Every time I start DBConsole it takes almost 30 minutes to start, slows down the computer to the point where its not usable and/or crashes it.
In production server, already Oracle 10 and 11g sare installed. The new application designed to work on Entity Framework which nees ODP.Net 112030 Release 4 version.
As soon as ODP.Net Release got installed ont the server, the SQL Plus couldn't connect the Oracle databae. But the same setup is working all other lower environment

one of the drives has lot of errors but not sure how to check those errors....
I tried to restart the server and sometimes it comes backup. I have backups but really like to solve this issue. I know where the control files are located but not sure what would be good point to start this.
I have over 27 views in apex and made a column name change in the views and after I compile about 4 or 5 of them, the apex engine crashes. I was compiling the data views first, before moving on to report views. When I upload the views and ran them in the as a script, it said all of the views were created. When I went into object browser most of the views compiled. I recompiled the ones that were marked red. I compiled them in the code window, incase it threw an error, I can fix it there.
I had problems with views, before causing core dumps when I compiled them, but figured I had to compile the views in a certain order.
I have download and installed the trial version of oracle 11g enterprise on windows 2008 r2 in vmware workstation. I couldn't see the database control in start up as my destination path c:oracleyourdatabaselocationdboc4jj2eeoc4j_DBConsole though I tried to open manually https://<localhost, ipaddress, domainname>:1158/em but its failed to open. I also tried to recreate the db using below commandemca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos dropemca –config dbcontrol –repos createGot some info from below details:[URL]
NOTE: Moreover dbcontrol services missing in services.msc
[URL].....it always defaults for one database..in the service name also there is dbconsoledba1 written....my other database is dba2...do i need to create another service for dbconsole
Im doing a project for my college and i need to transfer database. The thing is that i have created tables with databases and linked it to VB using ADODC.
I have done all this in the Computer at my home. So i have done all the project in my computer. I want to show the same project in my college, but i cant do it as the database is stored in my personal computer at home. Is there any ways i could transfer the database from my house to college like storing it in a pendrive. I used sqplus oracle 9i to create the tables.

I can access database with sql plus. When I try to access dbconsole with IE I get a certificate error (see uploaded picture),clicking "Laden dieser Webseite fortsetzen" has no effect. Disable Windows firewall does not change anything.
There are 2 further databases of same oracle version on this machine. They show the same problem with dbconsole.
I tried to add content of C: Oracleproduct11.2.0dbhome_2200864ORADB.it.ixsystems_CHAMPsysmanlog (for which i stopped service OracleDBConsoleCHAMP). But I can upload only one file, no ZIP.

i have this table structure create table file (id number, media_file blob).how i upload pdf or jpg files from this table to computer for example to C:myfiles
Tried restarting OracaleDBConsole service after a Windows security patch was installed and now I'm getting error 1053:The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion" error message when you stop or pause a managed Windows service.
Apparently it was a MS known issue and it has been fixed in .NET v1.1 which is what was installed(& I didn't have any problems) before server team installed the latest security update which was .NET v2.0
unable to start the DBCONSOLE immediately after installing Oracle 11G R2 onto my Windows 7 box. Here is what I have ran from the command line:
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. C:Userssandifer>emctl start dbconsole Environment variable ORACLE_UNQNAME not defined. Please set ORACLE_UNQNAME to database unique name. C:Userssandifer>SET ORACLE_HOSTNAME=localhost
[code].....
I checked the above listed file path, and sure enough, OC4J_DBConsole_localhost_orcl is missing.
I am on H1 visa and working as chemical engineer...but I am bored of this job... I wanted to switch to IT and particularly oracle dba..
How much is the risk for me as I am coming from non computer science background..there are various IT consulting companies who can provide training and do h1 transfer......currently (year 2010) the market for oracle is booming a lot...so I was thinking what can go wrong if I do this switch.
I am trying to connect to a database located at my work from at home. I am running into the following issue (see command and error below):
ansichart@ansivm:~/src/perl$ sqlplus aspxdba/********@aspxp2 SQL*Plus: Release 11.2.0.3.0 Production on Thu Jul 18 21:15:09 2013 Copyright (c) 1982, 2011, Oracle.
All rights reserved. ERROR:ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist-- Here is my tnsnames.ora file (I have the service_name censored out for privacy reasons):-
I have verified that I can establish a TCP connection to this DB server on the port specified, using the same info from the TNSnames.ora file (see below):-
---ansichart@ansivm:~/src/perl$ nmap -sT -p 1521 orarac9-scan Starting Nmap 5.21 (URL.... ) at 2013-07-18 20:53 CDTNmap scan report for orarac9-scan (10.1.13.115)Host is up (0.0088s latency).PORT STATE SERVICE1521/tcp open oracle Nmap done: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 0.09 secondsansichart@ansivm:~/src/perl$--
I have another terminal opened up to a server at work and I can connect to the DB with sqlplus just fine. I verified that the record for this database on the tnsnames.ora file is the same as it is at work. In conclusion, I can connect to the Database at work, but I cannot at home, even though I am using the same connection information and verified that port 1521 is accessible on this Database server from at home. So why can't I establish a DB connection?
i m facing an issue about TNS connectivity after some time i start my notebook and then sql butt it can not be login from any side like sql,pl/sql,forms or reports it shows same error ora-12203 tns unable to connect to the destination also my service of oracleserviceORCL can not start it shows an error like 'windows could not start the service on local computer '
I am using oracle 10g i have a table on my computer that i made for a friend when i load it on their computer the select statements say no data found if i use select * from table name all the data will show
if a column name select * from table name where duty_date = '05-JAN-11'no data found
I have a new install of 10g running on xp. All seems to be working fine except for the Db Console. This command...C:>emctl status dbconsole throws...OC4J Configuration issue. C:oracleproduct10.2.0db_1/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_DBConsole_xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx_LOCAL10G not found.where xxx... is my ip address???
The directory name is actually OC4J_DBConsole_MY-LT_LOCAL10G. My tnsnames shows my host as MY-LT, so I'm not sure why it's looking for an ip address.
I did a search off my oracle home in all .ora and .xml files, but did not see this address listed. I figured there may be a var assigned this ip instead of the hostname but found none.
To note, I do not have a ORACLE_HOME setup. I do have an ORACLE_SID setup (local10g). This is the only Db running on this host.
