I have 2 workspaces, the one regard as Dev env, another regard as Pro. env. When the change need to be migrated, the some page of Dev workspace should be copy to Pro. one. I export the pages what I want to move from Dev., then try to import it into Pro. but I get the error as below:
Page Origin: This page was exported from a different application or from an application in different workspace. Page cannot be installed in this application. I don't want to copy the page one by one.
I have multiple application set-up using session sharing within the workspace.Technically all works fine, however it does not play nice with user behaviour.
Example:
Users logs into APP_ID:100. Since he isn't authenticated yet, he provides user/pass and the APP_SESSION is authenticated.
Now if the user switches using to another application (using a link provided in application 100) he gets redirect to APP_ID:101:APP_SESSION all is fine.
The session is already authenticated, the application shares the session and the user gains access to app 101 without having to authenticate again. All's fine!
However users don't behave they way. Instead of using an easy link in the application. They will use their own bookmark or type in the url for app 101 manually. That way the next application is either called with f?p=101:1:[SOME OLD SESSIONID FROM BOOMARK] or f?p=101 (with no further page or session info) In both cases instead of using the already authenticated session apex spawns a new session, which of course isn't authenticated yet thus forcing the user to authenticate and come complaining they have to login again.
Similar behaviour problems exists when the user opens a browser and tries to open both applications in each in a tab next to each other.Both tabs fetch there own initial session id and start writing it to the same cookie each in turn invalidating the other tab's session.These can lead to some fanatic ping pong actions. Thus it's impossible to open 2 applications sharing session in the same browser.
Is there any remedy for these situations?Can apex be as smart as for instance first trying to resume the session stored in the cookie and only if that session is invalid, start a new session?
APEX 4.0 Sometimes, I am getting the below error when I tried to logging into APEX workspace (after giving workspace name, User name and password), Expecting p_company or wwv_flow_company cookie to contain security group id of application owner.
ErrorERR-7621 Could not determine workspace for application (:) on application accept. I found some threads related to this but in different way not exactly when I am getting this error.
After 2 or 3 times, this error will not come and I can able to logging into workspace What is the cause for this issue??
There are two applications in the work space. Both the application have a link to navigation back and forth to the each other. have created a DB authentication to both the application.
My Requirement is if user log's into one application and navigate to other it must not ask for username and password
I am trying to export a workspace from apex 3.2 to apex 4.2. After the workspace has been imported into apex 4.2, do I have to export and import the applications too? Don't applications reside on workspace and therefore if a workspace is imported, all the applications should have been imported by default?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to export my whole workspace/application from Oracle Application Express so if i was to move onto a new pc and install oracle again. I can import this file and everything will be as it was without need of editing anything.
Is this possible if so how? - Preferably export into 1 big file so importing will be with 1 mouse click instead of exporting to seperate database files etc.
I support an APEX app that has one workspace for Development and one for the live Production application. When I originally created the Dev instance I was able to copy tables and data by granting select privileges between the two workspaces (I did this one table at a time).
The development workspace data needs to be refreshed from production since it's been a long time since the initial refresh and is very out of date. I would like to do a couple things:
1) execute SQL to compare the tables in the two workspaces to ensure they're structurally identical
2) execute SQL to truncate Dev tables and refresh from Prod Is there a way to do this?
I tried to create my EA workspace for APEX 4.2 and got the following Error.
ORA-20987: APEX - GET_BLOCK Error. - ORA-20001: Execution of the statement was unsuccessful. ORA-01653: unable to extend table APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_PAGE_PLUGS by 1024 in tablespace APEX_REL42 <pre>declare s varchar2(32767) := null; l_clob clob; l_length number := 1; begin s := null; wwv_flow_api.create_page_plug ( p_id=> 6594522669003504543 + wwv_flow_api.g_id_offset, p_flow_id=> wwv_flow.g_flow_id, p_page_id=> 0, p_plug_name=> 'Menu', p_region_name=&g
We have integrated Oracle Access Manager 11gR1 with Oracle Apex 4.1. The OAM-Apex integration is working fine. Now we want an additional header variable to be passed from OAM to the Apex application. This new header variable will be user's sAMAccountName in Active Directory. OAM is integrated with AD and the AD users are successfully able to access the Apex applications.
The three header variables which are configure in OAM right now are:
Header variable name Value
1. OAM_REMOTE_USER $user.userid
2. OAM_REMOTE_USER_EMAIL $user.attr.mail
3. OAM_REMOTE_USER_GROUPS $user.groups
We need an additional header variable as mentioned below:
Header variable name: OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME
Value: $user.attr.samaccountname
The new header variable was added in the OHS server's dads.conf file like shown below:
=========== dads.conf =============
...
PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList HTTP_OAM_REMOTE_USER
PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList HTTP_OAM_REMOTE_USER_GROUPS
PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList HTTP_OAM_REMOTE_USER_EMAIL
PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList HTTP_OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME
But we are not able to read the value of this attribute in the Apex application.On the Apex application, we have a text box which shows the value of this header variable. This textbox is attached with the following stored procedure call to fetch the header variable:
===================
begin
:P1_HEADER_VALUE := owa_util.get_cgi_env( 'HTTP_OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME' );
end;
The textbox shows the correct value if HTTP_OAM_REMOTE_USER is passed to the get_cgi_env method but does not shows anything when HTTP_OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME is passed to the same method. if I am missing some configuration to pass the HTTP_OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME haeder variable from OAM to Apex.
Is there a way to make a button conditional on the existence of another app in the same workspace. What I am trying to do is have a MAIN app and several other MODULE apps in the same workspace. Then a button on a form in the MAIN app that will redirect to a specific page in one of the MODULE apps. If the MODULE app does not exist, meaning not installed, then the button would be invisible.

We are looking for a way to have one authentication scheme defined for all the applications so that user doesn't have to enter username/password for each application. How can I share my LDAP authentication scheme for multiple applications.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a form that based on a table,
Col1: text field
Col2: text field with Disabled =Yes and Save session state = Yes
I create a dynamic action on Col1 to set value for Col2, when I submit page an error raised: Session state protection violation
visit: [URL]...
My purpose is: Col2 is set value by Col1 via Dynamic action, and is read-only, user cannot modify.
I had a situation last year where I could not login as myself or see any objects in my schema. Some code using APEX methods to create a new APEX user, and it finally worked.
The new user, ADMINUSERS suddenly had its password expire and I could not reset it, so I repeated last years’ effort but this time nothing worked.
Now I have a problem where I cannot even read a table if it is in another schema, even if I use the schema name as a qualifier. This happens even in SQL plus, except when I login as System I can read tables in other schemas if I prefix the table name with the schema and a dot. But this does not work with other users, even though I have granted the other users the role of dba.
i encountered a big problem after upgrading Apex from 4.1 to 4.2.2. On an application page there is a Text Area which will be read and processed after clicking a button. I didn't want a refresh of the page and did it with a dynamic action.All this worked like a charm with 4.1. Since the upgrade, the value of the Text Area is always returned as null while processing the dynamic action, but the value is filled by the user!When i change the type of the Element to Rich Text Area everything works fine, but i don't want this because i don't want HTML in the corresponding table. Is this a bug? How can i workaround it?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have Select list itemS based on Lookup tables. When the form in Edit mode, I want to prevent the end user from changing the value of these Select list items. How can I accomplish this ??? **If I change the type of the item to Display only, then it will show the returned value of the Select list.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an item that does not save to the database.it is conditional read only based on the value in another column, when it is not read only it displays as a Select list.. then whatever is chosen triggers a dynamic action that sets other items.so setting it as a display only is not an option.
after upgrading from 4.0 to apex 4.2 this gives error: Session state protection violation: This may be caused by manual alteration of protected page...
the only workaround I have found is to set the Read Only to none, then create a dynamic action that conditionally sets the field to disabled..This works, but my problem with it is that it looks different than the read only..read only was Black Text and no textbox..disabled is a text box with greyed out text that is hard to read for some of the users..
Can we change the condition of an item from always to none on the real time ? How ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am in the middle of upgrading my application to Apex 4.1 from 3.2.1. I have been using the default delete message and now it won't work.
<script langues="javascript" type ="text/javascript"
<!--
htmldb_delete_message='"DELETE_CONFRIM_MSG"';
//-->
</script>
button action
redirect to url ----> javascript:confirmDelete(htmldb_delete_message,'DELETE_RATING');
now all I receive is a message from the webpage, instead of the message.
I created report with row selector, when I select one row I get tabular form regarding to the selected row from report. I can insert and update data from tabular form, but I have problem with deleting them. Error I get is
ORA-01403: no data found (Row 207589)
My tabular form is created by wizard and primary key is managed by database rowid, I use apex 4.1 an 10g database.
I have a wizard created tabular form, adding a row is easy using addRow() function, is there a way that I can delete the row from it? Let's say I have added a row and not submitted the form, but now I want to delete just that row from the form, how can I do that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am not familiar with form with report in APEX. I have a lot of forms with reports that was created before, but they have only create buttons. Now I need to add edit and delete buttons. I wish I do not have to recreate forms with reports. But when I tried to add delete function by comparing a form with delete button created by APEX, but it does not work. the delete button does not react at all.
setting is as follows:
button style: template based button
button template: Button
button type: normal
action: redirect to URL
execute validation: NO
URL target: javascript:apex.confirm(htmldb_delete_message,'DELETE');
database action: SQL delete action
condition type: value of item / column in expression1 is not null
expression1: P2172_ALIAS_ID
I also enable the delete in the process of :"Process Row of SOR_ALIAS"
If I set action of delete button as submit page, I can delete the row, but no standard popup warning,
I have created a simple page with a tabular form built on a view. The view is on top of a collection that is created when the page is ran. I added a tabular form column validation. I then was going to add a pl/sql process to handle the updates into the db, but before I did that I wanted to delete the ApplyMRU that was created when I first created the tabular form because it does not make sense on my view. When I went to delete the MRU it gave me an error saying "Multi Row Update processes can't be deleted as long as there are validations defined for the tabular form".
I have searched for an answer on this, but so far I have not found much. I am hoping it is something simple that I am missing. I even tried deleting the MRU first and then add the validation, but then it gave me another error about "Tabular form validations require multi-row update processes" I know this was possible in 4.1, but now I am trying it on 4.2
I understand everything -- <gripe> need better Automated Row Fetch (ARF) documentation </gripe>, but I now have CREATE, QUERY, and DELETE working and I can choose to clear the form (or NOT). And I don't claim this is the best or simplest or most-efficient or most straight-forward approach. It's one virtue is that it does seem to work.
I need to be careful state that this involves both Automated Row Processing (ARP) -- which enables INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE. And Automated Row Fetch (ARF) -- which enables SELECT. ARF is found under Page Rendering and ARP is found under page processing. As we have seen, the two are -- or can be -- interdependent. For example, I believe the error I talk about next is caused by ARF trying to fetch the record just deleted by ARP.
Starting from the situation of
1) having the values retained on the screen when CREATE is clicked and the record is added and
2) getting a database error after a DELETE of a row, A solution is the "reset" processes. Under Page Rendering add a "reset page" process to: "Clear Cache for all Items on Pages (PageID,PageID,PageID)" and indicate the page with the database operations and under Conditions: When Button Pressed: choose CANCEL, CREATE, DELETE, QUERY or SAVE. I made two of these - one for CREATE and one for DELETE. To cover both buttons, you need two processes as you can only indicate one button per process.
Now the form (screen) is cleared after the CREATE (by process
1). And since it's also cleared after the DELETE (by process
2), there is no Database error on DELETE.
(The source of that error was ARF trying to retrieve the deleted record because the PK field had the "just deleted" key value. This nulls it and I have ARF set not to attempt a fetch when the key field is null.
So, how about that? Burleson has an example here which adds more detail than I recall seeing before.URL>....
I think the DML Fetch Mode settings he shows are new to the ARP screen in 4.2. I don't see them in 4.1.
I am currently using APEX 4.1 on oracle 11g XE.
By now I only know one way to delete text messages (globalization) and that is click them one-by-one and hitting the delete button.
To delete 100 messages this is really a pain, so I thought, there must be a way to multi-delete them, or just flush them out!
I searched all over the internet but I can't seem to find a way.
Is there a way to delete all text messages? For example by using wwv_flow_api or any other way?
how to use checkbox item, and trying to get checked options values via application global arrays. So, this may be quite simple question, but I'm completely stuck here...
When I was looking through various threads and guides, I've encountered checkbox corresponding array names like "g_f01" - "g_f50". And so far i saw that these names are derived from item name in generated HTML code, for example:
<input type="checkbox" name="*f10*" value="3" />
And this one stands for array name "g_*f10*".However, when I tried to do the same thing - i receive item name which looks like "*p_v04*", and therefore, I can't figure out, which array name should I choose to adress it properly.
My generated HTML snippet:
<input type="checkbox" id="P6_ANSWER_0" name="*p_v04*" value="3"/>
i want to display a list of all users on a page those currently accessing or using the application. How do i accomplish this requirement?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEach time when I import an application into my workspace in local 10g XE using the APEX 4.2 Application Builder, I get the "ORA-02291, constraint wwv_flows_fk violated..". The application I whant to import was originally exported from [URL]. I found out, that it has to to with wwv_flow_application_install.get_workspace_id in the installation script, which obviously returns NULL and not my current workspace id as I suppose it should. I replaced wwv_flow_application_install.get_workspace_id by '<my worskspace id>' and then the import does work.
