View 5 RepliesI have a set of store procedures that will construct the header and data dynamically. This procedure will return a CURSOR.Now, I will write a new procedure to export data file by calling the above store procedure.
a) is it possible for me to retain the dynamic header when I export the data out ?
b) use 1 export data file procedure to handle it without coding for each data file I want to export.
I have been testing manually creating the header. I am assigning the header string myself.
UTL_FILE.PUTF(fHandler, header_string);
and then use a cursor to loop through the data for each store procedure.
UTL_FILE.PUTF(fHandler, record_string);
I am trying to generate dynamic control file, as the files I want to upload are coming from different source and their name is constantly changing but following a fix pattern and naming convention.
I am able to generate dynamic control file through SQL. But while calling from BATCH file, i am unable to sent the file name as parameter.
All the examples i have searched are for UNIX, how to do it with BATCH File in WINDOWS.
We need to export a big table into a text file with Column delimiter '&|' and row delimiter '$#'.

I am doing export from Oracle 9.2.0.8 windows 2000 prof.

the database (11gR2) is located on Linux server. A business application is installed on a Windows server with an Oracle client 11g.The application is able to start a datapump export, but as matter of fact the dumpfiles are always written to the Linux-server. The directoryobject is defined as DATA_PUMP_DIR (which is the default directory).
Now we are supposed to change the datapump export in a matterthat the dumpfiles get written to the Windows server. Creating a new directory (e.g. c:datapump) and starting than the datapump from theclient always raises the errors
ORA-39002: ...ORA-39070: ...ORA-29283: ...ORA-06512: in "SYS.UTL_FILE", Zeile 536ORA-29283: ...
Is it possible at all to start a datapump export from a Windows client and writing the dumpfiles to the Windows server itself? Or do the dumpfiles always written to the database-server?

I am having an issue export to a file. When I ran the code below I got the correct result. However I want to have a stored procedure to accept schema and table as parameters and pass it so that the records in the table in that schema is exported to a csv file.
CREATE OR REPLACE Procedure sp_export
IS
BEGIN
DECLARE
vfilename varchar2(30);
vFile utl_file.file_type;
CURSOR myCur IS SELECT * FROM user11.system_log_by_range;
[code]...
I tried this procedure with parameters and got an error about EXECUTE IMMEDIATE at the cursor.
CREATE OR REPLACE Procedure sp_export (s in varchar2, t in varchar2)
IS
BEGIN
DECLARE
vfilename varchar2(30);
vFile utl_file.file_type;
CURSOR myCur IS EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'SELECT * FROM '||s||'.'||t;
[code]....
I have to export into a csv file. But the output must contain the column header only once. Also there should be no word wrap.

The user wants a button on the last form and by clicking on this button they want to export the file(updated records from all the forms) in ASCII format.

I am executing multiple PL/SQL files(.sql) with single batch file. The batch file sql.bat has got 3 sub sql sub-tasks to complete once its run. The sql.bat is show below
@Echo off
CD C:Report
echo Loadin tables from text file Report.txt
sqlplus security/password <c:Reportloader_security.sql
echo Creating Security table
sqlplus security/password <c:Reportcreating_security_final.sql
echo Inserting text file Security table
sqlplus security/password <c:Reportinsert_security_final.sql
PAUSE
The sql.bat runs perfectly if I double click on the sql.bat file separately. But if I call the sql.bat from a different batch file 'Final.bat' it throws the below error.
Error

Lots of email alerts reporting SQL Loader failures (the data is actually loading) but I want to prevent all these email alerts being fired. We have an SQL Loader script that is failing regularly with this error, however the data does end up in the tables so it must run subsequently succesfully the log files are cleared out quite quickly so it is difficult to track the errors. Why is there no filename just a.day reference in the error log file?
Below is the shell script I do not have much script experience, so I am unable to see how I can alter this...could I add some kind of exclusive lock check to see if I actually have access to the file before SQL Loader tries to Load it?
