
Report for the year &P2_YEAR. and for geography &P2_GEOG.
Now P2_YEAR works fine because, it is always populated with a year. However, &P2_GEOG has 'All' as null value since we can see the report for all geographies. However, if the all option is selected, the above &P2_GEOG. shows as null. Since its not a PL/SQL proc, I cannot put in a NVL. I am guessing one possible way is to write a PL/SQL code before region and then check if its null and then try to populate a new hidden field and show, something like that. Wondering if there is a way to do it directly in the HTML region?
How to color HTML region header depending on SQL query result ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've created a interactive report, and i have more items than my window behaves. So, i want to separate in two regions, and put in one region a scroll bar. How i can do this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to display the row number in the report region at the beginning of each row for each page (based on the number of rows to display per page).
So if the number of rows per page is 15, I would want to show each row from 1 to 15. When going to the next page (16 - 31) I would like to show row 1 to 15 again next to each row. And if the number of rows per page is 20, I want to see row numbers 1 to 20 on each page.
Since I believe an Update button only processes the current page, I would like to then use this row numbers (1 - 15) to get the values of the displayed column for each row to perform an insert to another table.
Does version 4.2 create a new db session for each report run on a page?
The reason I ask is we have a page with 4 report regions, each querying a global temporary table that is populated in a 'Before Regions' page process. The first report displays the correct data, but the others return 'No Data Found' and it is because the Global Temporary Table has been cleared out following the first report. This did not happen in 4.1.
I know we should be using Apex Collections, and we will in future, but time is at a premium to get this live
I have what I hope is a simple question. I have a SQL Report region and I want to add more padding to the left and right sides of the table cell. I don't want to change the style sheet because I don't want to affect other pages. But I tried adding style attributes on the "Region HTML table cell attributes" field but I still can't get it to work. give me an example of how I can do this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedRe: Report Columns duplicated when region is copied.
When I copy a region which I have created via master-detail form, the report columns are duplicated. I'm actually copying the whole page but I have had other cases where I just copying the desired region and the columns were duplicated there as well. And, of course, there is no way that I know to delete columns from the form. But I doubt because -- in at least some cases I've tried -- the columns seems to be "linked" in that a change to one copy of the column was duplicated in the other when changes were applied.
In the example (below), there are three regions on the page and the problem occurs in region 2. (I think I will likely delete the first region.) It's been agonizing trying to get the report of region 2 and the tabular formish edits of region 3 on the same page. I made this in Oracle 11.2 in our APEX 4.1 and imported it to 4.2. You can see it here:
WS apex_examples_01
demo
demo
Appl. 991204
Page 57 is the original page created in 4.1 and imported
Page 58 is the page copied from 57 under 4.1 and imported
Page 59 is the page copied from 57 under 4.2 (Same result as in 4.1.)
If you want to try the page, select DSD01 from the DSD LOV, click "Query Process" and then click the edit icon. Ignore the region 1 errors -- I'll probably delete this region. The data is region 3 is for Run Date 12-May-13.
Is there some setting that allows this region to be copied without duplicating columns?
P.S. I think I know why it happens: APEX hates me!
Apex 4.2I currently have a report column in a classic report that has a Column Formatting Attribute as below. This works fine it shows a map icon that when you click on it goes off to google maps and put 2 geo points on a map. However I need to change this report column so that the HTML expression will be different dependent on the value returned so if the column returns 1 then the HTML Expression will be slightly different.
HTML EXPRESSION <span class="map_#BROKE_GEO#_#VALID_GEO_CODES#"><a target=_blank href="f?p=&APP_ID.:323:&SESSION.::::P323_PARCEL_ID,P323_SCAN_ID,P323_PROP_ADDR1,P323_PROP_POSTCODE,P323_PROP_LAT,P323_PROP_LONG,P323_SCAN_LAT,P323_SCAN_LONG:&P341_PARCEL_ID.,#SCAN_ID#,#LINE_1#,#POST_CODE#,#PROPERTY_GEO_LAT#,#PROPERTY_GEO_LONG#,#SCAN_GEO_LAT#,#SCAN_GEO_LONG#"><img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#&P341_IMG_MAP_#BROKE_GEO#." alt="Google Maps" title="Google Maps"></a></span>
I think I can do this in the report source directly with a case statement and include the HTML in that for the column but how do you handle all the quotes within the SQL statement. e.g.
Original Query SELECT parcel_id ,status ,LOCATION ,scan_date ,scan_id ,driver_comments ,card_id ,valid_geo_codes -- this is my html column ,property_geo_lat ,property_geo_long ,scan_geo_lat ,scan_geo_long ,broke_geo ,line_1 ,post_code FROM vw_parcel_history_details WHERE parcel_id = :p341_parcel_id ORDER BY scan_date New Query SELECT parcel_id ,status ,LOCATION
[code].....
various iterations of that large html string but I do not know how to format it because off all the quotes?
I have interactive reports where the column link on a specific column has to be dynamic, that means, it cannot be hard coded in the column link attributes. The following is an example of one such report query:
case when d.object_type_description ='Business Service' then
'< href="f?p='||:app_id||':183:'||:app_session||'::::P183_OBJECT_ID:'||d.id||'">'||d.object_name||'</>'
when d.object_type_description = 'Real Time Event' then
'< href="f?p='||:app_id||':162:'||:app_session||'::::P162_OBJECT_ID:'||d.id||'">'||d.object_name||'</>'
else
null
end
as "OBJECT NAME"As you see in the above example, the link on the "Object Name" column could either redirect to page 183 or to page 162 based on the "Object Type Description" column.
The column attribute of the "Object Name" column has "Display Type" set to "Standard Report Column". That works perfectly fine in the UI of the report. However, if I download the IR data (in any format) from the Actions -> Download menu, the object name column values are downloaded with the HTML characters as:
< href="f?p=15548:183:6072319179284::::P183_OBJECT_ID:255245470513999672860510787772603748464">JP010000</>where JP010000 is the object name.
Is there a way I can strip the HTML from the column values in the downloaded files?I am using Apex 4.1.
I am trying to output some html in an Apex (v4.1.0.00.32) interactive report in a computation field but it just outputs the html..How can I put something like a br tag or a non breaking space {noformat} {noformat}
eg
'AllTo: ' || J || '<br>Dev: ' || KOk, code I want is in the image below
I want to add button on report region Named as "Send E-mail" that should be on each row
so how can i do?
I have created a master detail form , in which many validation etc is done ,the MASTER is a FORM and DETAIL is a REPORTNow I am stuck up with the detail region .i.e reportI have Line Detail where there are ITEMS such as SL NO:
,ITEM_ID , UOM ( Unit of measuremnt ) etcNow here is where
Using POP UP LOV i have managed to fetch in LOV for the item "ITEM_ID",---
i can select an item name using the pop up LOV ,Now all that I want is when I select an item name from the pop up lov , an Item Id is displayed or fetched in that particular place , now i want the corresponding UOM to be diaplayed ( i.e the UOM for that particular Item Id which has been selected by me from the pop up lov ).
In order to resolve this I created a Dynamic action where in I get the UOM . Bt the problem is that the ITEMS displayed for selecting in the WHEN section (DYNAMIC action-IDENTIFICATION section-WHEN section----- items ( here i am not listed with ITEMS of the REPORT region instead ITEMS of the MASTER is available )-TRUE ACTION section etc is only theITEMS of the MASTER region ..
I'm using Apex 4.2. On click of a button, I refresh 2 Standard Region Reports with a Dynamic Action. This dynamic action has been working without problems for WEEKS and all of a sudden i'm getting the ORA-20876: Stop APEX Engine error when I click the button.
In the dynamic action, I removed the refresh of the second report and now the error does not occur. If I add the second refresh action back in, it throws the above error. I've even tried making the second report identical to the first and the refresh action fails. why this is failing on the second refresh action since the second report & region is IDENTICAL to the first report now.
I'm using APEX 4.2 and trying to export some classic reports to PDF. I followed these directions to install BI Publisher: URL.....Entered these values in the Apex Administration Report Settings section:
Print Server: BI Publisher
Print Server Protocol: HTTP
Print Server Host Address: URL.... (also tried with localhost and failed)
Print Server Port: 9704
Print Server Script: /xmlpserver/convert
Back in my Classic Report, I configured these settings in the Print Attributes tab:
Response Header: Report Settings (also tried with Print Server and failed)
Print URL: f?p=&APP_ID.:7:&SESSION.:FLOW_XMLP_OUTPUT_R7671716059006280
I'm getting this error: report error: ORA-20001:
The printing engine could not be reached because either the URL specified is incorrect or a proxy URL needs to be specified.I have never configured PDF printing this way and am pretty lost.
I have a classic report generated by Oracle Apex 4.0. I have customized it to have a hyperlink on each record, which when clicked opens a detail report in an iframe right under the current record. This, I am doing by using the Javascript insertRow method on the html table element (Condensed Javascript code below)
var pTable= html_CascadeUpTill(t,'TABLE');
var myNewRow = pTable.insertRow(pTR.rowIndex+1);
var myNewCell = myNewRow.insertCell(0);
myNewCell.innerHTML = '<iframe src="detail report url" height="0"></iframe>';In order to resize the height of the iFrame that is different for different detail records, I have the following code in the "Execute when Page Loads" section of the report
[code]........
Without the setTimeout call to iResize function, the iframe resize is not happening. But this setTimeout is adding a delay in the resized iframe to appear which I want to avoid. Is there a way to do this? All the related posts/articles I have seen online deal with iframes that are built into the page but not generated on-the-fly as in my case.
I have a html region with the following
<html>
<head>
<title>Report</title>
</head>
<script language="JavaScript1.2">
function items()

I have a text box item "BINDTEST" that has html element set to:onchange="items();"
I have a button with a url redirect of:
javascriptopon[URL}...
When I click on the button, popup window opens with test url but bindtest1 variable is not appended. What is proper form for trying to get value of bind variable in the url.
I tried to follow Pivot query using XML option in APEX
I can get the data into the xml serialized state, but how do I display the actual values in a region? See my example app below. I want the two far right columns in the Pivot XML region to duplicate what is in the original version.

I have 2 regions in my application one is html form region and another is tabular form .I created 6 items in html region and created DA for the items to hide according to the value of items and then created tabular form

I am using Apex 4.0 with oracle 11g.I have a requirement where I need to call a page in a region in different page.
For example. I have 2 pages page1 and page2
I need to call the page1 in page2 region.
How do I center a button within a region? I tried 'align="center"' but this seemed to be ignored. The button is at the left of the screen. Also, what are the 'display points' (Page Template Region Position 1-8) used for, and why is there a specification for column position of 1-9? Could these be attributes that will allow my button to be centered on the window instead of on the left?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just noticed on apex.oracle.com (4.2) that I couldn't find the region source for flash charts. I expected to find it under the Region Definition tab.
Has this moved or will it be included in a later release?
In Application Builder, when editing an item's properties there is a handy 'Up' arrow at the top right of each region which takes you back to the top of the page. Is there any way of adding something similar to an actual page region as this would be useful when creating particularly large pages (I know, we should design smaller pages but that's not always possible).
View 11 Replies View RelatedHow to create more than 1 body in a single region. E.g i created report region and under body tag in region all other charts reports are created.

I've created a new appliacation which has a home page and I've created a report page which updates a table. I want to add a link to my homepage, as a text line for example UpdateTable, and when I click the link, it goes to my report page. I've had a look in my Apex CookBook, and it says I do this by using the Navigation region in my home page. The problem is I don't seem to have a navigation region in my home page. I thought initially it meant the navigation bar, but I now realise this is the header bar. Do you know how I can create a navigation region in my home page..?
