Windows :: Setup ODT With ODAC121010 On Server 2012 Standard Evaluation 64-bit?
Oct 8, 2013
I have one problem when i try to setup ODTwithODAC121010 for connect from Visual Studio 2012 express to Oracle database 10g R2.When i setup ODTwithODAC121010 on Windows 7, can connect from visual studio to oracle database, but when i setup on Windows server 2012 Standard Evaluation x64 can't connect to oracle database through Visual studio 2012 express.
I check in registry of windows server 2012 x64 can't show Oracle folder in registry.how to connect from Visual studio 2012 express on windows server 2012 Standard evaluation x64 to Oracle database 10g.
I am setting up a new production Oracle 11gr2 database on Windows 2008r2 server. I will have SAN(HP 3PAR) attach to the physical server. Here is my plan for diskLUN allocation:
1. 2 SAS disk in Raid1 for OS. 2. 2 SAS disk in Raid1 for Oracle database binary file. 3. 1 LUN for data file. (system, application, user table space) 4. 1 LUN for log file. 5. 1 LUN for temp. 6. 1 LUN for backup.
is this configuration OK? Does UNDO table space on separate LUN or it's OK to put it on data LUN?
I have been trying out the new 12c on Windows 2012 Essentials with the same type of errors. The OraDim step fails and cannot create the services. It fails a bit differently if I choose "Create New Windows User", choose a "Use Existing Windows User", or choose the Windows Built-in user.
I have installed oracle 10g in D drive . The installation says it is successful, without asking the database name or the password . I have followed the steps given in the attached file .
However it is not asking the database name or password ( no configuration set up is appearing for the user to interact with the system ) . So, after installation I can not give the username and password .
I have Oracle 10g on an XP machine, and use the 'Oracle in OraDB10g_home1' driver to read the data. I have another Windows Server 2008 R2 machine on the same network, with SQL Server 2012 on it. What is the best way to read Oracle Tables in SQL Server? Can I setup an ODBC link from my Windows Server machine to the Oracle Database (which would require me to download an Oracle ODBC driver)? Or is the best way to export the required tables from Oracle (e.g. into csv format) and import them into SQL?
I am trying to install Oracle 11g R2 on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. When I execute setup.exe as Administrator the command window flashes and exits. I could not even see what the message is. Also tried command prompt.
I'm trying to setup ODBC connection for my Oracle client while installing BO. Following are the steps I followed.
1. Downloaded the Oracle Client from the link [URL] . From that downloaded two zip files. “Instant Client Package – Basic Lite" and “Instant Client Package – ODBC”. Extracted the Zip Files to the folder I created under C: as C:Oracleinstantclient_11_2.
2. Since I'm setting up in ODBC in windows 2008 64-bit R2. I was advised to install 32 bit . So in cmd prompt, from the location C:Oracleinstantclient_11_2, ran odbc_install.
3.Created the Environment variables as i) *TNS_ADMIN - C:Oracleinstantclient_11_2* ii) *Oracle_Home - C:Oracleinstantclient_11_2* iii) *Edited the PATH variable with ;C:Oracleinstantclient_11_2*
4. Created the tnsnames.ora file in C:Oracleinstantclient_11_2. Its content are as follows. clarity_dev = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = claritydev.vip.its.ebay.com )(PORT = 1521)) ) (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = clarity) ) )
5. From the folder %windir%sysWOW64odbacd32.exe, Opens ODBC Data Source Adminsitartor. In that I found my Oracle in instantclient_11_2 and added following details.
Data Source Name : claritydev.vip.its.com TNS Service Name : clarity_dev User Id: clarity1
When I test connect it, I get error *ORA-12154:* * TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified*
I've seen FAQs for this error, but couldn't find anything which solves. Is there any steps I'm missing? I've checked in DB properties. It uses SID not the Service Name.
when migrating from 32 bit Linux to 64 bit Windows version on database standard edition, is there a server media needed?if yes, can you give me more details on what it consists of?
We are planning to have new installation of 11GR2 and would like to create data guard for this system. I have one server in Houston and other in Austin TX. the OS will be Windows 2008 R2.
How can i set up data guard and what is the requirements?
i want to configure my present Data Guard Setup with Enterprise Manager...and on the Enterprise Manager grid control page i am not seeing any Data Guard option.....i am using oracle 10gR2 and Windows XP.
How to use enterprise manager for configuring Data Guard.
I have an assignment to check the consistency of Oracle database for different conditions.I am having some 200+ columns i a table i need to populate data using prepare statement in .net and check the conditions how it works for each loop values.I am having loop values starting from 1,5,50,100.... 10000k i will increment the loop value as 1,5,50,100.... 10000k and need to get the start time and end time of each loop, i need to check the consistency of the database.
Value for the loop(1,5,50,100.... 10000k) will be from a xml file or text file For the 200+ Columns i am having 2PK's.
CONDIDTIONS
1)Whether i need to restart for every loop value say if i run loop value as 1 then i need to restart the system (not the services) and run for loop value 5 and restart and so on. 2)Whether i need to restart for every loop value say if i run loop value as 1 then i need to restart the services and run for loop value 5 and restart services and so on. 3)Whether i can continue my loop value starting from 1,5...10000k without restart or any other process continuously running starting from 1...10000k in single go
why i am asking this is whether Oracle will act as differently when i do the above process and will there be any performance improvement or performance variations from the above steps if i followed. Whether there be same value for all the three steps or will there be variation in from time and end time for each conditions.
I need to check for insertion time(time difference b/w from time and then loop condition and then end time) for each loop.
I am using oracle 10g with sga_max_size =4GB and db block size 16k. Now i am creating a tablespace with block size 32 kb , whats value i select for the parameter db_32k_cache_size.
Is there any standard way to calculate the value of this parameter.
10g Oracle Standard Edition RAC feature and how it is charged. I mean: is it free option for Standard Edition or payable?
I read something about Baby Rac on wiki and there was information that only with Engerprise Edition RAC is an extra-charge option for Standard Edition RAC is included.
[URL]......
Quote:Oracle Corporation includes RAC with the Standard Edition of Oracle Database (aka Baby RAC), but makes it an extra-charge option for the Enterprise Edition
We do have corporate licencing model in our firm, so we can evaluate what version of Oracle we need to install (One, Standard or Enterprise) bu there is no matter what version we chosed, because our licensing model give us possibility to install the highest version. So usually we were choosing the Enterprise Editions.
But only limitation for us is an options. We can't have additional option like partitioning, RAC, Oracle Tuning Pack, etc... in order to have additional option we need approval from our financial management.
I have idea to change one of our installation from Enterprise Edition to Standard Edition in order to have RAC option for free. Like i said. If we want to have RAC in our Enterprise Edition we need additional approval of money expense - but this is not easy. But our licensing model give us possibility to install Standard Edition of Oracle instead or Enterprise Edition and have RAC option include without additional expenses.
i have been looking at a query that uses a wrong plan. db=11.2.0.3 with user bind peeking enabled. this is a simplified version demonstrating the problem:
select egp.bsn,egp.klantnummer as "Persoonsnummer", egp.samengesteldenaam as "Samengesteldenaam", egp.geboortedatum as "Geboortedatum"from pr_eigenschappen2 egpwhere(egp.bsn = :b1 or :b2 is null)and rownum < 51 egp.bsn is varchar2(10) and has high selectivity (almost unique), and is btree-indexed. table and index have adequate statistics. when run with b1:=928818 and b2:=928818 (both bound as varchar2(10)) a full table scan+filter is used on pr_eigenschappen2. if the query is changed to select egp.bsn,egp.klantnummer as "Persoons nummer", egp.samengesteldenaam as "Samengesteldenaam", egp.geboortedatum as "Geboortedatum"from pr_eigenschappen2 egpwhere(egp.bsn = :b1 or 928818 is null)
and rownum < 51the index on bsn is used, and the query is not taking 3.9 seconds but 1 millisecond.if i would have a choice, the query would be different. i don't want to talk about the raison d'etre of the query, i would like to know why the optimizer is not using the index in the first case.
"representant" acct_id per group (about 300 rows total)acct_repres as( select distinct acct_id, origin_id, acct_parm_id from ( select a.* , source_id , dense_rank() over (partition by source_id origin_id order by acct_nbr nulls first, acct_id) as odr from account a join account_parm ap on (a.parm_id = ap.acct_parm_id) ) where odr = 1)select col1 , col2 , ( select accct_id from acct_repres ar where ar.acct_parm_id = t2.acct_parm_id) col3 , ( select count(1) from acct_repres) col4from some_table t1join other_table t2 on (....)
And here it comes.
The "acct_repres" subquery returns more than 300 rows when executed separately. But when used in CTE sometimes (depending on execution plan) it seems to have only one row - the value in the column col4 is "1",while value for col3 is NULL for most of the cases. It looks like the the dense_rank function and the condition "where odr =1" are evaluated at the very end.
When I use MATERIALIZE hint the result was the same. But when I put the result of account_repres into dedicated table and use that table instead of CTE the output is correct.
when i try to install Oracle 10g (10.1.0.2) 64- bits on windows server 2003 enterprise edition 64 bits service pack1 and i try for windows server 2003 standard edition 64 bits on a pc,i am getting the below error.
the image file E: is valid, but it is for a machine type other than current machine
I'm using forms 9i. Let's say I have a Block in the form B1. It has two items I1 and I2. I have a table called T1 that has a column say C1. The data in the only record in T1 is 'NAME_IN(''B1.I1'') = 1 OR NAME_IN(''B1.I2'') = 2'..In forms I need to execute the following at POST-QUERY trigger of the block:-
DECLARE VAR1 VARCHAR2(1000); BEGIN SELECT C1 INTO VAR1 FROM T1; [code]....
As you could see that the IF statement is wrong. But I get the condition (for IF condition) as a string value from some database table.
Any way to setup Data Pump Export timeout on resumable error (like with classique export). Seems that default timeout is 2h (7200s).I have tried to set system parameter 'resumable_timeout' from 0 to 60 but no change.
I would like to script an export, but I just want that the script exits on errors like this one:
ORA-39171: Le travail se heurte à une attente avec possibilité de reprise. ORA-01691: impossible d'étendre le segment LOB SYS.SYS_LOB0000145352C00039$$ de 128 dans le tablespace SYSTEM
Actually, the script have to wait 2h for expdp timeout.
Having below setup : (All this is testing environment)
1.One virtual Machine Guest OS is Windows 8 Pro 64 bit in Oracle Virtual Box 2.In the guest I have Microsoft Visual Studio 64 bit Ultimate Edition 3.Oracle 11.2.0.1 on same host machine windows 7 64 bit
In above Visual studio I wish to use Oracle 11.2.0.1 on same host machine. When I adds sql datasource control, Visual Studio is saying for installation of either one :
(A) Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio (B) Oracle client software version 8.1.7 or greater.
So, I downloaded ODTwithODAC1120320_32bit.zip from below link:
[URL].........
and installation run successfully with a message regarding running installAllOracleASPNETProviders.sql after a new installation. My questions are :
1.When I opened command prompt and said sqlplus / as sysdba it is saying ORA-12560. 2.When I says sqlplus scott/tiger@orcl (I created tnsnames.ora) c:app
ishaproduct11.2.0client_1NetworkAdmin with like this : orcl = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX)(PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVER = DEDICATED) (SERVICE_NAME = orcl) ) )
In above HOST = i am giving IP address of host machine on which this VM is installed and this is also oracle server database machine too, on which I am running Oracle database;
so, after few seconds I am getting, ORA-12154.
How do I connect my orcl database which is running on the same host machine by using above configurations. My virtual machine is visible from other machines as well as oracle database machine too i.e. ping to VM IP is working fine.
To rewrite this sql which is in ANSI 92 standard to ANSI 89 standard.
