Server Utilities :: Objects Gets Invalid During Import
Feb 1, 2011Why is that we recompile all invalid objects after import and how the object gets invalid during import?

View 1 RepliesI am having one prod and one devl with prod having stream setup.
I have to refresh devl with prod , but if i will go by full expdp then db_links also get imported into the devl and may cause problem in devl.
Is there any other way using expdp to exclude the stream objects while doing import.
I get import error while trying to import objects into schema.

My another question is can we grant QUOTA UNLIMITED on <tablespace_name> to user ?
I did the datapump export and import from one schema to a new schema in the same database. I had to use different tablespace. I used the following parameters in the parfiles :
export parfile
directory
dumpfile
logfile
parallel
import parfile
directory
dumpfile
logfile
parallel
remap_schema
remap_tablespace
Tell me whether I need to use different parameters than the one I used? Can I use both remap_schema and remap_tablespace at a time?
I'm using sqlldr to import geometries into a table. The import runs succesfully, but when I validate to imported geometries using "SDO_GEOM.VALIDATE_GEOMETRY_WITH_CONTEXT", it gives an error on empty geometries (or supossedly empty).
When I select to columns using sqlplus, the geometry column isn't entirely empty. After I set the geometry = null, the geometry is really empty. (see screenshot)
Question: How do I import empty geometries values properly, so that it's really empty My guess is that I have to alter to ctrl-file, like NULLIF

dbmsotpt.sql
dbmsapin.sql
Now even after reexecuting the catproc.sql and utlrp...Sys objects and the catproc status is still INvalid.
I tried to manually compile the sys objects, but it didnt work.

One of my friends is facing a peculiar problem where objects are getting "Invalid" during execution I suspect it is happening as they are changing system date during their testing (time travel) which can create conflicted last_ddl_time on objects having dependencies
Consider a scenario
[1] system date is 10-06-2012 there are total 10 objects which has status as 'valid'
[2] the system date is changed to 10-07-2012 Now out of 10 Only 5 objects are compiled During execution ORA-04065,ORA-06508, ORA-06512 are observed
[3] the system date is brought back to 10-06-2012 Again during execution ORA-04065,ORA-06508, ORA-06512 are observed
suppose in step 2 objects are compiled whereas there synonyms are compiled in step 1, only thus last_ddl_time for objects will be later to that of its' synonym...
Does database validate last_ddl_time for objects having dependency during execution and then auto-compiles or invalidates the objects?
I want to move 350 database objects from one database to another database schema.
View 16 Replies View RelatedTwo different says in different documentation as below.
1) Import required same tablespace to fit the objects, otherwise it throws error.
2) Import by default uses the default tablespace to fit the objects, but some times it uses SYSTEM tablespace also.
confirm with the correct one.
Iam having the following query, After executing schema refresh using export & import , getting count of database objects comparison to be done,
-- SELECT 'TRUNCATE TABLE '||OWNER||'.'||TABLE_NAME||' ;' FROM DBA_TABLES WHERE OWNER='PRICING' order by TABLE_NAME;
SQL> SELECT 'select count(*) from '||OWNER||'.'||TABLE_NAME||' ;' FROM DBA_TABLES WHERE OWNER='PRICING' order by TABLE_NAME;
The output expected was to display each table name in a schema following below with corresponding number of records to be displayed, but it wasn't showing correctly.
aix 6.111.2.0.3 I have an expdp dump from prod to be imported to our test database.I have imported it using impdp, but to my surprise the tables were imported but lots of indexes were not created? even If I have used TRANSFORM=SEGMENT_ATTRIBUTES:N just to use the default USERS tablespace. How do I import the indexes separately, skipping the tables and other objects?

i want create view to select all invalid objects in database.So i create this one:
CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW INVALID_OBJECTS_DETAILS
(
DETAILS
)
AS
SELECT DISTINCT a.owner || ', ' || a.object_name
FROM dba_objects a, dba_source b
WHERE a.owner = b.owner
AND a.object_name = b.name
AND a.object_type = b.TYPE
AND a.status != 'VALID'
AND b.text NOT LIKE '%@%';
But I want only select invalid objects without a database link .
I am Modifying a table structure, so dependent objects(triggers,packages etc) are getting invalid. So i thought of compiling those invalid objects which are related with the modified table. I used below query to get the invalid objects,
select obj.object_name,obj.object_type from user_objects obj,all_dependencies dep
where referenced_name='DEPT' and obj.object_name=dep.name and dep.owner='SCOTT' and obj.status='INVALID'
Q1)What is wrong with this query, sometimes it works sometime it doesn't.?
Q2)All_dependencies : does this view show all dependent object on a table even the Invalid one's?
Q3) Is there any alternative to find the dependent invalid objects or even dependent object on a table ?
Quote:by default the job runs once every 24 hours.
When you see LAST_ANALYZED being days, weeks, or months in the past do not be alarmed.
If/when the data in a table does not change, then the statistics do not need to change.
Oracle collects new statistics when enough of the data (about 10%) has changed.
Like above statement for DBMS_STATS job, is there a automatic job that runs every day to compile invalid objects for schema or we need to compile it manually ?

I exported oracle database from one server in a dmp file. then i imported it in another oracle database server. when i saw the imported data the columns which were storing german data is in rubbish characters.
then i remember that the database from where i exported is having nls language as german. i executed this statement to set the nls on the new server
alter system set nls_lang=german SCOPE=SPFILE
but now my database is not getting started always giving me error - cannot access NLS data files or invalid environment specified.
i also set the path NLS_LANG=german in the solaris environment.
First I got errors when I did the export with an export tool of Release 11.1.0.7.0 and there were lot of ORA-00904 and ORA-01003 like the following:

ORA-00904: "MAXSIZE": invalid identifier
. . exporting table XRATE_INFO
EXP-00008: ORACLE error 1003 encountered
ORA-01003: no statement parsed
Then I tried to do export with another version of export tool (Release 10.2.0.4.0) The errors changed to the follwing:
.about to export FM's tables via Direct Path...
EXP-00008: ORACLE error 904 encountered
ORA-00904: "POLTYP": invalid identifier
EXP-00000: Export terminated unsuccessfully
The export tool I used is of Release 10.2.0.4.0
Recently I migrated our Oracle to new machine using exp/imp on schema basis. After import finished I had tons of invalid objects in database. I ran utlrp.sql script and lots of them got validated. Than I recompiled manually in EM those are left but two invalid objects (MGMT_JOB_UI description and body) in SYSMAN schema gave error while recompiling.
Now when I click on any scheduled jobs to edit it or view its schedule, EM throw following error:

I think its related to that invalid package. The errors while compiling the specification are as follow:

I wrote the below query to get the referenced objects which depends on invalid objects.

where type not in ('JAVA CLASS')
AND referenced_type NOT IN('JAVA CLASS')

select object_name, OBJECT_TYPE from dba_objects

Our requirement is to drop all the invalid objects. But we need to know whether it effecting to any other valid objects?Do any valid objects gets INVALID after dropping of the INVALID objects. We need to know the hierarchy of it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have a table in Oracle9i database with around 14 million records and we would like to import that table into 10g database with similar structure. We have exported the table from 9i database and would like to import the table into 10g database within same schema name with different table name as we already have the table with same name in 10g database in same schema. Is it possible to import a table with different table name?
We have a way around to import the table into 10g database in another schema and then push the data into our main table but want to know whether the above requirement is possible.
