XML File Generation From Oracle Java Procedure
Dec 6, 2011
I have written a Java class which generate and place the XML file in a particular location. This the java class is loaded into Oracle using the loadjava command. When I call the sql java procedure java classn will be called and the XML file is generating.
But my problem is with xml header i.e in the header it is getting as
<?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
Where as I am generating the xml file from by just java call instead from Oracle the header is as follows
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
I am thinking that this could be reason with different jar using Oracle side.

I am writing a java stored procedure in my package. In the java procedure I want to issue a query to be fired on the user table from which I am calling the java procedure.
Some thing like following:
I am logged in to USER1 and my package is inside USER1. From this package I am calling the Java Stored Procedure. In java procedure I want to make a jdbc connection to USER2. The details of USER2(password, hostname,portno) are stored in a table called 'connection_details' and this table is in the USER1.
My problem is how can I issue the
SELECT details FROM CONNECTION_DETAILS for USER2
so that i can get the details..?
Do i need to first make jdbc connection to USER1 and then execute the above query for which i need similar details of USER1. How can i obtain the details of USER1 here.
I am thinking if I am already in USER1 then do I need to make the jdbc connection to USER1 and then execute the query?

I am trying to invoke program from my local Windows machine (exactly java executor, which is in my environment on c:javajdkinjava) using database package with Java stored procedure.
Everything is fired by SQLPLUS script, this script invokes package with Java stored procedure (jar loaded into Oracle) and that procedure is trying to invoke runtime process (syntax:
c:javajdkinjava -cp
and here ara my classes and main jar) using my local java executor. I added all permissions using dbms_java.grant_permisions (execution forced me to give permissions java.io.FilePermission to <<ALL_FILES>> for execute), moreover I added to my database user JAVASYSPRIV and JAVAUSERPRIV role. Unfortunately, beside this I am still getting error:
C:javajdkinjava not found (Note that lookup with PATH isn't done due to the oracle executable being setuid.)

I have a base table by name EMP_MASTER.The Create Statement goes something like this....
CREATE TABLE EMP_MASTER(ST_CODE NUMBER,EMP_CODE NUMBER);We would like to insert records in such a way that there are 10 st_codes and for each st_code we need to insert 100 records.
FOR EX : for st_code 1 we need to have emp_code from 1 to 100 and then we need to insert st_code 2 and the emp_code must be from 101 to 200 and so on...... It must go in this way till we have st_code 10 and hope the emp_code will be in the range of 901 to 1000.
We need some thing similar to proc or PL/SQL block(declare begin..... end)

Here is my situation.
1. I generate file_name through a function.
2. File name like File_DD_MM_YY_FLXXX.
3. Now this FLXXX is the filenumber. It will be 1 for the 1st run of the day and for each of the new run it will be +1. Again next day it will start from 1.
So right now I am using a sequence and resetting it at 12 AM to 0. Is it a good approach to solve the scenario?

I have a question on export dump file generation.
select sum(bytes)/(1024*1024*1024) "GB" from dba_segments where owner='JACK';
The above select query give the output of Schema size with 15 GB. When i perform the same schema export, the dump file size generating is 2 GB. What is the difference between the two scenarios as how come there could be a variation in file size?

We are facing one issue on one of the database. The database is generating large trace files(14000) from last two days. That consumes around 15G space on the disk. And the content of the trace files is not having any meaningful message to debug:
cat /apps/oracle/admin/fs90uat/bdump/fs90uat_p050_23966.trc
*** TRACE DUMP CONTINUES IN FILE /apps/oracle/admin/fs90uat/bdump/fs90uat_p050_23966.trc ***
Dump file /apps/oracle/admin/fs90uat/bdump/fs90uat_p050_23966.trc
*** TRACE DUMP CONTINUED FROM FILE /apps/oracle/admin/fs90uat/bdump/fs90uat_p050_23966.trc ***
... (Many lines with above message)
The alert log is having one repeated error yesterday:

I am trying to execute an xslt (for XML transformation) using xmltype.transform function.
I can't paste XSLT code here, but below is similar what I am doing.
[URL]
I have used a reference of random() method of java.lang.Math in xslt file, and it's giving me below error.
ORA-31011: XML parsing failed
ORA-19202: Error occurred in XML processing
LPX-00607: Invalid reference: 'random'.
I doubt, it's because of "Math" class, which is not present in Oracle, how to load standard java classes.

I need to email an excel file as an attachment in the mail through oracle procedure. I am using UTL_TCP option.
The remote_host i use in test environment is the 'name of the test server'. This test server is a oracle10g database on AIX server.In the test environment the mail works fine.
utl_tcp.open_connection(remote_host => 'test server',
remote_port => 25,
tx_timeout => null);
The same thing if i use in production environment, it does not work. The production server is a 9i database on a unix server.
utl_tcp.open_connection(remote_host => 'prod server',
remote_port => 25,
tx_timeout => null);
Does the 10g has option to host SMTP service as apposed to 9i?

I've written a Java stored procedure that deletes some provided file. The PL/SQL procedure looks like :
procedure delete (file in varchar);
The procedure does the work correctly when the provided file name exists on the DB server, but doesn't when the file is ou of the DB server.
Is there a way to resolve this ?

We have a stored procedure named proc_java_test . From this stored proc, we need to call a java class named java_test.java
This class posts messages to a queue hosted on an app server running on a separate box.
create or replace
PROCEDURE PROC_JAVA_TEST
(
num IN NUMBER
)
AS LANGUAGE JAVA
NAME 'java_test.post(int) ';
Is it mandatory to place java files in oracle_home/bin ? I tried placing the file on some other location and then calling it from stored proc. It did not work. Can we point oracle to read java file from location other than oracle_home/bin?
Oracle version used: 11.2.0.2r3

Materialize view is created using DBLINK.
Since refresh materialize view done with every 15 min, my Redo generate gone on toss.System is generating 1 redo file for 1 min. The size for redo log is 500MB.Since materialize views are created base on mysql table, system is doing complete refresh every time which causing to generate more and more redo.
Is there any setting/option/or solution to reduce high redo generation.
